I'd also like to see the handcuffs take longer to get out. I had a guy break out of them within 5 seconds of being cuffed and then ran off. Couldn't catch the speedy bastard after that.

I had someone give me the wrong blood once. It made me sick and I died within 10 seconds. ABANDON ALL HOPE

I was not in first person when I did it so I don't actually think you 100% need to be. Just don't spam too much or you will get sick :thumbsup:

You can indeed drink directly from a pond without a canteen or water bottle. You have to be near where the water starts until you see the scroll option, then hit F. It's picky but if you move around enough you'll eventually see it.

Good tips, I'd also recommend dressing as a survivor. Less intimidating if you're wearing a plaid shirt or raincoat than full military gear with a mask or something.

Personally, when I see someone decked out in all tactical gear wearing a mask/gas mask and a helmet, I see them as an instant threat because they look like they're ready for a fight. For the past few days I've been ditching the "tactical" look and have been sticking to more survivor looking clothes. The result has been less KOS. Wether that's from me just meeting more friendly people and less bandits by random chance is unknown, but I think it plays a factor when you look less military like. Just my opinion.

If he didn't do it before you tried to kill him he would have done it after you killed him so you couldn't loot his body. Maybe don't point your gun at people unless you're going to shoot, looks threatening.

Then don't interact with them. Run off and loot somewhere else, or hide and wait until they leave, or yell for them to drop their weapon and if they don't THEN shoot them because you know they have bad intentions. Blindly shooting everyone in a SURVIVAL game is stupid.

I just flat out don't understand how shooting someone who calls out friendly is more fun than keeping them alive and doing bad things to them. Or at least pretending to be friends only to lead them into a trap or backstab them after a while. At least have fun with it for the love of god.

I think the devs are doing the best they can to try and avoid that whole "I'm fully geared with nothing to do I'm going to kill everything I see now" mentality. When the new big features start rolling out hopefully it will cut down on that. But lets be honest here, the game is turning into a giant free for all for the time being, and will probably stay that way regardless of new features. Step 1: Gear up. Step 2: Kill anything you see. Step 3. Rinse and repeat. Sad.

There was once a group of 3 friends running down the road. Looking to hand out basic supplies to fresh spawns. They met their other friend outside Cherno, who had been unconscious from blood loss. Luckily, some friendly survivors found him and fixed him up. The group of 6 then set out to help more people. The group stumbled upon two more survivors and took them in. Giving them supplies and protection. The group grew stronger and closer. They headed to Balota to continue the friendly search for new players seeking help. When they finally reached Balota, one of the group members found a gun and shot many of the rest until the group fell apart and scattered. Such is life in DayZ.

Don't go for weapons right away. Learn the map, learn where to find loot and try to survive. Worry about guns and shooting people later. You need to walk before you can run.
