Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Arma 3 breaking point has dynamic loot spawning all over the map (with respawning loot) all custom made, it also has repairable vechicles, persistant items such as tents , safes, constructable boxes, hunting animals and everything else and on a larger map Altis with usually pretty stable . Im not a big fan of it anymore because the playerbase and factions makes it too PVP, but the point it has all the loot and more on a huge map, it has horde zombies and everything. As far as I know the Arma 3 mod is quite similar engine as a modified arma 2 engine like Day Z standalone uses. So I see they have done pretty much what i would like to see with standalone zombies, if they had the amounts of zombies same as breaking point but their own dangerous versions. Also I think Breaking Point switched to using an extra mod, a few months back which dynamicly spawns items/zombies within 2500mtr of the players so help server performance. So seems similar to the quadrant system Standalone wants to use. Also , has there been any official status updates as to when we might see at least some balancing on the zombies if not the sought after pathfinding updates, even if they could update the AI as they go it would be good or some feedback from developers as to when we might see a change. In their current form I don't think their balanced , even if walls were fixed, I think their max running speed should at least Not be faster than un-armed player sprint. It should be the same or preferably slightly slower than player sprint. as for armed player running they could be about that speed or slightly faster so you at least have a chance to out run. I obviously prefer a jogging or slower zombie but even an official infected shouldn't be able to outrun a fast healthy person sprinting. maybe we need a stamina bar that drains slowly as you sprint to balance it slightly. I think some form of stamina bar is needed to add but more -so when vechicles are in. -
I agree there should be no hide option and bodies shouldnt magically dissapear in 15 minutes either. It should be until server restart. It adds realism and gives you a chance of gear retrival., which to be honest is one of the most exciting, risky and best things about Day Z. the whole 15 minute thing just completely kills that whole meta game and kills a big spark of Day Z. I think it is noobifying the situation, making it so experienced players are punished for knowing how to get back to their body. Its a nooby rule I feel.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
well I'll argue it... Day Z mod even had acceptable levels of Zombies in towns..like 20 or 30 strong hordes and pretty much zombies dotted all over the streets. The Mod was acceptable. If we had as many zombies as that they wouldnt need to have a faster sprint speed than the character. At least equivalent, or jog speed is better. Breaking Point has bigger mobs of zombies and uses a system dynamic spawning to only render what is 2500 mtrs around the players. So you dont have the whole map spawned in everything at once. You dont need to swap loot for zombies. there are many methods to attain this. The Game can already handle acceptable mobs. I dont think you understand the game engine and what it is capable of. You can have 60 player games in Arma 2 where each player controls 10 AI. that is 600 player controlled AI + enemy Ai on the map. They are much more dynamic than homing missile zombies that have literally no AI other than speed and attack animation. Arma 3 engine isn't much different when it comes to items, lag and everything else. Why doesnt one of the developers come and enlighten us on the maximum loads. I have played variations of Arma 2: Day Z Mod that have extra Zombies., AI Patrols, heli Drops, shit loads of vechicles and buildings....And your saying 5000 zombies is not possible. I have to disagree. -

its pretty much the same engine, and it's a smaller map, why are you forcing your opinion? Most people here would like to see proper hordes of zombies and the zombies been a legit threat (and from what I read, people would prefer proper amounts of zombies) and not just a few tank zombies that charge around like Usain bolt. So either we all take your attitude- negative, nothing can be done, make do with a few zombies per square mile. Or we use the forums constructively, give ideas how to improve it, and also give our thoughts on how a proper 'zombiefied' Day Z would play... -

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
As I have said many times experiment with different speeds. the current speed is too fast for their bloody run animation. Looks like their on a treadmill. as i mentioned some games strike a nice balance at jog speed, where you could out run them whilst sprinting but they can catch you whilst jogging. And I think your wrong, Mid range or slow zombies would be fine and cause significant threat if done right and at optimal numbers. Basically, i dont think you played Breaking Point or listened to the points properly. Their zombies don't even aggro properly but have a good speed, and there is large hordes of them even on a super large map with no cover like Altis. If we had Day Z standalones zombies in their numbers, and a bit slower, they would be perfect amount of number and power. I would say slow them down to just below sprint speed so they would still catch you while jogging, or running with gun out, but so you can still out run them if sprinting flat out. I also think we should have some kind of stamina meter to prevent running forever. Black OPS zombies were also a good shout, they have a good mid range speed as I discussed earlier, they can keep up but not out sprint. The damage on those is perfect- 3 strikes and your down. I think DAY Z Zombies should have a 2 strike rule. Get strukc once-- you'll survive, but 50% chance of heavy bleeding. Get hit twice in quick succession, or without bandaging, and your going down. They need to be deadly and people shouldnt be risking getting hit by going up for the circle axe whack Finally they need to be able to turn faster on their radius. When we circle them they need to be a bit snappier animations and spin round quicker. As I have discussed previously, I would enlist a range of new elements to make the zombies far, far more challenging than they are currently while still reducing the speed slightly. As a veteran of many zombie games, I stand by my points that by simply whacking the speed of Z to faster than>Human Sprint, is a weak cop-out and instead of making the zombies a legitimate threat you have simply put speed up and turns them into homing missiles. It makes the games so shallow and basically like any hack and slash where enemies just spawn, lock onto the player, charge towards them spamming attack. Its a very shallow and 'easy' system in my opinion and unrealistic. I am bored of left 4 dead style gameplay. My ideas have been noted before so i will repeat the basics-= -jog speed, slightly below player sprint -stamina meter stops over-use sprint -zombies die head shot only. No 'cop out' maximum body damage. Head shot only by all fire arms and melee. -Infection from bites -2 slashes /hits is fatal -Zombies hearing is currently only 100m. I would make gunshots 1000m (all zombies within 1000m radius drawn to gunshots) even with slower zombies, if they aggro'd properly to noise and in a large circumference there would be a much greater threat than the current system Fast zombies= poor man's zombies -
yeah we know that Sherlock. Other players unpredictability brings a unique aspect to the game. Will people communicate or just kill one another? However there is no unpredictability with this community. Unless you know the person its pretty much a given they will just shoot on sight. What is the problem is literally 99% of the game players killing on sight as we may as well throw away all the survival aspects and just have a shitty deathmatch because that is what most the players seem to want to do
-
Horror Survival- zombies, dangerous environment, atmosphere, sound design... Yes as well as the danger from other players... PVP just describes a small part of the experience where as its really optional how you deal with other people , it isn't the main part of the game and the way people force that onto new players is only going to make the problem worse.. Killing on sight pretty much ruins this game to be honest. Obviously guns do damage, its a realistic game and i think we all enjoy the aspects of dealing with people and not knowing how they'll react..forcing people to deathmatch and saying the game is PVP from experienced players does not help the game or community at all., the game doesn't anywhere say it is PVP or versus and it is in fact worded carefully as a survival experience. If you cannot grasp that point then don't worry about it.

True Reason For East-Coast Spawns? Map Expansion?

tent city is so nice though... I like exploring the rest of the map!! at least i feel safer now once i get away from Noob/ Bandit ville -
not at all... Day Z is a free roam zombie survival game.. dissapointing to hear that from you..Dont ever try to force people to play PVP or tell them its PVP game because it quite simply is not.... People can play the way they want.. Its not mainly PVP Focused at all........ Not at all.. What you have is the Day Z Community are mostly focused on PVP, the Day Z community are a bunch of retards who cannot keep their gun in their pants... the day z community are too scared to attempt to communicate and would rather KILL anything that moves. Don't blame the game because the players are all dickheads. The game is open world and by no means supposed to be PVP...I would prefer to just play it PVE, on a private server with a no bandit rule...just because the community that plays is vile. and go read DAY Z Standalone's official website... Quote from buying page: DAYZ is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. Players can live through powerful events and emotions arising from the ever-evolving emergent gameplay. Where does it mention PVP? Where does it mention Player VS Player? Nowhere 'OPEN WORLD SURVIVAL HORROR' Not pvp. Vile community highlighted again in this thread full of absolute no brainers

Giving honest constructive feedback is actually GOING TO help . They look at our opinions and form judgements based on many players assessments. Looking at the majority of feedback in this thread (you call it 'complaining') I would say that not only has it been most constructive, and useful feedback from players with many hours we have also come up with more suggestions and solutions to KOS and other issues than the developers have in months. Reading through this thread and putting into practise the ideas selectively would fix many of the problems in Standalone. So no, Complaining will help, Constructive critism is how we improve upon products, and an alpha game is designed to allow people to help to shape and inspire the design choices taken in future.

be the change you want to see :) Many people believe flouride is good for my teeth should i shut up and drink it? People who get bullied should go out and bully? All my MPs (members of parliament) take expenses on taxpayers money and charge all their luxuries should I do the same? Victims of assault should go out and assault others rather than defending against that? You are a hypocrit

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
well if we have 50 players per servers as a ballpark,. and 100 zombies per player, that is 5000 zombies. I think that is doable Stop aiming so low with your expectations. Why can't we have large hordes and big numbers of Z's just like breaking point managed in arma 3. If they can do it standalone can piss all over it. -
I would..I feel Day Z community is tearing the game apart, and the developers are partly to blame They have not given us much in the way of team-friendly play, or items. But they have given us much in the way of PVP- combat, items. Nearly everything added to the game regulary is focused on guns and ammunition, and only fuels the PVP Deathmatch you have going on. The alpha warning is apparant, and you don't have to remind me about the game still been in active development. However from what we have seen so far, it isn't good and seems as if the game is been designed to be a PVP Deathmatch and less of the co-op survival game I had hoped for. There are guns everywhere from military bases , airfields where we would expect down to houses and sheds, everywhere has guns or ammo. You will typically find one in the first town. Melee is clunky and not responsive. The zombies AI is terrible. I could go on. Basically I would have at least expected zombies to not be running through walls at this stage. I have wrote other posts about how to improve the game drastically even using the current updates and tech. What pisses me off is they can change the zombie melee damage to only die from headshot but they cant try anything else? These zombies are supposed to be a temporary experiment, and they have left them broken for over a month...Why can';t you do a different zombie style every week or every update at least! for example lower their speed about 20% because their run animation is slower than the ground they run over (gives a treadmill effect)... or make them more powerful and slower..or fix the damn pathfinding...My character cant walk through a wall..so why can a zombie/?? - random events- heli crash, submarines loot, zombie hordes -Zombies a threat- zombies should equal the village they spawn sized accordingly- 2 or 3 zombies spawn per every house not 1 or 2 for the whole village -Most less fatal weaponary to reduce killing on sight- see stun guns, tazers, Bladed weapons, melee weapons improving (instead of Guns and lethal ammo) -Team work enabled movements- see, giving someone a leg up onto a high ledge/roof -carrying someone with a broken leg at walking speed rather than them crawling -dragging someone who is unconscious -cpr and chest compressions (and thats just off the top of my head) -Extra annoying is the developers not even bothering to keep the forums up to date,,, Updates are released with no patch notes...Developers use REDDIT instead of their official forum... the list goes on.

Yes we are, just the majority of the community seem to be immature exploiting little scrubs who can't even consider some people would enjoy to play a zombie survival game properly. I said in my previous posts the gamma/brightness should be locked at +60% on the scale. And even so, if you are in a night with no moon, inside or in forest, even with your BS gamma exploit you will not see anything in pitch black if there is no moonlight anyway,,, Obviously you and the guys haven;'t played much nighttime or you would know that.

Dead Island State of decay Left 4 dead (walking corpses Mod) Walking Dead Survival Instinct Arma 3: breaking point mod Resident evil 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 all have mostly slower enemies Silent Hill many slow enemies You can have a mid range zombie speed as well (like a jog) . Pretty much when standalone launched they were perfect running speed, just needed the amount of them and damage cranked up. I think a bite should be fatal, and a scrape should be 30-50% Damage. Yes I believe we can have more of slower zombies and not lag just fine. The amount of zombies seen in Breaking Point's Thirsk Map for example, would be about the correct scale, and it doesnt lag, they are just too pussy zombies on that mod, we need basically: -Standalone Zombies Attack moves and power, -Breaking Point's zombie Amount and Horde, and -DAY Z Standalone LAUNCH DAY Zombie SPEED. And tracking fixed =perfect for me. And i enjoyed the debate anyway. -
put it about halfway up and get your torch / lantern /; head torch out Not that many people play on night servers anyway, so chances are you'll meet a friendly with a torch out.

How to set up an autorun key in DayZ
agentneo replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
i know what you mean. It is a bit funky. I can tell you when i got home from office exactly. I think you create the macro,(press record) and hold W and Shift, then release them both (then stop record) then choose toggle (With no time delay inbetween repeat) i think as default there is a 0.2 time delay chosen there. you might have left them both held down and stopped recording without releasing them both,. -

Would you like "high grade stuff" be spread more around the map?
agentneo replied to St. Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
I would reduce gun spawns a bit it is ridiculous how much guns and ammo you got now. Balota and the two airfields are enough for the whole map, then you got piano houses, firestations, schools and many others. Too many guns -
hardcore is good . Empty night time servers mean no kill on sight. :D

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
A matter of opinion. I think fast zombies are simply a cop-out. A way for film and game producers to make their zombies instantly deadly without any thought about lore, immersion, or fun! I think slower zombies are infinetely more fun. Also in the walking dead they are more of a mid range 'jogger' almost., that can be classified as slow but a bit faster than Romero's... For example Left 4 dead 2.. try a mod called Walking Corpses..makes the zombies slow only, but they kill in 2 or 3 swipes and are even harder than on fast mode... Other games do fine with slow zombies , just need to increase the damage and numbers and you have more of a challenge. The fast zombies are just shit, no tactical engagement, they are like a homing missile that just spams towards you then explodes -

Again see my point above. there shouldnt be an area magically with no zombies. Zombies should be everywhere. Think about Berezino. Each house should have homed 1 or 2 people, possibly 3 or 4. So if you say 2 per house, and theres 100 houses, there should be 200 zombies in Berezino at server restart., More zombies should wander in the wilderness and surrounding area. I think the range zombies should hear a sniper eg. Mosin should be 1000-2000 metres. So if they opened fire outside the town they should have 200 zombies drawn towards their gun shot. They would have to move very quickly and abandon their position or become overwhelmed by raging zombies. -

No he lives on planet earth., where some people actually have humanity and a brain and fight for a common cause If you researched recent events for example you will see many examples of people been forced to protest or come together in almost anarchic situations against governments etc Cliven Bundy in nevada, Ukraine nationalists, Anti- war protests Anti Fracking movement in Barton United Kingdom US anti Fracking movement World Wide occupy movement Anonymous Legalise cannabis protests London 2014 Many more examples of peoiple coming together and forming alliances when times are tough and the shit hits the fan I hope your selfish little attitudes serves you well
