Hacker on PUBLIC Dayz US server (teleporter)
mjf6866 replied to mjf6866's topic in General Discussion
sorry i didnt mean to pile on to the "hackers on public servers" threads...kinda posted it in a fit of frustration and then saw how bad others have had it too on public....i'm officially done playing on public as someone mentioned...its pointless when your work goes down the drain when one hacker prick decides to fuck with you. the reason i was playing on this particular public server was the fact that it always had good pop, very low ping for me and its nice to take a break to play vanilla settings from time to time. Cars worked pretty well in there due to the moderate server pop and good ping. was having a good time until that happened. its a shame because it will turn a lot of new people away. i'll stick to whitelisted servers like DUG. Thanks for nothing Bohemia. -
playing on US 3664263 (Public) 66.242.11.162:2602 just now (about 6PM EST) and got killed by a teleporter. he was moving so fast back and forth there was no way for me to return fire and defend myself so i attempted to run and log off in the trees where he ended up killing me with 1 second left on the log off. is it even worth reporting so the devs can try and fix this shit?

i've noticed that if you zoom in you can sometimes see light sources from a distance (fire/flashlight/chem light/torch etc) and from the same distance when using binoculars it wont register at all even though you are zooming in way closer than with just the default zoom with the naked eye. its been like that for the last few patches though for me. immersion breaking and annoying as hell when you are stalking someone in the dark lol

exactly. DUG has renewed my faith that a hardcore vision of the game will exist even if the devs cant get it done right. its pretty much the only server i play on nowadays. i will admit though that i play on Trumps Wall from time to time just to get some quick gun play in to keep my skills sharp lol may i also add the DUG mods and admins seem pretty cool and engaged with the community which is very much alive on that server and they stress the hardcore aspects by adjusting what tools can be used to break down walls and how long it takes, no apples and mushrooms to live off etc there are other adjustments to the game on that server too. worth checking out if you are looking for the most HC version as of now.

thank you for the status report. i (we) really appreciate some form of communication other than twitter about our beloved game. i've been playing since SA was released December of 2013 and its still my most played game all these years later. REALLY hoping broken limbs make it back along with fishing and making traps. thank you @ImpulZfor taking the time to come on here and answer questions (as much as you can). i dont have a twitter account so these forums are my spot for news chatter.

i too have noticed a hit to my frames... i did not try and delete that folder though...do i delete the folder itself or just the contents of the folder? and this is the one in "Documents" correct? Windows 10 64bit with latest Nvidia drivers on a 1070, i7 6700k 4.0ghz, 16 GB RAM. i can usually run on extreme and rarely dip into the 50fps in some spots, but now its 45-50fps. most of the time i'm still above or well above 60fps -
i too noticed i took a hit to my framerate after this patch. i'm on the most up to date Nvidia drivers on my 1070. any resolution to this?

I got the popcorn, but missing something.

i just dont understand...how can you hype this release to the moon and not see that frames have dropped to levels we havent seen since the old engine? i mean do they not test these releases before pulling the trigger? man, i have been a die hard since 2013 and still am, but this i just cant understand....this is make or break time for a lot of people (not me) and this just isnt going help the cause. first time i can honestly say i'm afraid for the future of this game. not afraid the die hards will leave or anything, but the population is going to be so low we are going to have a ton of empty servers. -
+1 on this. dead on. also as someone else said, why not load the maps with base building material and vehicles so we can actually test this stuff instead of spending hours searching for material only to have the next server crash wipe out our stuff and have to start all over? I'm not being a prick about it..i genuinely want to know why? Thanks.

ok, thank you for the clarification. i appreciate the info knowing that the devs know whats causing it at least
-
Damn. I REALLY want to tell my buddies to come back but I know if bases still disappear they will want no part of it. I want to have a home in the game in the worst way.
-
Does "time persistence after server restart" address the disappearing bases and other persistent items? thanks
-
Has there been any clear acknowledgment from development about if and when the disappearing base problem is going to be fixed? Wouldn't be such a big deal for me if nails weren't so hard to find. Just sucks when they want you to test all this stuff out and you take the time to build only to log in and find that 98% of it just disappeared after a server reset. Very deflating. Especially if you are building all by yourself and hours of work just go down the drain. One or two fences disappearing I can deal with, but the whole base?...that makes it hard to want to talk myself into building anything else until this is fixed. I'm trying to get my friends back into it but don't want to bring them onboard until it's addressed cause this would be the final nail for them if they saw that happen. Thanks!

was there a wipe?
