Wait! You say this is Alpha?!
-
The folks up north would love to see your stuff..
-
I understand completely thanks, and the facts remain. Like I said The way it's MEANT to be played.
-
Sounds to me like you got sniped or maybe hit by a zombie (or maybe hacked).. Anyways, it's an Alpha mate, bear with it, things are far from perfect atm. If you cant wait there's always COD.

I'm with you Bonkhead.. I'm all for realism and have considered the 'having to relieve yourself' thing myself, it makes perfect sense in a realism simulator. Unfortunately I don't see it being implemented because of the target audience's instability with the subject matter. I do agree though it could be simply handled with a text line and a non graphic animation. I support your idea but don't hold your breath (or your nose).. By the way, snipers generally wiz where they lay, for days at a stretch sometimes ;) Wasn't 'Everybody poops' a song by R.E.M?

The fact is this, but console fans don't really want to hear it.. This game is built with and built for the PC first and foremost. Maybe, BIG maybe a console port is possible way off in the future, but as BigMike has said 2-3 years is a likely time frame and as ShadyFizzle and Ratiasu have said the optimization would need to be huge. If money is a factor and for most of us it is, you have to decide which camp you're in. I've always been a PC gamer, why because aside from a few exclusive titles such as Gran Tourismo 6 which I would dearly love to play on PC, I know it's not happening and I have to go with where I'm going to get the most bang for my buck. And without wanting to insight a PC v console debate, which is very tedious and boring, the fact remains; The PC is the best and most versatile gaming machine your money will buy and you can get yourself a decent rig together for around the same price as your latest 'next gen' console with all the whistles and bells and a few discs. Don't even think about a gaming laptop being the cost effective halfway house solution, it isn't. Gaming laptops such as the Alienware's, Samsung's, MSI's etc are vastly more expensive than the desktop and have their limitations. If you want to play Dayz 'The way it's meant to be played' ;) then sell the console and the games, dig a little deeper in the piggy bank and buy a PC. For me Dayz is one of the best titles ever, and I've been gaming since the Atari (?) Anyone? It's worth the investment to play a game that's going to become a classic, or you could carry on playing COD, I know what I'd do..

Some good ideas here, they get my support. Why does your character look wider (chunky) than usual? Or is it just me?
-
Lol,that was pretty funny ;)

You'll get the mic icon appear if you push caps lock, whatever. Because the PTT bind is to that key. Check your audio properties to make sure everything's as it should be. I run 2 different microphones, one on and headset and one on and webcam. The game has a tendency to seize control of the output sound device on my machine.

I thought I read somewhere that someone had seen a deer already?

Bought the game after watching a few videos.

I like the patch idea. I've advocated Steam style sprays a couple of times but they don't seem to meet with a widespread approval. -
Strangely enough they seem to turn up in pairs, found 3 pairs myself now.

Played a couple of hours then died and i have to start back? Wow really? Wtf

Someone else who didn't read the disclaimer.. -
So, you really need it explaining to you? You're just not the sort of person that the community wants around..
-
Nice idea but not possible.

Your specs look OK, so assuming other games work for you? I have a hunch this may be software or driver related. Have you been through the basics first? Drivers, chipset, firmware, Directx etc etc? Benchmarking software such as 3D Mark may also highlight a problem with a specific area. It's a good place to start and so often the cause when people are searching for a 'miracle cure'.

Ok thanks for clarifying.. I still don't see the attraction though. If the cache moved then yes it would be interesting. I don't see the point of going to find something that everyone already knows the whereabouts of. However! we have a constraint here and that's the boundaries of the map. Wouldn't it be more fun if the finder put the cache somewhere else each time and the coordinates were auto published? You would have to put something into the cache before it became 'dropable' and if you were killed before you reburied it then the cache would lay there for the next finder to bury? Is anyone getting this? Obviously the map area that could be used would need to be a coded area so that some bright spark couldn't put it in the 'off the map' area.

The way things are mate, I'd regard everyone you see as an enemy until they prove differently.
-
There's lots or recruitment threads, reply to one I'm sure you'll get a hit.
-
I don't really get geocaching.. if I'm correct the coordinates of the cache are published to find it, but it has to be returned to exactly the same place? I don't see where the fun or interest lies with that. Or do I misunderstand it?
-
Obviously didn't research much before the post though..
