    I have to disagree, as a designer I always have to follow strict deadlines and Day Z team made a dev roadmap earlier in the year which showed their date estimates and targets. They must have dates they aim for and schedule work, though I am aware projects can take longer and problems occur. For me personally it is really great if they could put a month next to when each thing is coming so I can plan my gaming time and work schedule accordingly, And also it is when these major changes occur to 1/ zombie pathfinding and 2/persistant items that many players will want to play and communities will be informed. It really does help the community to know when we can expect said updates having shown our support by donating to this alpha I would expect them to state dates as to when I can expect the full game to be delivered as promised, and paid for! (approximately, with warnings of been late)

    i use 660,, i get between 40-60 fps. go into Configs and reduce view distance to 1800 instead of 3000. Players only render at 1000 anyway

    Q: When are you looking at getting the new engine into experimental and then pushed out to stable. Rocket: It will kind of come in a modular fashion over time. ......Brilliant, no date or even rough estimate given as usual

    Mod is still better than the SA

    Personally I prefer Standalone and I don't think mod is more hardcore, I think it is less hardcore...Standalone usually has restricted and busy servers where as in the mod most the servers have either Too many vechicles Loot everywhere Admins that cheat Also, the mod zombies are worse than Standalone imo, I hate the way they run, their hit detection is the laggiest buggiest combat ever seen in a game, usually they hit me from several metres away...They dodge bullets and act stupid..I much prefer standalone zombies even when they are running through the wall... the other thing that puts me off Arma 2 compeltely: aim acceleration. So much better aiming and movement in the standalone already... Not to mention the improved inventory and UI, better graphics on characters and items, reworked medic system (no magic bloodbag anymore)... Day Z mod seems very dated compared to the Standalone.

    Hardly, its actually someone thinking out the box to try and deal with this awful community. People are not communicating and walking around like its death match so something needs to be done to alter the collective mindset. I dont think this idea is it, in fact i ve said mine many times about the zombies and environment been too casual. but at least its a good debate and got a few people wound up (who obviously can't understand the neccesity for a mic in Day Z...)

    these are all complete bs reasons . If they can afford day z they can afford a mic. I kinda agree with OP but I wouldnt push it just due to some people possibly been deaf or not able to speak. Again i look forward to future private servers where having a mic and other rules could be part of the servers own rule set
  7. Everyone knows a zombie aint dangerous what are you smoking? Zombies are a constant threat and in every zombie film / series several of the main protagonists will get eaten alive thinking carelessly like you are. They should infect you with a scrape or bite which means they are completely dangerous at close range and a single scrape off a real zombie would mean your f'ed Like gentleman above said there is this 'trendy' popular element which seems to forgive Day Z for all it's clunkiness and glitches because "its Day Z"...

    Yes I think it would 'balance' areas like Balota tents, and all the Barracks, if they were packed with Soldier zombies and even body armour zombies like in TWD. Opening the barracks a big angry horde should spill out and then people would need a crew to even go there

I have summarised my zombies tweaks I would love to see a lot more challenge when it comes to the zombies. -Firing a bullet should draw almost hundreds of them from a huge 1 or 2km range -zombies should KILL in 2 or 3 swipes only, and bite with 50% chance of infection. More varied attacks (low kick or swipe, lunch bite, bite your arm if you punch) -Amounts of zombies should be thick and heavy , 0-6 zombies per every building in towns, military buildings and barracks should be filled up with soldier zombies -also we need stamina system considering soon? to stop people going rambo on zombies -with stamina then: Zombies can outrun someone jogging with gun out, but people can outrun zombie with weapons put on back and sprinting. No one should be charging towards zombies, they should be running scared. Punching zombies in the head should be impossible!

  11. H1z1 didn't say they will do groups or friendly tags. I think you are misinformed. They are debating many of their systems on reddit but they have said many times! You will NOT be able to spawn on top of your friends or anything stupid like that. its quite a serious game, I dont think its going to be so casual, I think slightly more arcadey mechanics than Day Z (like thats a bad thing?!) . It looks to have smooth aiming and responsive shooting which is the main thing for me, I like a good control system. They have also stated many times they want the zombies to be a genuine threat, unlike day z and breaking point where the zombies are always easy- in fact in experimental build they are back to one hit from a fire axe, and they die one bullet anywhere on body. I'd much rather have harder zombies that force people to co-operate above all else as priority and H1z1 claim to be building that. Why aren't Day Z zombies head shot only from a pistol or M4? I just don't get why people want them to die when we shoot them in the foot. They should be HARD to kill do the devs even watch the walking dead or 28 days later? I want to scream while running away from zombies, not do a dance around them tapping them once with an axe. Also breaking point does this faction system and its not fine. The whole group thing is OK (as in tag a friend once you both agree) and a fair system BUT their faction system is broken, ruins the game. this means everyone has recognisable outfit. I much prefer the 'not knowing' what someone is, just from their outfit. In some ways a group system spoils that surprise, also, and I'd much rather we had nothing like that! It will increase KOS in my opinion as people will only be nice to their friends.

    Umm Loads i left so many things behind I only take ammo for the guns I have and seen other weapons especially in Svet and Bere theres lots of fire stations / piano houses. The further you go west (even Elektro and Cherno on 40/40 Experimental) the less and less people venture down there. There is a lot of loot and it isn't even respawning.

    Lol no you cannot, It depends on the person and nationality...In England each city almost has its own accent that sounds different..you could tell what town someone is from but not their ethnicity..this depends on how long they have lived here..their peers etc..It is a very long debate i can't sum up in a few lines

    This is hilarious ?! How do you know they are pretending to be black and not actually black?! How do you know Eastern european accent couldn't be black person or a chick? I think it depends on the individual (nationalist?). there is quite a few people protesting against their government and certainly not 'nationalists'...

    yes much more important. I know several good friends from eastern europe and play often with guys from Finland,sweden, czech and have even a couple of friendly Russians on my list! It is more about how they compose themself in the game there is some body language for example lower/raise gun./ running at me, or taking it nice and steady with gun put away Also I have had a couple of incidents where someone shouts friendly before promptly shooting me. They were all American's on experimental! It is interesting to hear about people's experiences with different nations and cultures and which people assume are harder to trust or have a larger percentage of 'troll' gamers. I found it interesting debate! People shouldn't be offended so easily- we know everyone is different and the Day Z community is no representation of a nation as a whole (lol). It would show most in a very negative light seeing as most Day Z players are kos bandits, whatever their nationality!!!
  17. I dont know about xbox pad on standalone sorry!!! but I use my G13 on stable branch for infantry movement analog yes. It didn't work on Experimental (had to change back to WSAD) but works on Stable. I have posted that issue so hopefully they fixed it. But i assume if my G13 works then ur xbox pad should work too mate

  19. Thats not the debate here, there are legit uses for controller, for example i use G13 for character movement with a mouse on the side for aiming... Some people use a controller this way with a mouse to aim..some people have a controller on the side for vehicles in the other Arma's... if we want a controller VS keyboard/mouse debate thats another topic- but WSAD is not nearly as good as a joystick for character movement... One can move in 360 degrees and gradually change their player from walk to sprint..one can raid a house without toggling to walk..just push the stick less.,.it helps massively for positioning your character or when looting..So learn about something before you hating :D

  21. i'd rather see zombies spawn IN buildings as well as on the roads. This way it makes looting a challenge. Each town should randomly spawn between 0-6 zombies per building. Military barracks and control towers should be ram full of soldier zombies, so you have to think twice before raiding them. This would add realism to the amount of zombies (balanced per building amount). It would spawn them out of site, so when you open the house door they are in there. And you could also not respawn them into house which have door opened, to allow clearing of towns. I see this as a good solution for some of the problems.

    Lol you want to see my character on experimental? When I logged out last i was fully geared with wood, matches, 8 steaks, M4, magnum etc.... your a Joker. I have played a fair bit of that experimental on full servers and got fully geared up EASILY. you can get food from animals and all you need is an axe & matches,, which admittedly are a bit rare but still easy enough... Most people are stupid enough to just stay in the new town and Berezino and get shot..however i move over to the west and find plenty of loot...

    Well , there is two guys moaning about it saying it makes the aiming TOO easy.,.now i understand..So before they fixed it many people moaned because it felt truely awful... So they did some great work and removed some of that unrealisticly heavy aiming. Now you can turn more quickly and responsively, as is the way in the Arma 3 engine. The guns still have some weight, they drag behind the characters head speed. The overall sensitivity is just a bit high. No the aiming is not shit now. I can't believe people preffered it before, but the point of this thread was to have it removed, which it has been. Thankyou Day Z team, Aiming is good. I expect they will rebalance it later maybe a middle ground but the way it is in the day z mod, is truely terrible, Arma 3 aiming is way better than Arma 2 aiming, and I am glad Standalone is getting that way. As for sprinting-stamina will surely be added later. Most players would prefer to have smooth mouse movement and not a clunky aiming system for the sake of realism. You can read the posts previously and many other players including me and everyone on my friends list who wanted this sh*t removing.

    Should walkie talkies have text chat?

    It will be frustrating, I want them to keep the game with no hud and immersive , realistic. 1. a walkie talkie is not a pager. The satiellite systems and phone masts which deal with pagers and SMS do not work for walkie talkies, which are a two way radio 2. I dont want to see stupid text messages popping up in the corner like in the mod with people crying about been killed etc 3. if they wanted to do this, do it immersively and realisticly. So your character should pull the walkie talkie out his pocket, make it take up the whole screen, with the message displayed on the actual walkie talkie. I'd also prefer the inventory this way- i dont know if you've all been playing The Forest (fantastic game) but their inventory is damn perfect. using inventory displays your bag on a rug, with all the belongings, so you can't see whats going on in the game whilst looking at it.

    Its not about been prone though its about stood up, and yeah if stood up with a backpack on holding a gun I can turn almost instantly. Dont forget in real life its different as u can tilt your shoulders and put one leg behind the other but in a game your just spinning . Watch some videos of real soldiers training and shooting training, people can turn quickly in an instance. of course prone can have a slower turn than crouching, and crouching slightly slower than standing. I didn't mention prone. , whats your problem, they fixed the issue, the gun turns slightly slower than the character to give it slightly more weight anyway.
