i doubt there will be a stable push until they have fixed the server loads in the exp. maybe they fix the rubberbanding on exp today, and then go for the stable push. 64 Bit Multicore Servers are the holy grail of fixing a lot of stuff, hope we will see them soon.

[HOWTO] Test Experimenal Builds / Help the Dev´s to improve Quality

Hello DayZ SA Community, As some of you may have recognized, the Experimental Servers are nearly Empty. If you want to help out testing the newest Builds of the game, here is how you do it: Step 1: Setup Steam Options properly to recieve the newest Alphabuild. -Right-click on DayZ in your Steam Games Library -Switch to the Betas Tab -Select Experimental from the Pulldown Menu -Close -Steam will automatically start downloading the newest Build now Step 2: Setup your Serverbrowser to find Experimental Servers -Click on Filter -Type Exp or Experimental into the Host filter -To be sure you reach all servers with the filter set the max ping to 200 -Set Full servers on Show -Click Okay The Serverbrowser should look like this now: -Check the Version Number to be sure you are joining the latest Build. Step 3: -Test the Build, give Feedback in the Bugs section, have fun. Character Saving Explanation: -Experimental Characters are saved on a Seperate Hive. Data loss is possible. -If you switch back to play on the public hive, your other Character is loaded again. Be Careful, i cant guarantee no Dataloss. Why should you test?: The devs need to get Data from you to improve their patches and check if they are stable. So its a win/win. You get to see new Stuff and improvements, and they can get their Patches out faster and more stable. This is what we are here for.- 44 replies

i personally have the feeling that a lot of stable servers with 40 players dont run as smooth as the 100 player servers on experimental. sometimes it takes over 30 seconds to drink or eat. Putting weapons away sometimes takes ages too. I wonder if the EXP servers are more powerful than the rentables. Really dont know what causes these problems. -
anybody else noticed that massive desync on stable servers? it ran smooth like hell on the experimentals. Are the exp servers running on better machines? i mean, they ran smoothly on 80+ players, stable are just running 40 and have issues. Maybe there is an issue with old gear? imho they should wipe chars with stable pushes to eleminate risks. EXP Severs(before the latest push) - instant response to any action Stable Servers - takes a while to drink, eat, jump over fences

arent we on 0.43? this thread is sooooo ooold and sooo full =) Since i dont check back daily i cant figure out if there was a stable update or an experimental, since you have to choose one for your client. the only thing i recognize for now is when steam pushes out an update on exp branch. I really would appreciate a more organized update log. (new topic per Patch EXP and Stable) The actual one is just editing the old ones, packing more stuff in. At least it would be nice to put the new edited stuff to "italic" ^^ -

it simply isnt less hardcore for you, because its your choice to play on hc. Noone wants to ruin your gameexperience.

My opinion on the latest Zombie Changes: Positive: -More threat by Zs Negative: -Annoying respawn mechanics (i know: Placeholder) -Stuttery Z Movement (placeholder) -Melee is kinda Clunky, difficult to hit them -Playerspotting is still Supernatural (sneaking impossible) Conclusion: Maybe it wasnt the best idea to let broken Zombies respawn in a large amount in your face. Also hordes of Zombies without Loot respawn are kinda annoying. You are on the right way, but i think it was a bit hasted to let broken AIs respawn with no Loot respawning just because the community cried a bit. Debalances the game a little bit when you search in already looted places and have to deal with hordes of superman zombies. -
i agree to the fact that mirrors are far more realistic, but different players need different playstyles, especially in such a Big Playerbase. Me and my friends hang to hardcore. I dont know what you mean. Wich part of the Community do you want to play with? The 3pp Players? I dont think they will be amused if you force them to adapt your playstyle. There are enough HC and 3pp Players. Q and E Buttons are fine too btw. Mirrors would be a nice addition to Hardcore servers though.

play on hardcore servers, noone forces you to play on 3pp servers. over and out.

Pointless Hate-Thread. Dont play on 3pp Servers if you hate it. I personally dislike 3pp Servers too. Thats why we have that option, different people enjoy different playstyles. There is no exploitation on 3pp Servers, everyone has the same tools, its your fault if you dont use them. Also i am playing on FULL Hardcore Servers daily, there are plenty of them.

Are you serious? how old are you 12? There is no single valid agrument in your post OP. Obviously you lack skills in reading or understanding what you read. -Its not about the Cooking Pot, its about the new server messaging system, wich is kind of a complex change to the architecture itself. -Bohemia interactive is the Studio. -Dont buy indie games then, so i dont have to read your verbal gush. Or at least dont compare them to AAA Titles. -YOU dont really understand [please insert anything here] And please dont just create accounts on this forum to create stupid rant threads. I have noticed a similar thing with dead bodies. I handcuffed a player who tried to kill me after i shot him. he was still alive, as i checked the pulse. but then he logged off. After that his head started to move randomly, even if the player wasnt there anymore. it was kinda weird.

as a german i am well educated about hitler. what interesting book did he write? And please dont say "mein kampf" because this book is totally ridiculous and reflects the insanity of hitler himself. Cleverness and insanity are not far apart. As you said you understand that Hitler is one of the most recent bad guys. Then surely you can understand that there are still a lot of feelings connected to that. Its just inappropiate and offending. I wonder if you would tolerate a proud Oilpainting of a Guy named Osama as avatar.

You cant even do any stealth moves with the current Z implementation. they see you over hundereds of meters, they know no line of sight. its just Z here Z there. I would love a much more progressed implementation, but at the current state its kinda contra productive as it eats up server performance. The real threat is still other players, not Zs, they are just more annoying *g* Sure it is a placeholder, but what do we need it for? It doenst even add to immersion or affect the core gameplay in a big way. You just need to get your axe out more often and wait for the animations to finish. Im also aware that i will have to deal with it, but i am just communicating my opinion. -

As dean mentioned, they will implement a spawn mechanic where Zs spawn maybe from around the village you are currently in, and walk inwards. its a quite difficult task to ensure they wont spawn in your face. ATM its just annoying when you have killed a Z and 2 more spawn around you to get you. Switching from a gun to the fireaxe takes ages atm, because its also kinda glitchy. They just added Z respawn in a unready state because people wanted it. In my opinion it doesnt raise the quality of gameplay. Also i think its wrong to let a permanent threat respawn, and let loot respawn every 4 hours with serverrestarts. makes it kinda annoying to get into empty villages stuffed with Zs. It isnt a destructive post to ask for a rollback of the respawn mechanic and wait till its ready or a useful state since the implementation of this mechanic was only introduced by a imho bad community decision. Its not about the testing, it just annoys me personally ^^ -

Thats what i said before all the time :P Implementing half done respawning systems to calm down the cries of the masses doenst give a benefit for anyone. -
I dont loot them, because there is a very low amount of loot in them and it sucks navigating through them because of the clunky movement. it just annoys me =)

this will be irrelevant as soon as loot respawn is reactivated.
