Zombies as a cure for KOS

I don't want to remove KOS, I want it to be in the game as one of the causes of death but it cannot be a MAIN GOAL, some people play this game to beat their score in killed players, KOS should have a reason
  4. The thing is, zombies SHOULD be #1 threat in this game, they should be enough pain in the ass (directly and indirectly through epidemic) for bandits and less deathmatch focused players so that killing another player becomes a secondary thing. Every trip to the nearby village should be the worst thing ever, then KOS people wouldn’t have time to aim at players, they would have enough real "problems" around. You are not so keen on sniping and camping with dozens of really aggressive zombies reacting to your every move or noise. Just a suggestion: Please! Please make this game HARDCORE and DIFFICULT than ever, where players think about each bullet before firing. Waste the bullet on a player or kill the next zombie on your way. Zombies should be tougher, few bullets in the chest or a head shot (two bullets in the head on random), 3-4 strikes with the axe into the head to bring single zombie down, add some REALLY aggressive behaviour, noise and movement detection +1 and increase the number of zombies to “hordes of infected everywhere”. Outnumbered and dying players will focus on real threats in the zombie apocalypse, I guess. All the holiday best to “the bohemians” and all you crazy bastards in the forums. Cheers. P.s. if people want deathmatch style, why not create few servers with zombie turned off for the biggest warriors :] it will be all about drinking, eating and shooting guns.

    Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.113860

that team does not waste any time. great stuff. Did you consider increasing zombie spawn in near future? Or maybe increasing the number of players on each server? Which of these is the priority at this stage?

What do think about the game so far ?!

Has much smoother feel than a mod. The fact that most of the buildings you can get into is AWSOME. Even right now you can spend 20 minutes in one village just scavenging, imagine that with few dozen zombies running around (I hope the number will increase in the near future). At this stage lack of zombies makes it more sightseeing tour of some apocalyptic kind. But I'm enjoying every second of it. Why do people, when ask what they would love to be added next say: bicycles o.o :] . Zombies, people... ZOMBIES, HORDES of them. I want to feel outnumbered.

    Dayz Suggestion: shorter day/night cycle

Hi Dean, congrats to you and all "the Bohemians" for entering the Alpha. Do you get any sleep? ;) Watching this thing progressing every day is such a treat. Great stuff. I'm really looking forward to see what Devs solution to the day/night cycle will be.
  8. Idea that came up in one of the topics about night time servers: Short day/night cycle 1-2 hours long day/ 1-2 hours long night. Hear me out humans:) Similar idea is used in games like Project Zomboid, Minecraft etc. It would really change the dynamics of the game, imagine planning a trip from one end of the map to the other when you know that half way it will get dark ( increased number of zombies during the night time ), should you wait for the morning in one of the villages or you decide to move further. Sun going down at faster rate would increase the pressure on players (" man, we need to get moving it's getting dark "). Shorter nights, equals waiting with the fingers on those triggers for the morning (when things may get a little bit easier). Last thing, short cycle would make present daytime/night time servers debate irrelevant. It doesn't matter where are you from or how the server is set up, you will experience at least 1 and a half of a cycle during one session in DayZ. Would be really cool if someone from the Mighty Dev team could reflect on that idea.

    every server is dark

why not making the cycle short: 2 hours days/ 2 hours night, you would be able to experience dawn and dusk in the same session?? I'm impressed by my own idea;)
  10. I'm thinking about test server game version
  11. but same version has to be setup on 100+ servers
  12. hi everybody my first post here, Is my thinking correct? They change into new version----> test----> new version is greenlit for a release ----> new version has to be correctly setup on all the servers <---------that's a lot of time.
