welcome to the dayz experience. Zombies are the closest thing you'll find to "friendly" in Dayz.

Because it's awesome. Except for the obvious lag it is the most awesome experience i had in a while in Dayz.

Is there anything being planned that incentivizes not shooting on sight?

More zombies and make them near impossible to kill without a headshot. Why would someone risk killing another player without good reason and getting jumped by a load zed's that are only killable by head injury? Maybe less guns/ammo en more melee types attack? -

Great stuff! But where are we supposed to shelter from the rain? Last time i checked it rains inside the houses and barns as well. -
I can confirm this as well. I travelled into Black Forest from Gorka following the dirt road. Got jumped by 6 zombies at 092 - 074, just beyond the side road with the cabin.

Had to respawn anyway. Just got blindsided by a zombie (i thought they made a noise while charging?) after fumbling in the dark for 2 hours. Bled to death while running blind in the pitch dark. I'll head to the beach!
