    Dropping items on the ground

I find much more success by dragging items completely off of the inventory screen instead of onto the 'Vicinity' section. For instance, if I drag a bottle of water from my backpack all the way off to the far right of my screen, it shows up in 'Vicinity' darn near instantly. If I drag that same bottle of water to the 'Vicinity' section myself, it takes forever to show up.

    Regenerating Blood [Question]

A couple of good thoughts here: While I HAD been attacked by a zombie earlier in my play session, I had used some antibiotics and eventually received the green "My wounds are clean" message. This happened at around 2am, and by 5am I still hadn't regained color yet.

    Regenerating Blood [Question]

For the record, this was at about 5am this morning when it was daylight on my server.
  4. Hey guys, I don't know how many of you ran into this issue in the mod, but I remember times where I'd lose a ton of blood and my screen would go all 1940's grayscale on me. I'm talking a ton of blood loss--like I was at 300/12000. My brother would come blood bag me or I'd eat a bunch of steaks, but the audio and visual effects of low blood (muffled sound volume, fuzzy post-processing, grayscale) would remain. Sometimes when a server would restart it would fix the issue, sometimes not. The reason I mention this is because I'm having trouble regenerating blood in SA--or at least I think I am. I don't really have any monitor for blood level so I can't be sure. But last night I was brutally attacked by an unarmed assailant while I was AFK getting some more water downstairs--he put me into low blood where my vision was quite blurry and my color had faded. After I taught the guy a lesson with my M4A1 I ate 4 whole cans of pristine-grade spaghetti and chugged water at a nearby water pump. Eventually I got a message saying that I felt absolutely stuffed. The status indicators in my inventory screen indicating my thirst and hunger went away, and I sat down in a house to regenerate my blood. Fast forward 2 or 3 hours of sitting in that house or crouch-walking between buildings looking for other food to keep my belly full and my screen is still gray (though the added blur is no longer there). I eat a can of food and drink some water every 15 minutes or so to keep my status at "I feel absolutely stuffed" but I don't seem to be getting any more color. I guess my question is: has anyone had success regenerating blood by satisfying hunger/thirst alone? If so, how long did it take you to do so? Since I don't have any debug monitors for blood, hunger, thirst, etc. I can't accurately discern what is going on under the hood for my character. To be honest, I'm not even concerned with this problem for myself--I'm just trying to help test the game and if this is a bug I'd like to report it. Thanks for any insight you guys can provide!

Why is the game in real time?

I actually wish the ENTIRE game was played at night...with no options to screw around with gamma/brightness. Just temporary light sources and darkness. To me, it makes looting a village 92034029342309% more interesting when I can't see 20 meters in front of me much less the other side of town. I think the lighting effects of light sources like the flashlight and lamp look really nice, too (see exceptions below). It makes the game MUCH harder and makes shooting other players a lot more difficult. That assault rifle you found in Balota won't do you much good if you can't see the dude you're trying to kill--and I'm okay with that. I like the fact that I can escape to the shadows of the trees and if my hunter wants to find me he needs to reveal himself with a flashlight or be lucky enough to get some night vision goggles. I like the fact that in order to loot villages I have to turn on my flashlight and alert others to my position. All that being said, this all hinges on making the light sources work properly. Currently, they shine through walls forever and don't illuminate objects correctly. If these two issues could be fixed, I would LOVE a 24/7 night server. Just my two cents...

    Unconcious

I've seen a bunch of the 'max time I've experienced posts' so I figured I'd chime in. I'm currently unconscious and have been for 63 minutes right now--I'm timing it in case the information is helpful to the dev team. I'll make sure to submit whatever I find out to the bug tracker topic when I get a chance.

No loot, or do I just suck?

While I agree that the eat/drink balance is VERY off right now, I can tell you from experience that I can run from coast to about 3k inland without fainting. If you get a Kamenka spawn, that gives you plenty of time to raid Kamenka and Pavlovo and almost enough time to get to Zelenogorsk.

No loot, or do I just suck?

That may be correct--and if it is I'm not terribly concerned for my own experience because things are currently working like I'd want them to. It was my own opinion but I respect that others might want the game to be different. I see issues with the current system, sure, but I don't think it's near the magnitude some are making it out to be. Case in point, I just entered a server 45 minutes BEFORE restart as a fresh spawn near Cherno. I was able to find 4 food, 2 drink, a backpack, and a first aid kit before the server restarted. Unfortunately I can't use one of my food because I still need to find a can opener, but if I can find that stuff several hours after restart in one of the most frequented places on the coast I think others can as well. I've had no trouble finding a couple of food and drink in Kamenka or Komarovo, both at various times after server restart. This is all anecdotal, though....perhaps you guys are experiencing things differently.
  9. I've run between Komarovo and Kamenka about 3 billion times in my life--and it felt about the same distance when I did it a couple of minutes ago. Other distances seem to be roughly similar, though I haven't done any scientific experimentation. I'm not saying you're incorrect--just that my experience points in the other direction. If anything, I would think that perhaps towns were moved a tad with all of the map updates, but I highly highly doubt the map has been downsized.

No loot, or do I just suck?

No...he understands what they are complaining about, he just doesn't agree with their source of concern. Neither do I. The fact that loot spawns only on server restart does NOT necessarily mean that there will be no loot when you sign in. While it's highly likely that the coastal towns have been fairly ransacked, I'd venture to guess that there would NEVER be an instant when people have "emptied the server" (given reasonable server restart schedules of 4-8 hours). On top of that, there are plenty of missed items by players--some going too quickly through buildings, some that grab the attention of a zombie and run, some that suck at looting, among other things. If you look hard enough you'll find a few things. You won't be geared up, no, but I bet you can find a can of food and drink and a basic weapon. What I like most about this is it encourages fresh spawns to make a decision: try and scavenge loot in easy-to-access coastal areas that have a shortage of items, or try to scavenge in more distant areas that haven't been touched yet. I WANT to have to make that decision when I spawn...and I want to die sometimes when I spawn. I LOVE that I've died of hunger once already--and I hope it happens more. On a tangential note, I'm actually OK with the fact that some players would give up if they didn't log in right after a server restart...that means there is more loot out there for players like me to find. That being said, I think that the system they described earlier in development: is an improvement over the current system. It'll help spread things out a bit so that everyone can loot the same areas a little more. I'd still like these items to be pretty darn scarce, though. The fact that I have to look through two towns to get enough food and drink to go North is perfect to me. Just my two cents...
