Hacker on PUBLIC Dayz US server (teleporter)
mjf6866 replied to mjf6866's topic in General Discussion
sorry i didnt mean to pile on to the "hackers on public servers" threads...kinda posted it in a fit of frustration and then saw how bad others have had it too on public....i'm officially done playing on public as someone mentioned...its pointless when your work goes down the drain when one hacker prick decides to fuck with you. the reason i was playing on this particular public server was the fact that it always had good pop, very low ping for me and its nice to take a break to play vanilla settings from time to time. Cars worked pretty well in there due to the moderate server pop and good ping. was having a good time until that happened. its a shame because it will turn a lot of new people away. i'll stick to whitelisted servers like DUG. Thanks for nothing Bohemia. -
playing on US 3664263 (Public) 66.242.11.162:2602 just now (about 6PM EST) and got killed by a teleporter. he was moving so fast back and forth there was no way for me to return fire and defend myself so i attempted to run and log off in the trees where he ended up killing me with 1 second left on the log off. is it even worth reporting so the devs can try and fix this shit?
-
exactly. DUG has renewed my faith that a hardcore vision of the game will exist even if the devs cant get it done right. its pretty much the only server i play on nowadays. i will admit though that i play on Trumps Wall from time to time just to get some quick gun play in to keep my skills sharp lol may i also add the DUG mods and admins seem pretty cool and engaged with the community which is very much alive on that server and they stress the hardcore aspects by adjusting what tools can be used to break down walls and how long it takes, no apples and mushrooms to live off etc there are other adjustments to the game on that server too. worth checking out if you are looking for the most HC version as of now.

thank you for the status report. i (we) really appreciate some form of communication other than twitter about our beloved game. i've been playing since SA was released December of 2013 and its still my most played game all these years later. REALLY hoping broken limbs make it back along with fishing and making traps. thank you @ImpulZfor taking the time to come on here and answer questions (as much as you can). i dont have a twitter account so these forums are my spot for news chatter.

[PC] Amibent Occulsion is tanking my frames after the patch

i too have noticed a hit to my frames... i did not try and delete that folder though...do i delete the folder itself or just the contents of the folder? and this is the one in "Documents" correct? Windows 10 64bit with latest Nvidia drivers on a 1070, i7 6700k 4.0ghz, 16 GB RAM. i can usually run on extreme and rarely dip into the 50fps in some spots, but now its 45-50fps. most of the time i'm still above or well above 60fps -
I got the popcorn, but missing something.

i just dont understand...how can you hype this release to the moon and not see that frames have dropped to levels we havent seen since the old engine? i mean do they not test these releases before pulling the trigger? man, i have been a die hard since 2013 and still am, but this i just cant understand....this is make or break time for a lot of people (not me) and this just isnt going help the cause. first time i can honestly say i'm afraid for the future of this game. not afraid the die hards will leave or anything, but the population is going to be so low we are going to have a ton of empty servers. -
frames dropping in certain areas (tell me its not just me :))
mjf6866 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
While I completely understand that this is still a work in progress and that it has improved drastically since the new rendering engine went into place in the early summer of '16, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something with my setup and/or video drivers causing some FPS drops in big cities and some other spots. I feel I have a pretty decent mid-ranged PC and while I get a pretty consistent 60fps (yes, i'm running with VSync on cause the screen tearing drives me nuts) and when I hit larger cities or some sections of the forest (like the yellow leaf tree forest near Tisy), I'm getting pretty significant frame drop. I'm running everything maxed out 1080x1920, but dropped the Anti aliasing down to "Normal" and "FXAA Normal" and still see massive frame drops in large cities and some dense forest areas. down to 30-35fps in some cases. Really I just want to hear from other on here that have specs similar or better than mine to see if they are experiencing the same thing. i7 6700K 4.0ghz 16GB DDR4 2400 MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB (latest drivers) MSI gaming mobo Win10 Pro x64 I am running the game in 64-bit mode, but also tried 32-bit and didnt notice any difference in fps. thanks for any feedback...and again, i realize its not optimized, and just wanted to know its not just happening to me :) -
i too have been playing since it was released. as a guy that never got to the play the mod, the standalone was the first experience i've had in this universe and i've fallen in love regardless of the bugs which can be frustrating but i learned to deal with them. i may be in the minority, but i find it relaxing to be on a low pop server from time to time just poppin' zombies from distances, hunting, making fires, fixing up cars and looking for tents and camps. its only gonna get better from here!

tent persistence: when will they survive the weekly maintenance wipe?
mjf6866 posted a topic in General Discussion
ive searched, and i cant get a straight answer, but does anyone know when tents might survive the weekly Wednesday maintenance wipe? is it supposed to be in the next patch? was it supposed to work in the current patch? pretty much pointless to have one at the moment and frustrating when you find this out after work today :) thanks in advance -
i too would like to know what i have to do with a tent me and my buddy's just found....we are on a persistent server, have a military tent packed to the gills and its in a nice hidden area of the map. so after all weekend of stocking it and the the amount of time we spent lookig for one, are we going to lose it this come wednesday?
-
on peristent servers, do guns and backpacks you hide (not in a tent), stay?
mjf6866 replied to mjf6866's topic in General Discussion
just to update the thread in case anyone was wondering...i was able to test it last night too after a few restarts on the same server. my stash was still there each time! i'm just starting to use this persistence thing to me and my group's advantage! really would like to find a military tent now.... -

just what the subject asks.... for example, i leave my backpack fully loaded or a rifle sitting next to a tree in the woods, the server resets...does that stuff stay or is it only if its in a tent on a persistent server? thanks -
hehehe :) i wasnt server hopping...just counting the times i had to find a new server because of it resetting or me ending my session.

i was on at least 10 different servers and the performance boost was noticeable across all of them. frames were definitely higher in cities and there was almost no menu lag to be seen. i was on high pop servers too.
