the AI doesn't have to be that good to be honest. they just need to charge towards you like homing missiles. Basically dumb soldier AI with flappy arms. Has anyone or the dev team looked much at Breaking Point (arma 3) mod? Besides having none of the mouse-acceleration issues, and a much smoother engine, within Arma 3, Breaking Point's zombies are also spot on. Great in numbers, you can see hordes of 20 or 30 in towns, they come to noise, they are somewhere between jogging and sprint speed, and they make you bleed/injured in 1-3 strikes. Perfect! -
We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

No he's right, its a bandit player. Currently every bandit wears full camo, and if someone is trying to stand out or be helpful they choose other clothes for example black or blue tact vest with a checked shirt. Not everyone wants to be a stealthy KOS camo army dude. Some people actually play like its a survival apocalypse, and no you wouldn't be running 10miles with a gasmask on. -
Come back when you'v played more than 4 hours you noob. I think they need to roughly half all of the food and drink spawns as theres far too much, its too damn easy. I haven't died since launch day and I have over 50 hours in Standalone. Its easy to find food , drink and survive. there are several infinite drinks- wells, lakes, streams etc. And nearly every village/house/store has food. Its more like a walk in the park than a zombie apocalypse currently. ANd we dont even have loot respawn yet. Once that happens its going to constant easy mode. I only have 6 months total PC experience, so im not a veteran or anything, but i strongly strongly recommend making it way harder or you are going to just have a constant deathmatch because no one has to worry about food or survival.

This hardly made any difference for Day Z , but its' still worth doing alongside the other common fixes- the best things you can do is set steam launch options to your number of cores. cpucore=4, exthreads=7 , maxmemory=4gb.. follow other threads for full details but their the best fixes for me... and then change both the gpu render ahead to 1 in your config, disable in game v sync, ambient occlusion, and fxaa very low for AA Use Nvidia control panel V Sync or gpu v sync rather than in game, change Nvidia GPU render ahead to 1 -

No., they are really not, this is so far mistaken it hurts my eyes to read it. The zombies are broken. They stand still. These are supposed to viscous cannibalistic animals that can smell flesh and blood and will tear towards you and nothing will stop them feeding. In S.A the zombies STAND STILL even when you are right near them. They should have enhanced vision and smell, and should never be stood stationary., Either their roaming, wandering around , stumbling along roads, or their chasing you, or their eating you. Zombies dont just stand still and then wander towards you while you run around them in circles. We need hordes of angry zombies that kill you almost instantly. Make it harder :D -
No it ISN'T a pvp game, you are sadly mistaken, and that is one of the reasons most of the DAY Z Community ruins their own game. It is a apocalypse survival game, and you can do it in any way you like. It is not specifically a PVP game. If anything, its a co-op survival game. Also this is A FORUM. For feedback about the alpha. Don't start saying its alpha so we shouldn't give feedback.

The point of an ALPHA is to test the game, and to give your feedback to the developers, here on their forums, so that they may continue to develop and improve the game in a way which their playerbase and community would like. It is an open FORUM to Share your ideas on how the alpha should progress. Spouting the warning is NOT helping the game progress. We would obviously like a zombie apocalypse survival game to be challenging and force players to co-operate against the greater zombie threat. This is the basis. Its not a PVP only game. This is the point raised. Alpha or not, forum is for feedback, so these morons quoting the alpha text really have no idea about how to feedback and develop.

I see the guys point , it seems everything added so far is kind of bandit stuff like handcuffs, too much military weapons. I know i know, once more melee/ Bow and arrow we will reduce military gear.. However i think difficulty is far far too low, this encourages PVP too much because survival is a 'walk in the park' Food , drink need to be much rarer, as do guns and ammo. It should be a struggle to survive. Zombies should kill in 2 or 3 strikes max. The zombies are also need so much damn work. They stand stationary until you go near them, even the old mod zombies could wander around roaming. I think the melee is slightly improved from mod, and the way they jog and not sprint is better. But they need to be harder, and more of them. You shouldnt be able to run circles around them because their turning circle is too slow. I agree with OP to be honest, forget adding shotguns and more weapons and bandit stuff, Make the game harder, and add more zombies. Creating a challenging survival 'base' game rather than cranking up damage and stuff later. Its just too easy, its more like Wasteland at the minute. The harder the better

The turbo function should just be a toggle. This is basic gaming stuff now. I don't want to hold down sprint for ergonomic reasons. Edit: I would still have to hold a key down to move forward either way, as I use the logitech g13 joystick I'm holding the stick forwards to move forwards whether I'm sprinting or not, I have to hold Shift to sprint, so I assumed you guys would still hold W and just use Shift as the toggle to sprint on/off (exactly how Arma 3 works). So I don't understand the whole tab out or auto run , you will still have to hold W just not holding Shift constantly. -

Its not about loving it or not, the camera is pretty sh*t in first person, even with head bob off its jerky and disorientating. Do I have to even mention the mouse movement which is exaggerated 10 fold in First person mode ? Scavenging and navigating inside buildings in first person view is broken in my opinion.

What you guys fail to understand is you don't HAVE to cheat. You don't HAVE to wiggle your camera over every damn wall and round corners. personally I like seeing my characters outfit an get very disorientated when looting in first person. In combat i prefer to shoot in first person, obviously. You don't have to use gamma cheats. You don't have to shoot on site. you don't have to Wiggle your camera. I don't care if other noobs are doing it. Think for yourselfs. This community is awful. MAN UP

i hope to rocket that the full on, hard core helicopter mechanics are brought over from Take On Helicopters. So much more challenging and rewarding than arma 2 or arma 3 helicopters. If this happens literally everyone who hasn't flown in that game will be crashing on take off, will be hilarious and brilliant. Also, disable Auto Hover and Auto Engine would be truely, EPIC

Also looking for a good day / night server I think there is a problem where by upon server restarting it goes back to its previous 'start time' However admins can set the time manually. What we need is a nice admin who when re-setting the server makes sure the time is from where it left off. If this could be scripted, it would be perfect. Something like Server Starts: 8am-12 midday ---- Restarts at midday-4pm ------- Restarts then plays 4pm-8 pm ------ Restarts at 8, till midnight --------------- Midnight till 4am -------------- 4am to 8am That would be perfect -
