You may have no need for a PVE server. However I wouldn't mind the choice. Soon we know they are going to let people change the time scale so you can have up to 64 x time to experience day/night as you wish. I think people should be able to rent a private server (not on the hive) and do PVE on there. It will be fun if theres just a few friends online and you fancy testing vechicles, or having a private hunger games style event,. lots of things would be fun on a private server where you can kick people for PVP. I invision a PVE server having hundreds of extra zombies to increase the threat.

Good one, I agree. The community of day Z is the worst community of any game I've played. Most other games you will meet the occasionally friendly person who is willing to co-operate or work together. Especially in an apocalypse game you would expect to be more common, but no, everyone wants to be a troll, 99% of the community are KOS (which is worse than just playing the bandit) and it turns the game into a giant deathmatch (which isn't actually much fun, on a huge map with 40 people). Maybe the servers cranked up to 65 or 100 people would actually help, and i also think we need less gun/ammo spawn, more zombies, and zombies should kill you faster (3 swipes or one bite and your dead in my opinion).

- NOT BEEN KOS BY OTHER PLAYERS Some people play for the exploration, Communication, Commardary, NOT FUCKING KOS Your ignorance is bliss

Feedback: Great game, will come back when...

I think the point made was that the damage is ridiculously too high for too small fall. We are not expecting a mirrors edge/ Dying Light run and roll Parkour system (though it would be great.) All I would expect is to be able to fall 2 stories and take small damage (maybe 10 % chance of breaking bone such as ankle)- but you should still be able to limp away faster than that horrible walk that happens when you break your leg now. I think they should re-do fall damage . Anything under 1.5 metre = no damage to 5% damage 2 storie drop= 5-10% damage, , and increase accordingly. You shouldnt be breaking legs off these small drops. Many many games have that auto drop and hang method i think first invented in tomb raider one circa 99? Also as common is a better vault mechanic that actually interact with the fence/ object than clipping straight through it!!! -

ridiculous, most adult men can jump a couple of stories easily without injury at all. I grew up with extreme sports and often jumped of ledges, roofs etc. even 2 stories roof should fine, in game should have drop and lower animation, you know like GTA had about 10 years ago. -

Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)

Good debate! Yes I agree. Even looking at recent events in Europe where governments are breaking down most people like to unite for a common cause. There are many protests groups and people working together. I think the kind of 'troll' attitude popular with young people today has spread into many games and you see people taking up this playstyle for example in Dark Souls or playing lone wolf in team games. There are lots of examples but I think bad attitude and dis-respect in gaming has reached a peak in Day Z community and people seem to play very selfishly. I am not strictly against people playing the bandit and I stress it is a free-roam game to play as you please. But the game has been ruined somewhat by the self destructive community. The server options is a tricky debate because they don't want admins kicking people out for no reasons. I would like to join no-kos servers occasionally and just explore. But i can see both sides. As long as the public servers are on the same hive, I guess it is unfair for an admin to enforce a no KOS rule, as it would give those players the advantage when they come onto other servers after gathering resources without risk. However, the system as it is doesn't work, people are too afraid to co-operate and we can see the cycle of bandits making others think they have to kos to survive. I have died many times trying to communicate and the other guy just shoots me. But I still wouldn't go and do it, because I have had epic experiences teaming up with randoms. -

Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
agentneo replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
The Z is Zombies.. I don't know where you get this from. But I believe it's zombies,....obviously The player attitude is to blame..people who get shot and then proceed to bandit others...the circle of bandits..All selfish and cowardly in my opinion, it takes more balls to risk your stuff and communicate...Also think people with bad social skills are to blame for this...To scared to turn on their mic and talk to an actual human., much easier to just shoot and keep your mic off. Also rubbish. The game is supposed to be a SURVIVAL APOCALYPSE Game. It is definetly not designed to be a strictly PVP Game! The point of the game is to give the PLAYER the option and choice to roam Chernarus and do as they please, to survive the zombie apocalypse. It is not designed as a PVP 'game mode' which would be your team deathmatch, domination, etc. It is a free-roam survival game. More than anything it is PVE. The whole point is to do whatever you want, and If i think about humanity, and how to survive in an apocalypse, we wouldn't be Waring tribes.,,, that is so stupid. We would be a rising revolution of free-minded people building a self-sustaining community and no longer relying on the government. Obviosly there are those who bandit and steal but you are missing the point. It is not a PVP game or is it designed to be co-op. The game is unique and open and gives the players the options. So stop trying to force people to play this stupid way of shooting everything. -
Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
agentneo replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
Well, personally yes, stil since the update. I usually leave my player logged in a small town and it was the same as usual when I logged in, a faster zombie but still just one or two, 5 tops for the whole village. each zombie dies of one hit to the fire axe (still too easy) . IMO should be a direct head hit, aimed for head for one hit kill, anywhere else should take several strikes. One zombie strike should always bleed and carry infection chance. I think their getting there, but still too easy, not really a threat if u have the axe is it -

Servers arent allowed to put in a rule like that yet, and unfortunately many bandits from these forums not only join these servers specifically to troll friendly players, they also 'snitch' and report such servers getting them shut down. -
Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
agentneo replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
Its a good example to throw at the aggressive people who think everyone will automatically become murdering pyschopaths in the event of a real apocalyptic situation. Lots of people would in fact work together, after much discussion with like minded friends and talkign to people who have been in a survival situation. People will band together and work as a team, if their life depends on it. Other notable films and works of fiction that take a more realistic and believable accounts of how humans MIGHT react. The books: World War Z, and Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse are very good too. Films/TV: contagion, Blackout. There is also some documents from FEMA and other organisations which i have researched. The Walking Dead is a good example to throw at people who think everyone would be aggressive inthis situation. Obviously if the world threat from zombies was more dangerous, people are forced to work together, or die apart. I think that is the way the game should do. Sure you can be a lone wolf but your chances of survival should be reduced drastically. It shouldnt be 'balanced' for a lone wolf, the balance should force co-operation, and fire-ing a gun should be an almost suicidal, dinner bell. -
The reason Zombie clipping isn't fixed.

I see it getting made easier from the cry babies over time. Especially with loot respawn and hunting. Survival is going to become easier. Zombies need to be made harder than the player threat imo -
Ideas and real life factors that could make DayZ more realistic (which could prevent shooting on sight in the long run)
agentneo replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Support the OP, yes , great idea. it needs to become a real zombie apocalypse, not a bandit PVP-deathmatch which is where it currently is. -
Rename to DayB (Bandits are scarier than zombies)
agentneo replied to Mancomb's topic in New Player Discussion
Not likely, unless they enjoy murdering un-armed civilians. The Walking Dead is a great show for example if you watched recently you will see even people with weapons and who don't trust each other will band together to try and survive. its lone wolfs playing cowardly bandits that spoil this game for everyone. like the others have said its not banditting persay im against,. its the fact that 99.9% of all Day Z community kill on Sight and have no respect, manners or an open mind -

yeah always shout friendly or something like that. Don't listen to these guys , bascially they play bandit style and verbally attack and shoot down people who want to play friendly. The funny thing is most of these players moan dramatically about banditting then change their mind and take a 'if I cant beat them I'll join them attitude' and then Kos themselfs. Pretty stupid! Man up, and try communicating before opening fire on innocent civilians. Obviously most of the 'kos'-ers are too scared to talk, lack basic communication/social skills, or are too afraid to loose their precious gear or risk been shot. Cowards, the lot of them! -

Wrong. They are lethal in numbers and survivors are commonly over whelmed from having your attitude., They were almost perfect speed pre-patch- a slow jog, just needs to be more of them , and when they hit it needs to freaking kill! 50 % chance of fatality/infection. Lets get serious!!! Wrong. yeah most of the community of day z is full of trolls and people who just play to annoy others, I assume they have no fun playing the game so make entertainment from trolling people and griefers. So yeah, i recommend joining up with a small community on team speak or something like that. Because in-game chance of meeting a friendly is about 1 % Great, another helpful and insightful view into the varied and welcoming Day Z community.... > <

I prefer slightly slower zombies, the jog they had previously was fine. Just more of them. I like the greater challenge the better, but i dont like rage zombies, im a walking dead fan and prefer Romero standard. Preferences aside, I think they are almost good just slighlty slower jog. However I think one swipe/bite should be potentially fatal, should bleed everytime. Going in for that axe swing needs to be riskier. its still too easy to just shit over everything with that fire axe.

Can you tell the direction which fire is coming from?

standard 2.1 stereo headphones will give better positioning than fake 5.1 or 7.1 all built in gaming sets. i use beyerdynamic DT 990 premium, but my soundcard gives me 7.1 virtual surrorund sound. much better quality than trying to ram 7 tiny speakers into an earphone- thats crap. -
due to the bad community that don't know how to think or speak before shooting.

Zombies Need To Get Worse Before They Get Better (READ)
agentneo replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
its actually just had a massive update and their even smoother now. I agree, their perfect- they stumble and walk and then break into a slow jog when aggro'ed. The speed and amount of them is perfect to be honest. And they'v added zombified Gullies, zombie-taliban, and zombie-survivors, look so epic -
Can you zoom in further when looking through iron sights?
agentneo replied to Captain Cornhole's topic in New Player Discussion
yes you can hold the gun normally, just raised, about 20cm from your eye,or you can pull the sight right up close to your eye for more accuracy -
Yes I agree definetly Gannon, it was great news to play with new update yesterday, in my own review of the game so far I concluded that I expect it will take a few months until it is considered ‘playable’ by the masses. But for zombie-fans, or anyone who likes exploration or apocalyptic style games, I recommend the Alpha version of the game while it is discounted. The alpha may be early, but it has much more polish than many other early games. With the strong team over at Bohemia Interactive the game is pretty much guaranteed to become one of the best zombie games later this year. However I would love to see a bigger effort from the Dev’s to continue to get the zombies and the PVE (player vs environment) challenge increased dramatically, as a priority. My main fear is the game continues to have too many people falling into bandit play style due to not enough PVE Challenge, this is turn puts off new players.

I think you have a point, game has been out since mid December and development rate is slow to say the least!
