In real life I can do a 360 in under a second and 180 instantly. People are agile. They Have removed it!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this still a debate, its been fixed for weeks, aiming has less acceleration than Arma 3 and so much better than Arma 2 or Day Z mod..it feels nice now You probably have your overall sensitivity (note, sensitivity, Not acceleration) too high, as the sliders on the lowest are still high. Go into your profile config (thats My Documents/ Day Z other profiles OR / Day Z profiles) Open the config file , find mouse sensitity X/ y set them both to about 1.1... Profit
-
I think the OP of this thread was major confused saying they added acceleration when they had just removed it...Its simply because their overall sensitivity is too high! Change it in the configs and its fine. Also for people moaning that its too quick/unrealistic.. People are agile. I can turn 180 in an instance and do a full 360 rotation in full gear in about half a second..

Should walkie talkies have text chat?
agentneo replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
I vote No. Im sorry but this is a step too far for me personally. I want them to seriously limit spam/ messages popping up. Players should buy a mic, or not take part in the walkie talkies. For example, if you are deaf or have speaking problems you can use team speak on a seperate monitor and converse text through that. I think we should keep the game as hardcore as possible. I agree the majority of the people who don't use a mic are the bad players who KOS. I give them a few seconds to lower their gun and type 'friendly' but if they haven;'t got a mic Im already aimed at them and they aren't trustworthy imo -
Why didn't you ask him for food you absolute noob! there are water pumps and lakes every 5 minutes so you shouldn't require water. The food spawns are literally everywhere in every town. if you are struggling to find food & water you definetely aren't doing it right.

Zombies are too hard (defending my opinion)
agentneo replied to JosephHabib's topic in General Discussion
I think they should much stronger and also be able to bite the player with a risk of infection Melee'ing a zombie should be risky and a last resort in 'real life' They should be able to headbut, chomp with their teeth and also do like a low bite/kick for some variety. We could eventually have a parry (roll dodge) and a simple block with melee + a stamina bar for more deeper combat system -
The point of the alpha is actually to get as many of us to stress test the game, find faults and things that need improving, and record our thoughts here on the official forum. If everyone took your grumpy view then nothing would get reported, no bugs would get fixed, and no debate about improving the game would take place. We all support the Devs as much as you when we paid our Alpha fee and its not hate when we're suggesting constructive feedback to improve the game. Alpha or not, improvements and tweaks can be made, this could be far less of a deathmatch and more about co-operative survival already, yet the focus is more on extra weapons and easy to survive environment. I think your the one who needs the gag! Actually write something constructive about the game and not focus on the bad community all the time.

Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?
agentneo replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
This is about balancing the game so that it actually feels like a zombie apocalypse. Games like Fallout, Stalker, Project Zomboid and 7 days to die, all have much better loot balance than Day Z and some of those are also alpha. Basically, there is way too much guns and ammo everywhere. Secondly., there is way too many canned food goods. Its apocalypse, most of the towns should be desitute and already looted. With Animals hunting , and respawning loot shortly, we need a lower base level for loot. As it currently is + respawning would be so easy. You can survive easily just with a few cans of food, drinking water from wells constantly hydrated and energised,. its too easy. I never had to ask a friend 'please can i borrow 2 canteens.' or for food, because its so easy to find. If everything was rarer, people would have to be careful and ration their supplies. Bullets need to be rare to reduce the amount of KOS. everyone is walking around like a super soldier with endless ammo boxes and multiple weapons. To kill an animal, as you expressed, all i need to do is hit it once with a hatchet or fire a cross bow at it. I dont need bullets everywhere. Perhaps 'Hardcore' mode needs to actually start been hardcore for people who want a difficult zombie survival game (and not a 'deathmatch' with loot and bullets spawning everywhere) Yes I know its alpha, things balance etc,... The Point is. It's best to start balancing now, its only going to get worse with more and more guns added- eg. AK with 75 drum mag - you think thats going to help everyone trigger happy KOS paranoia. We need more stuff to encourage team play and co-peration.,i have said my ideas many times... in summary they are: -harder and more of zombies (2 or 3 zombies spawning in every house for realism population to zombie ratio) -Firing a gun should attract zombies within 1000m , not 100m as currently. Firing a gun should have such huge consequence of hordes it is discouraged.! -zombies can bite and infect -Zombies sprint speed is slightly below player un-armed sprint, but slightly above player armed / jog -infection chance from un-boiled water -food goes stale or rotten after a few days -Ammunition and guns spawn reduce drastically -more melee and non fatal weapons- stun gun, tazers, machete, rubber bullets, etc etc -Zombies Die from headshot / head melee only (essential to make zombies a threat) i could go on. Basically the harder the game the more chance of people working together. Also ,. the game isn't much fun once your fully geared and running around like Rambo. The time to go from Noob with no items, to Rambo, should be much longer and not a 'walk in the park'. Try harder! -
Experimental brings us hunting, do you want to know what this means?
agentneo replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
Yes yes yes, now they begin to understand Survival is far too easy. We need food and drinks about 10% of the level they are now. Reduce everything by 90 % . Make a hardcore survival please. On a fresh server restart there is ridiculous quantities of loot in every single building. -Some buildings should be empty -I should have to go nthrough several towns not just one to gear up -Water should require me to boil it on a fire otherwise risk 50% infection chance -Cooked food steaks should go stale in a few days and carry infection chance I know a lot of people ask them to add more and more stuff, making them game easier, vechicles, weapons etc etc. but I want to shout out here for all the guys that want a truely difficult zombie game, me and my group want the zombies to be a serious threat, not a joke that you can run rings around. I want to run away from zombies, not charge at them with an axe for a onetap knockout. Its too easy , and thats why PVP ruins the game and turns it into deathmatch. Please increase the game challenge- environmental- lack of items - and zombie difficulty .... drastically harder. people should be dying ten mins after spawning repeatedly. Its supposed to be hard.!!! Thanks! -

yes its a new survivally game, single player to begin with on Steam greenlight. You have to build a shelter and defend against cannibals. It looks a bit like 'Lost' crossed with 'Cannibal Holocaust.' -
How many folks went back to playing the Mod until SA goes to Beta?
agentneo replied to AdmiralBull's topic in General Discussion
Admins that hack themselfs gear constantly and hackers that blow up my base and vehicles multiple times put me right off Epoch -
This would be good i think there should be a single player / local co-op training mode which writes the basics on screen and lets you practise offline. It gives people a chance to still play when their offline or away from connection, helps noobs to learn the game, and gives you somethin fun to try with your friends when you dont want to go on the deathmatch servers. Its also not really anything new or difficult to code? The other Arma games allow this and its a real let down for me not been able to host up a local or private single player version.

I really like the shotgun..I think it has a super wide spread especially on sawn off so best to use point blank. I made a couple of kills with it and I like keeping one in the backpack. Awesome gun. Maybe spread needs tightening slightly, but all the guns need the random deviation fixing

Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?
agentneo replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I think the Arma 3 engine is a lot better than Arma 2 / Standalone, and would have made a much better base for the game However, the Standalone has already fixed the main thing that makes it worse imo (the aim acceleration) and completely reskinning the characters and inventory look much better (although, these might have come out EVEN better in Arma 3). So I agree somewhat..But i like the way its gone anyway. I think the vechicles in Arma 3 are far better controlled so will be interesting to see how they handle on Standalone. Also, there are small things in Arma 3 that are very annoying, such as having to un-toggle sprint everytime u aim and move, it should be automatic like. Finally, the arma 3 signature map Altis.. its probably the best map ever made in Arma..i know a lot of people dislike it. But its so big, and varied. And would easily handle 100+ players. It also handles vechicles and Heli's more because its so big.. -

that example is a really small issue ..The more important thing was the rubber banding..but i think that is been seen to. We are all signed up to play an ALPHA in development. I dont see why there is even two stable/ experimental. It could all be experimental as far as im concerned, or let the server admin choose Experimental/Stable. So I would rather have all the stuff in experimental pushed through to Stable ASAP yes. I dont mind about small bugs with mag for AK, that can be patched fairly easily and isn't a major gamebreaker. Having access to the hunting, fireplace etc for everyone will really benefit the whole game, and it will get everyone playing DAY Z Again. Its too hard trying to get on experimental servers when their all full and getting lag spammed So YES! -
How about map is developed so that you can combine a pen with it and write on it. It can be a similar way to in Arma 3 when you double click the map it puts a X and allows you to write a note. You could then even give people your map with notes on or mark areas of interest etc.

An easier way to switch between builds would be gratefully received.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Zombies or infected will hobble along with one leg hanging off. they will not drop to the floor in agony. They will crawl along with no legs if they have to. Their not people! -

I can hit them just fine but I know what you mean about the random deviation. i think that is placeholder and they will adjust those later? I usually shoot them about 100m but I've hit longer shots with the M4 acog. The FNX pistol however is horrible accuracy. Anything over about 30m and it doesn't connect at all. Either way you can still headshots Ok and its not reason to make the zombies one shot from anything? -
the player list has some uses to be honest. For groups and playing with friends you need it to check your on the correct server. Maybe this could eventually be a server side admin choice once people have more options rather than forced onto everyone.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
agentneo replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Well even so, if they are en-raged humans, like in 28 days later. Those b*stards will run at you even with their leg hanging off. They are infected and relentless and shouldn't feel pain unless fully exterminated. So in faireness a limb shot shouldn't be fatal especially from a small pistol. Maybe several shots to the chest, or headshot only as a balance. But I think one shot to any limb (as it is currently) as far too easy. I am accepting the fire axe can be one melee only as its a heavy and somewhat the best melee weapon. However common pistols and every gun (apart from 22 which i feel is nicely balanced) can one shot a zombie anywhere, this is a bit easy. -
Well we dont have vechicles yet. They could use walkie talkies which are in game but anyway, digressing. Its not nearly as bad as people make out. If you want to claim the realism argument there are many things that are unrealistic about in game voice chat and its not realistic to hear someone privately talking to their team mate from 100m away.
