I played Epoch for a few months when I got my PC and joined a team who had bases. I thought it was far too easy and even now I'll ocasionally pop on my mates Epoch server and it takes about 5 minutes to loot and sell stuff to buy a car and full gear. Its more like GTA than a zombie game, far too easy.l am seeking a hard core challenge with tougher zombies Also the admins are out of control, they can spawn any item and teleport anywhere. The admin on the server i played was friendly but he would still be a prick and randomly snipe us in a guillie suit sometimes

What is more to do in vanilla day z? I didnt play the mod until last summer so maybe I missed this golden vanilla age that is rumoured. I guess there was more zombies, tents and vechicles? All stuff that we know is coming. The reasons i like the standalone are kind of the whole systems, the medical system, inventory, clothing and loot is really good and I can make my own little 'missions' to do if I get bored. You make your own story in Day Z

its means player vs environment, or co-operative, i am guessing you already know this and intetionally troll people. A lot of people cannot be bothered with the constant ganking and been shot every 5 seconds in the back for no reason, so we would like to play as if it was a real zombie apocalypse, where like in reality people would value there own life and not sit shooting new survivors for sport. If you think you are a good PVP player or something like that, go on a high pop server that is intended for PVP, and don't troll on servers that are full of friendly players who wish to avoid conflict, that would be more of a challenge for you instead of slaying people who don't even want to fight. Such is the level of logic and humanity in the day z community, this comes as no surprise to me

Well a looting PVE server isn't about getting geared up so much, its about looting, exploring and enjoying the atmosphere, perhaps killing zombies or assisting fellow survivors. If I wanted to play a crappy version of deathmatch, I would fire up a different game. PVP only is the worst, no point in looting if your going to die straight away, no point in zombies or any of the great elements if all you want to do is run in a circle killing people again and again, go and play a deathmatch.

because some of us like zombie culture, and call them zombies. The Z in DAY Z Stands for ZOMBIE in my world, i dont care if you think their infected, each to their own opinion You will, i'll be around, doubt you will be. My group is looking forward to getting a private server around that time, so I'll come back and invite you if you havent pissed off to the latest FPS Craze -

Well thats safe to say is bullshit, the team has good financial backing and has set realistic goals to be done with the beta and into full release by end of 2014/start of next year I hope by Christmas we will have already all the good stuff! -Animals, hunting and cooking -Vechicles -Persistant tents, backpacks and stashes -Zombie AI pathfinding, increased ZOmbies, and zombie respawn -Respawning Loot -Private servers with lots of different options -

i dont want player to turn into zombie but i think the zombies should be more dangerous and if one grapples or gets a good bite that should be it, the timer should start (random one day or couple days) after which you just pass out and die. I think the base game is a bit easy, and this would be one way i would make people FEAR zombies and force them to kill the zombies before they get too close. I have also suggested much less food/drink loots, especially when hunting is enabled, and drinking raw water should carry a risk of infection unless boiled I want a really challenging base game that forces people to think they are in a real zombie apocalypse, i feel currently zombies are no threat and don't make you afraid ps. i know its not easy and we have to wait for the big AI pathfinder fix. I would like to see a few more regular tweaks than just leaving them broke until when Q3, or Q4 this year?? its a long way to wait., I really appreciated the recent update- Melee requiring a headshot to kill..Why doesnt the same system work for fire arms? I can shoot a zombie in the toe with a pistol and it dies...thats ridiculous, head shots only please -

would be nice to see some more experiments and tweaks with the zombies would be great if every week or 2 weeks they tweaked zombies slightly then came back to us,. Rather than just leaving us with broken zombies for >1 month Yes i know the AI pathfinding will take longer, however they could easily do small tweaks every week . This could be a small tweak to AI Code, that goes through experimental than to stable. Then we could have a thread about feedback, and people vote and give thoughts on improvements week by week improving the base AI zombies,, until the new team has the pathfinding solution. For example!!! Current Zombies: Sprint Speed is 10% faster than Character 10 zombies average per large town (approximate) Suggested Experiments: May Week 1 : Sprint speed same as character Melee attack 20% faster animation Damage slightly higher 10 zombies average per town May Week 2: Zombies only walk or jog (10% slower than character sprint) Melee attack 20% faster animation Damage is almost fatal for every hit- 40 % damage 30% risk of broken bones / bleeding from every hit May Week 3 : Zombies only walk and slow jog (20% slower than character sprint) Melee attacks same as above with 50% risk of bleeding/ bone breaking Increase zombie numbers significantly and include Hordes I would also like to see an infection system , where by if you are hit by a zombie or grabbed you become more and more ill until dying some hours or days later. No known cure -

im killing zombies with a single hit to the head consistently, ask my friends, they see me do it, when it runs at me i run at the zombie, when its about 2 metres away i start my swing, i lean back, aiming high and to the right, and as me and the zombie run past each other, i swing my character 180 degrees to face behind and it clunks the zombie in the head literally everytime zombie hits the deck and i double tap him for the win Its childsplay, haven't you ever seen a zombie movie or TV Show., In the words of the great Rick Grimes : Aim for the head! -

shoot them with a 5mm or 7mm in leg jump off a small landing or height try to run up and down fire station stairs climb a ladder from a hospital roof to ground

its already fixed and working guys You just need to lower your overall sensitivetys in your config files as the scale is a bit high But confirmed, aim acceleration has been removed for about a week. mouse movement is smooth and intuitive, every gun reacts slightly different. Its smoother and on a par- actually better- than Arma 3 aiming now.

theres a few little villages up north that are already there actually,,, the new town will be central north, not east really.

if you are struggling to find Mosin ammo, that you would kill someone for some, you have very poor looting skills. That ammo is common and found in small huts, villages, piano houses as well as military areas and I'm carrying 60+ 7mm bullets and haven't been looking for it particulary. Its very common ammo -
if you put them both to the exact same number it will feel better,, if you check what number theyr on now, then try perhaps half of that number, or how much u feel less. Then back into game to test it. I cant say the exact number as I,m on my work PC< but i use 1100 d.p.i. mouse and i think Day Z sensitivety in my config is 1.1 or 1.4 , something like that

Melee is skill based now. i take down zombies in a single strike to the head then double tap them to finish them off. Aim about a metre above their head and to the right. Feels good when you take like 3 of them in a row with a single whack. -
Have the devs addressed the gamma night vision issue?

I think nights are very playable Yogi and much more fun than the day. If you have torches, weapon flashlight, headtorch and a lantern it is amazing and the light works very well. I think they should lock the brightness and gamma levels from going past about 60% of the way up and then work on a better fix in the mean time -

Yeah i cant wait for private and PVE servers, i really enjoy the exploring and loot side, if i want combat I'll go play Battlefield/ Arma 3.. Day Z is about surviving the Zombie Apocalypse with other friends and thats how i have my fun in the game I am part of a quite small but friendly EU Community called talkgeek., www.talkgeek.net if you want to join that, you just have to be 18 and be a friendly player If you fancy been part of a larger group that go out giving people aid and healing them, trusted medics of the wasteland do that and are a large group but require training and application www.tmwdayz.com (thats just a couple groups of top of my head that I play with. In both cases those groups dont shoot on sight random players and are quite friendly across the wastelands..) I know at talkgeek we plan to get our own server, once more options such as password server and tents/basic base is added. cheers -
they fixed the acceleration, so this thread succeeded. Go into My Documents/ Day Z/ yourname.dayzprofile and change Sensitivey X and Y to a number about 1.5 or similar

i have been saying that for a while. the exploit does not work as the person claims above. All the shadows will be a darker tone. You won't see objects or details within those tones. You may think you can see shit, but you cannot. A solid blue shadow is no different to solid black. I believe Arma 3 solved this already. -
thanks for the fix. Some people are still moaning because the in-game sensitivety scale is a bit high. I have changed my mouse setting in the config to 1.1 but the in-game option probaly starts at about 5 or 10 (too fast) Just needs scaling down accordingly so noobs can choose a lower option However the gun movement, aiming, and acceleration removal feels amazing, a great balance, well done development team. Puts the game ahead of the mods now in my opinion., Aiming and control is such a game-breaker for me.

I've only played a few quick goes on PS2 and can see that it can handle hundreds of players at once, the engine didnt lag a lot or glitch,i made a few kills, graphics seemed on par with Mass Effect 3 or a newer Halo..it was nice big environment. I can see it been a great engine for a zombie game. -
Don't get an Alienware, their made by Dell now and aren't very good as they used to. Op that computer looks very good and will probably run DAY Z and mostly ultra..however even the best PC's struggle in towns, suggest dropping some of the AO and AA options and lower view distance in your config..then you can probably get a consistent 60....I have a i5 4670K and a GTX 660 and I get constant 60FPS on Arma 3,. a game that has been optimisied, so i think for the future day z will become that smooth
