is there any approximate estimate of when we can expect the discussed zombie pathfinding to be patched into stable? -
I would like to think there will also be some awesome servers that cater to a more PVE crowd with increased zombies, and low loot / rare vechicles!

to be fair the 60 round clips are a bit over powered with the amount of ammo currently lootable, but it will be balanced in due time with more civilian and non-fatal weaponary, i would hope. The Ak coming up apparantly holds a 75 round clip with a special clip so that will be interesting. Its fairly balanced against the Mosin anyway, I like the m4. But the amount of guns and ammo overall in this stage probably makes it seem a bit OP.

While we discussing attachments. I have found many standard weapon flashlights but haven't figured out how to add them to the M4. My FNX also has a working pistol flashlight. It would be great if these were patched so we could hit the 'L' Key to toggle them on/off , Or be able to add them to the quickbar to toggle our lights on and off. Rather than having to go into our inventory every time. Similar, the 'T' Key to change fire semi/auto could do with an indicator to know if you've toggled it correctly, as it always defaults to auto if you change gun. So next to the zeroing could be a little S (semi) or A (Auto).

Alpha doesn't make a game immune to critism. As I posted on the previous page, I have given many suggestions on how I believe the game can be developed into more of a survival horror game, and less of a PVP Deathmatch Simulator. However, as we all want to cry and have a fit everytime someone gives some feedback, let's just accept the game as it is and enjoy playing this until 2015 or whenever they might release a patch. Thanks :D -

Even the Arma 3 alpha was much more professional than this, and didn't have glaring AI issues etc. To the guy above, I have read Alpha is end of the year, that wasn't anything to do with what i Said, however. yes I even mentioned Rockets Video saying Q2 etc as too vague,,, Would like them to start giving an Approximate Month (or day if you want to be professional team) estimate, for example, they could say something like this: Subject to Change Problem: Date Aimed For: Progress So Far: ~Zombie AI Pathfinding - Date aimed for july 2014 - Progress: ?? they require a head hit from axe now Get the idea? to give us some hope of when we can actually begin to play. In the almost 6 months since alpha launched what has been done to the most important thing in the game: ZOMBIES Firstly they walked , now they run, now they need a headshot. That doesn't seem like an awful lot of 'work' on zombies argulably the most important part of a zombie survival game. So if the team is so busy working on them don' t they have a schedule? Do they have weekly targets? Monthly target? Aiming to make zombies stop running through walls before which day? july? august? End of 2014 ? mid-2015??? You must have created a time line for your team and i don't see why that cannot be shared. All professional companies will need a plan, targets and schedules for their staff teams. -

Wow I agree. Some of the updates that should have been out in April never happened without explanation.. We stil don't know the ETA on important things such as Zombie pathfinding, Persistant items such as backpacks , and changes to the other systems Would be nice to have some dates added to their road map now as we are 6 months into 2014 almost and most the stuff that was penciled in hasn't been confirmed or given a date yet. The video where Rocket loosely announces things with Q2, Q3, Q4 etc , was never written up properly onto these forums or interpreted into monthly dates for example. Would give us somethign to look forward to and less moaning if you would pencil in some approx dates for those important patches because the alpha is quite unplayable at this stage and still costs £20 for the pleasure. Thanks! -

Just lock the sliders most people will not be arsed to change their monitor for one game, its just cos the sliders are so easy accessible and lazy people do it I am happy playing nights as they are and I feel every server should be required to have a full cycle (however fast they like) but not simply restarting always day time, i feel that is a cheat, nighttime brings so much more danger and not been able to snipe everyone at a mile away adds more strategy. I play on x64 server someitmes, and it is amazing how many pussies will leave every nighttime and then come back in during day. I think literally no one enjoys night and the community of day z is such a bunch of dishonourable Exploiters! Sorry to the good players but we seem to be the minority -

I feel they are far too focused on making Day Z standalone into a PVP game, focusing on adding weapons and things to harm one another rather than adding more elements to enhance co-operative play for people who prefer that style. I find the development is taking the game towards a much more 'selfish' pvp type mode. I hope the developers can reduce the vile community by increasing the environmental and zombie threat. -Water should need boiling or carry infection chance -Food reduced significantly - apocalyptic atmosphere needs adding all over the map -more dynamic weather- fog, snow, rain , wind - cold effects movement -Zombies should scale to the area . for example a town with 10 houses should spawn 20-30 zombies (2 or 3 per House). Spawn Zombies in the houses and buildings not in the middle of the street. this would make military areas harder (add many military zombies into airbases buidlings. Barracks should be FULL of zombies that burst out when you open the doors. -Allow people to do two player motions: -Leg up(lift someone over a high wall, onto a roof, etc etc) -Drag and carry (drag unconscious bodies from danger, carry someone over your back (with less movement speed) -Also two players should be able to stand either side of one injured and both share the carrying -Mountain bikes should be a fairly easy one to add before vechicles completely come in. They are likely to be un-modifiable and the repairs could be basic such as fix puncture or scrap metal etc. A small team could surely program the mountain bike over a few weeks rather than working on new guns and bullets. Would like to see a conscious effort from the developers to focus on creating a survival horror game and not a PVP deathmatch. That means resources must be extremely low and the threat must be extremely high. We are no where near that situation. ALPHA POLICE: everyone is quite aware this is a damn alpha. The thread was titled- do you think the developers are going the wrong way? That means looking at the alpha so far, do you feel this is going in the right direction? We are allowed to feedback on how we think it is going so far. OBVIOUSLY we know most of these things will change. that is why our feedback is actually useful/. Our thoughts and ideas might help to shape the future of the game. So why do the Alpha police have to start whining on each and every constructive feedback? Maybe you can;t handle hearing this, but the current state of DAY Z is complete BS. and I love the game, its probably my favourite game, however I can still see past the Sun shining out of Alpha Arse and state what I think should improve as an avid gamer and supporter / promoter of Day Z. -
You can use them but only when standing still Need to add animations for crouching etc

Whats the ETA? rockets reddit threads are fun and all but tend to be very 'concepty' and throwing around ideas he likes and want to see in the game... as for dates for us guys eager for the changes where is any hints or glimmers of hope? Absolutely nothing. The only thing I've heard where any dates are said is the video interview where the zombie AI Pathfinding update was not really specified and just given a Q2/ Q 3/ Q4..basically could be anytime upto 2015,,.which isn't soon as you said.,..so what is the ETA for soon?

loads of people are already doing this, i don't know how but they are.. i went on a google spree and find much information about Tunngle, LAN set up, private lan server etc. There is probably a way to host day z standalone from ur own computer & play it alone privately i think that should be in the game (to help training etc). just put a new button on main menu called practise and enable LAN lobbies for friends only. That is already in the game because people Are doing it.

Yes we know it is 'place holder' and 'alpha'. If anyone is going to say alpha on every thread they may as well not bother, because we already know that. But we can at least give feedback then it won;t get left as something we can just deal with forever like things in these games often are, not priority and left broken. So I agree OP and furthurmore I would like to see toggles in the options menu for this. -

yes i know its just what i would do if i was in the apocalypse and playing a round of poker. Yes i agree it would be little luxuries and things sought after, and definetly not gold or a currency of any kind like in epoch that kills immersion. real items not made up currency ...

nice one mate yea i keep trying to play day z and i really enjoy it even at this early stage i just feel like the developers should at least post once a week, its really not that hard and they have time, they are a professional development team at the end of the day they should be bothered to write 2 sentences saying when the next update is and when the big ones we want are. if you have sold 2 million copies of a game that community supports so strongly and the passion is amongst these forums and community. yet the team cannot be arsed to write a couple of sentences for the last few weeks, its 2 minutes of their time they can do on the tea break. have to say its pissing everyone off (not the LACK of updates but the fact they dont even bother to say whats going on anymore) The most recent thing I've seen is Rocket's interview where we throws around a lot of concepts and a lot of 'Quarter 1 Quarter 2 ;' with nothing firm said. it all seemed quite vague and didn't tie themselfs down to anything. So if your out there developers or forum admins can you give us an estimate of when your next Experimental/ Stable updates will be taking place, what new features will be added and when we can expect to see the zombie AI pathfinding fix as that is the crucial bug that is gamebreakign and making your alpha took terribly unprofessional. -
