Brilliant, simplistic idea on how to fix the "server hopping" problem.

my first thought is that if the first guy at the barracks is smart, he'll clear out the zeds that are there, collect any avail keycards and close the doors behind him. He's got the only keys for that specific server until reset -

I ended up sick last night. Still dont know why... thought I was taking care of myself and avoiding anything that would make me sick. I took a whole package of antibiotics but my sickness didnt clear up until a good hour later...... right after I went afk for ten min. It almost seemed like it wasnt the antibiotics, but that I needed to rest.... cant be sure

In the beginning I thought the whole system was whacked. After you get used to it though, its not as bad as it first seems. At all. -
I personally think the ability to server hop is ludicrous. So much about this game is based on gear. PVP is a big part of this game. Just using the honour system to police server hopping isnt going to work. Looking down at and making fun of server hoppers isnt going to work. Nothing will work unless the ability to server hop just isnt there. It's an exploit. This seriously deserves some attention.

I'd like to see 20 hour cycles. I like the idea of staying with just one server and playing through different parts of the day spread over a few days real time. -

I love this idea but how would the game know a self defense kill from a murder? Or if I tracked down the guy who shot my friend 15 minutes ago? Things like that would just ruin the system's idea. -

I'd be seriously surprised if they released now just for the fact that they've been working hard and the holidays are about to start. They're going to to be slammed hard when they release for a good while, you'd think they'd want to tackle that fresh. Right after a short break sounds about perfect

Has there been any word on how the day night cycle is to be handled come standalone?

That would be dissapointing. As a guy who only will be playing a couple days a week, I'd most likely just be picking day servers if that was the case. As opposed to finding a good server and sticking with it. If there was even a 20 hour cycle, it could add a lot of variety for those who would rather stick with a certain server and will be logging on at the same time during the evening.
