I choose M4 simply because of the magazine capacity, (and abundance). I'm not the best shot so "spray and pray" is my preferred method.

You obviously have no clue how abundant ammo is. At least here in the U.S. ;) -
The building that some call the "school" or "office" building spawns guns up in the 3rd floor left of the stairs. I've found Mosins, SKS, and Shotguns in there just about every time I go unless it's been looted previously. This is in Berezino but I'm guessing all the same buildings would have it.

I agree. I think when, (if), they add helo crash sites or some other type of in game content, (maybe NPC missions to kill zombies or something?) people will leave the cities. Right now there's really just not much to do.

I agree! You would imagine that when the outbreak/infection first started people were making a mad fucking dash to get away as quick as possible. I would think the airport, (hell, ALL the major roadways and train stations), would be packed with cars. Seems only logical that cars would be a good source for loot as once people started hitting massive traffic jams they would then have to go on foot with only the stuff they could carry. -
No, the developers have no intentions of optimizing the game. It's going to stay this way forever so that people can come to the forums and continually complain about things that have been addressed over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over...... :rolleyes:

Have you even attempted to get away from the coast? That should be the first thing anyone does as soon as they spawn, head inland.

There are 2 versions of the game. DayZ MOD which is a mod of Arma2. At the end of last year there was a DayZ standalone version released. All the vids you've been watching with the "gauges" were all vids of the Arma2 MOD and not stand alone.

I had the same thin happen to me once. I just kept running and "vaulting" around while under the house and eventually I was able to get out on my own. -
