  1. Someone compared Chernoruss to Czech Republic, from what I understand only the terrain was modeled after Czech Republic. CDF however has a lot of similarities with Ukrainian military, even flags on the shoulders similar. There fore there should not be that many western weapons and gear, however there should be some post soviet Chernarussian designed equipment similar to Ukrainian gear.

  2. Do you live in the country or in a city because I wanted to ask you what kind of guns are most common in the villages and is it true that most houses have some weapon?

Majority of civilian firearms are either sporting or hunting weapons to get any other firearms you need to have special permit given to police, military and security. Firearms are not as common in Ukraine as in US or other countries. To tell you the truth dayz is very real representation of Ukraine or any other ex Soviet country, the firearms you find in dayz could be found among civilian population except M4, the environment is also very similar in fact Chernogorsk is very similar to the city I am from (Dneprodzerdzhinsk) even the drink Rasputin kvas is very accurately represented.

  3. I don't think it would be politically correct to adopt ideas from that "protest"

As an Ukrainian I can say that I don't think it would be a big deal. Besides ArmA2 and Dayz SA already use military uniforms that based on Ukrainian

  4. People might not agree with me but in order to survive you need to take out anyone who has a firearm, or anyone who does not respect your personal space, and the safest way to initiate dialogue is when you have an upper hand. I personally would have shot the guy the minute i saw him not because i like KOS but because he was armed and there was no way out.

  5. It may be an Alpha test but it is paid. You can be certain a large proportion of the current 'testers' won't return. It was foolish to 'release' in this state imo.

Arma 3 was put through the same testing process and it was a huge success, It was buggy as hell when Alpha came out yet it has thriving community.

  6. Maintaining 360 degree SA not withstanding, fire team and squad level tactics are great if you're mobbed up.

    Alone, not so much.

Well even if you all by yourself some of the techniques can be applied to the game play like how not to sky line, avoid open areas and scan potential enemy positions,

  7. Except is DayZ, not ArmA.

I know it uses the same Engine, basically the same, but its a whole different game.

I know its DayZ but the game mechanics are the same, I guarantee if you pick up ArmA 2 or 3 you will feel at home within 30 minutes.

Cool video . It's always nice to have some combat advice . I recommend you to see some '' How to contact with other survivors '' videos too , unless you want to have the KOS Mentality .

This will work for any play stile, if you are survivor you don't want be seen unless you choose to and If you want to KOS this will help you assess the threat level your target presents.

  8. I am a new player to DayZ however extensive experience with ArmA series made it very easy to get in to the game, figure out game mechanics and tactics. The tactical aspect of ArmA also made it easier to survive player encounters. However since many new players never played ArmA or DayZ mod I feel like this video from one of the ArmA's community leaders could teach newcomers a thing or two.
