I have the same problem. Very tough to get used to and is part of the reason im currently taking a break from the game. I've seen somewhere that they're working on a fix for it though. Hang in there!

Guess you didn't read the steam info before buying? "THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING." -
Do you believe people who shoot on sight are terrible at DayZ?

Generic name is generic. You might also want to correct the spelling in your post. Might attract more people. :) -
I've managed to stay alive through quite a few robberies by just cooperating and essentially being nice. People are always more inclined to kill those who are acting "tough" so to speak or cursing at them and getting angry. Of course, there are people who will just blow your head off anyway so all you can do is hope they show mercy. If they say they are going to kill me, I will try and either run or take one of them out before they do. Better to go down swinging!

One Kill On Sight Thread To Rule Them All!
Verex11 replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I just finished watching a video where I think the guy sums it up how I feel. "Any Neanderthal can kill on sight. It takes real skill to risk your life to make a new friend, especially when you only return fire when you have been engaged. That said you must respect your opponent. If bandits didn't exist we wouldn't have any competition in DayZ so you cant diss them too much." -
That's damn rough. :( :beans:

I hear Arma is also a good spot to go if you'd like to shoot anything that moves, and leave the surviving and playing the game how it's meant to be played to everyone else.
-
I find them to be wise words about what could be potentially changed for the better. You're more than welcome to make your own topic about 20 things that need doing / addressing / fixing.

"Fixes and additions are of course welcome, but DayZ is at its best when everyone playing it has bought into the survivalist fantasy. Right now the game needs re-balancing in ways that enforce that kind of behaviour. Too often I'll be slowly exploring a town only to see another new survivor sprinting bow-legged towards me without a care in the world, because that survivor doesn't yet have anything of value to protect, knows they can outrun any zombie they aggro, and can more quickly search houses that way. It's also common to have new survivors come up to you and beg you to kill them, if there aren't any tall buildings around that allow them to do it themselves, so they can respawn at a hopefully better location. All of this undercuts the central conceit that you're vulnerable and your life is valuable." Graham Smith, Rock Paper Shotgun

A small feature that would make partying up much easier in DayZ

There's always the option to kill yourself to get a better spawn. It's really not that hard to link up with friends.
