It's divided because some people are masochistic and like to die and have a challenge. And some players want to have fun with little to no challenge. Also some people "Bandits" Like to take the moral low ground. While "Survivors" take the moral high ground. -
Zombies can bleed out actually. They are just civilians with a different skin and new AI. But this isn't even able to be done in engine I think.

Minimize it by running not sprinting. Stay in the shade under trees and avoid fields if possible. -
Good ideas but I play a different way. Don't kill new spawns. Be polite. Be efficient. And have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

Truthfully whenever I do a trade I have 2 snipers watching the other players. If they even raise their rifles they get killed. It's kinda stressful until you can trust someone. -

Trading isn't to hard if you go about it correctly. Generally if both sides have sniper cover they won't attack. -
