Having an issue finding this server with Commander. As in it's not listing for me. Even entering the ip:port in the favorites line gives me nothing. It does show up in the in game browser, though. *Also not showing for me in Six Launcher. Gamespy issue I presume. -

Honestly, with the WAY overboard scripting that's happening currently and BattleEye's inability to protect the servers, I think allowing servers to be private/passworded is great. As he said in the interview, there were reasons up to this point for not allowing it. However, the experiment is past the need for it. The data has been collected and the evidence given. So there is no real reason to continue to force servers to be a free for all for scumbag script kiddies. My only concern is: how is a player like me, who can't afford at the moment to pay someone (like Disgraced - yes even 5 extra bucks a month is not something I can guarantee I'll have right now) going to be able to get into your (the admins of the servers) server? How would you handle allowing players to join? Also, obviously, passwording is only going to assist in stopping the scripting issues. It still doesn't put an end to server stability problems or abusive admins.

Interesting. With so many admins complaining about the rules not allowing them to do this I would have thought more would have been excited to hear he is considering allowing it. Strange.

The longest we have ever had to wait for an update/fix has been what? 2 weeks? Pretty god damn impressive actually. He is fixing it. He's also adding a bunch of new/newly improved shit. Get over yourselves.

The only thing remotely attractive about Lingor, for me, is the every building enterable thing - and that's coming with standalone anywy. The Lingor map is even buggier/glitchier than Chernarus. -

I agree with most of this. Minus: NPCs for protection/scripted NPC events: Player only if you please. No spawn location selection. I prefer the "you landed here, figure out how to survive from this point." randomness. -

The update will release when it's released. He's working on it. You know what else he is working on? Making it a standalone game. People on here whine, bitch, and moan about shit constantly about shit he can't actually do anything about (like the hacking, the zed glitches and several other issues that are actually ARMA2 bugs and issues that can not truly be resolved with DayZ as a MOD). And everydoby's a fucking expert on what to do when. Alright then - how about YOU do it. "We want standalone!" "Give us more MOD!" The man doesn't have 5 heads, 6 sets of arms, and no need to sleep or eat.

BI + DayZ: I Am Confused Why the heck isn't BIS jumping at the chance to make DayZ the game? The number of sales from ArmA 2 in the last 3.5 months... The continuing increasing popularity of the mod... The incredibly obvious demand and support for DayZ as a standalone game... I just don't get it! What's holding BI back from making this game?

Yes sir, it is a mod that we are continuously testing, correct. A mod, in alpha, that the creator would like to make a standalone game. It has reached a point where continuing to develop it as a mod is a pointless act and a waste. The focus, with it's current numbers and demand, should be on making it the game it will be. Rocket wants it to be a standalone game. He is already entertaining offers from companies/studios to do exactly that. The question now lies in which one it will be.
