Mod zombies are shit though. Worse than Standalone zombies. Also mod is full of admins spawning gear and cheaters. if there were roaming hordes that attacked to gun shot noise people wouldnt be able to get away with blasting a noob in Berezino-they would be engulfed by a crowd of zombies that instantly kill them -
they just need to disable the 'self trigger' of the sounds and make it a proximity that other players trigger

i've played since last july when i got a PC..mostly Day Z epoch, then arma 3 breaking point and now this... I much more enjoyed the game playing with large groups and workign together..it certainly wasn't about a deathmatch then.. in fact end-game was more about getting a vechicle or 'base' stash to hide your gear.. and defending those areas.. Deathmatch seems to be what people who dont really like zombies games do..join Day Z and run around shooting people. ..just like any other FPS / Third person shooter / Action game. I like to think Day Z is a great game spoiled by the community.. even playing Standalone with a few people is fun just exploring and killing zeds Yes I believe if zombies were much harder we wouldnt have this problem..especially at night.. gamma/brightness should be locked and people should have to play through it...See how much KOS you get when people are un-armed from less guns and running from a horde of 50 zombies in the dark..it should be like walking dead but worse..hundreds of zombies that kill instantly is basically what they should aim for in my opinion

i want more zombies , hordes of zombies that actually attract to noise 1000m away. If someone shoots all the zombies in a 1000m circumference should start walking over and within 500m running over somethign like that -

Any updates on changing settings for zombies? Would like to see obviously more zombies, slower speed, and respawn We know you added headshot melee, so why not try a different balancing act with zombies every week until we find something that works? or just leave it broken until like 2015? -

look how long Arma 3 has been out. Its took them over a year to get to this stage and even write the plan we don't even have a plan with dates for Day Z we just have a video everyone says to watch where Rocket just talks about potential and things that could happen... all the good stuff is just roughly 'Quarter 3 or Quarter 4 2014 ' or in other words..could be ready anytime and probably delayed till 2015.. And the main thing that needs fixing...Zombie AI And pathfinding, i think that was Quarter 4 or 2015..just unbelievable how long they are going to leave broken zombies And yeah whoever said breaking point .. agreed that has way more KOS than Standalone and pretty much no interaction now due to the factions system its pretty much Wasteland with really lame teddy bear zombies... even though they have hordes the zombies are harmless. I prefer Standalone to breaking point even though that has vechicles its just feels cheap and ripped off to me -
Random Spawns along the south and rare spawns on the east please. I think the south west corner is a fairer and more fun spawn. More to explore etc. Most spawns should be right in the South West in my opinion, a few in South East by Stalistkey, and the rare very rare spawn should be Berezino.

Please no just get out this is a ZOMBIE game. At night zombies should be harder if anything. Its a survival game not a deathmatch thats what happens in the mod, pretty much most servers have an Admin that plays actively, with a team on the server. He can spawn any loot, build in-penetrable bases, teleport, and see where everyone is in map. When i played Epoch for a bit i thought we had a trustworthy admin but he would play god and shoot people randomly and spawn himself perfect loot. When day z standalone gives admins control i think they should disable spawning loot cheats and teleporting

i love to play on full cycle servers especially the speeded up ones. I play on one regularly and it takes 1 or 2 hours for a whole day and night. I carry a lantern and lots of gas, my 'bambi beacon'. Sometimes i knock the gamma/brightness up slightly but not all the way. I think it should be locked at around 60% that would be fine for people who have a bright room of reflection on their screen and not be too much of exploit. I notice that the server quickly empties at night as everyone s too scared. there is plentiful loot at all the airfields at night i find my best gear, raiding airfields with a bright lantern and headtorch is fun. I'd love to play a PVE server with day./night cycle

looking forward to playing both games, as a fan of the horror and zombie genres it is obvious both games could become fantastic in different ways...,Day Z for the hardcore almost simulation with eventually more customisation and private servers,..however currently..day z is a glorified deathmatch and is ruined by its community H1z1, more arcadey and MMO style..but that could mean larger, more epic world,, hopefully more focused on the zombies than PVP combat Both games have merits its easy to just take the popular hipster view and say DAY Z is so amazing but look at all the glitches and time your going to have to wait.. I can't handle more than an hour or two of Day z standalone in this state..just an empty world with really bad zombie A.i.... Although to be honest H1z1's world was looking empty and uninspiring, i just think they seem more focused and like their game will be made faster and not fucking around so much.

A company as large as Bohemia will have at least one, if not several, social media officers whose job it is to work on Facebook, twitter and forums. who can write to the public and do all the PR stuff. Day Z have just made a couple of million, they can easily have someone do that. There is plenty of funding available from 2 million + sales. I am available to hire if they are looking. Not only is that paramount importance for happy consumer communication, the game been in ALPHA is supposed to have lots of back and forth between dev and community and on-going critical feedback. we cannot do that without replies and reponses from B. I. And On their official forum would be better than REDDIT, which apparantly all developers have time to sit chatting on. I haven't got the time to go through endless reddit posts and I must say how dissapointing these forums have been, with no official posts about the updates, 64 x time, whats going on experimental, the update log was out of date for about a month not updated, no notes to when the new stuff is been released.,no response about experimental servers been down, no responses to many questions. COME ON DAY Z TEAM -
really good idea I would love this to get sorted out. It does seem quite simple coding wise. Disable all random sounds then only play them when another player is within a set distance.

Please dont listen to all the whiners, it is hard enough to find a server that isn't stuck on day. All servers should have complusory day/.night cycle in my opinion. Gamma/brightness should be locked. This is a zombie game, its not a walk in the park. Let's Av it. As to the guy above. It is very very rarely completely black. 90% of time is moonlight/lighter clouds and you can make out buildings and silhouettes. You spawn with a flashlight and battery. There is no reason for the moans. :D -

Yes they do. If you go on one of the two providers that DAY Z Standalone officially allow, they have warnings that B. I. Have set them, conditions such as No Password No kicking for your friends No Restarting for Loot constantly etc etc go and read all the terms. Then there are loads of servers blatantly doing password and kicking everyone that joins. i read about that everyday. I am aware that would be hard work to track. But Bohemia could easily put another clause to make servers warn players 10mins before restart. this would be easily to enforce and check.

Yeah I agree come on Rocket. the reason i think you should have a timer is it gives a sense of urgency to your last hours.they are already working on a suicide option, so you would be able to pull your trigger if happened and u didnt want to wait. However the small time to turn would give a chance to dump your items etc. Also if you got near another survivor it would be dangerous them playing with you 'till the end' but whether there is a delay or not. please add it. Its the only we're ever going to fear zombies, is if we get too close they infect us. Otherwise its always going to be a case of running past the zombies, playful melee, and only scared of bleeding, which always requires bandage, its too easy to just bleed We need bleed + Infection + major problems to make zombies scary even with the clipping through walls and faster than sprint, their Still too easy Well they need to drop that and re-write their story. its making the game into deathmatch. -

Some of the things i have witnessed or been part of: -naked fight club on a tower, -a running race along the coast, -10 fully armed samaritans going into elektro -defending a town from bandits -creating a little shop to trade -medical missions -bandit scouting -

to me this is little more than admitting you are a bored and immature individual with zero skill. that finds fun in making new spawns suffer, that is the definition of trolling or gangking, specifically playing to punish fresh spawns who have no gear. If you want to practise your aiming shoot zombies, but then they might hit you back. Pussy. Whats the point in playing Day Z at all? We don't need any of the advanced mechanics and may as well stop development now if everyone is going to play in this way. Just spawn everyone with a mosin, remove the zombies, remove the need for food and drink. Then you would have your game. You sir are a Noob of the lowest order :D -
Yeah can the servers get some kind of compulsory 10 min warning . this kind of sh!t undermines the whole experience. Me and a friend were d/c 'ed on a server restart yesterday without warning. When I log back in i am elsewhere down a road been battered by a zombie while the textures still load. By the time my fireaxe actually responds and gets out, i am bleeding with a ruined blue wool coat. You have no control over the servers and seem to be taking server rental money over looking after the consumers. -Many servers are blatantly against the rules and kicking people or using pass words -No one is giving us a warning of 10 minutes to restart- Why isn't this complusory? Dev Team: Are the rental charges more important than your players?

Yes, in a zombie apocalypse similar to Walking Dead or World War Z,,, Where the majority of Survivors are actually Dead, only about 1% of humanity remains...during the days the urban cities are clustefudged with zombies, hungry and moaning, if you fire a shot or shout at someone you can expect hundreds of them charging you down,,, most of humanity lives in small enclaves in the rural areas,, looting carefully and keeping quiet,., meeting another survivor would be a rarity as there is hardly anyone left in the apocalypse, try to survive on your own and see how long you can last, with no one watching your back while you eat or sleep, you wont last long in the zombie apocalypse. Look at recent events where the population is protesting against the government or come together for a common cause, or fight,, Ukraine for example,. or the protests Anonymous and Occupy..people are not as hostile as you think, and when there is a great danger you will see acts of heroism and bravery. There are of course those just waiting for a chance for anarchy and to inflict pain on others...however i like to look on the bright side.
