    Disconnect after being shot solution?

Personally, if you disconnect in battle you char should be instantly killed and lootable as any corpse. As long as there's a good indicator to show wether you are allowed to leave the game or not. No exceptions or excuses. I know people would like a logout timer but didnt rocket try but failed to implement that a couple of patches ago? I mean if that works, fine as long as the timer is long enough. I mean if it was like 30sec then it would be fairly easy to just run into a building and then you are safe.

    I'll admit it..

Disconnecters are annoying, sure but what I find ever worse are people who can't reply to forum threads without insulting someone. /off topic To be honest, OP apparently didn't dc so it didn't harm anyone. The result is the only thing that matters in the end (according to me at least). As if it mattered that I once considered to DC but I decided against it and ran out into the sniper fire and died even if I knew that those snipers would most likely have DCed. Still they got both the NVGs I was carrying. In the end this is only my opinion.

I KNOW you're an exploiter if you disagree

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the reason why we dont already have a logout timer the fact that it's hard to implement in the arma II engine? I think that until we can reach a better solution a temporary fix should be added to simply kill anyone leaving a server withing maybe 1 min (or even >1 min) after taking damage from a player. There would obviously have to be like an icon for this. Yes there is a chance that people with poor internet or w/e will be killed in the process. To be frank though, people with poor latency suffer from problems with aiming etc but noone is talking about that. That an extremely small number of players will lose their character is bad but there is really no way out of that.

    Vigilante play

I generally do the same though I have to admit its mostly for their gear :p I can generally trade good sniper rifles for assault rifles. Only problem is that most snipers i've ambushed/fought have been filthy disconnecters.

    To Alex: Rest In Peace.

This almost makes me feel bad about all people I've killed. Then I remember my first weeks for this game and the fact that I have yet to meet a single player who hasn't opened fire on sight (except for irl friends and fresh spawns after the starting gear patch). Wait, there was one that asked why I was running from him. He got killed by the sniper I was actually running from before I could answer. But if I knew that someone I killed were like you portrait yourself I would honestly feel bad. Though I think that chance is rather small looking back on my past experiences.

    Why do you murder?

What do I get for killing people: Night vision goggles. What do people get for killing me: 2 pairs of Night vision goggles. By the gods I'm stupid.

    Broken Leg Sprint trick.

Oh god, imagine the pain! I think I'll stick to crawling, can't make myself cruel enough to put my character through that. Nice tip though.
  8. There are forums that actually manage to achieve this, on this forum though I personally think some artificial manners would be great. In my personal opinion, if the members can't act in a fairly well mannered way I think that the moderators should temp/perma ban those people so the forum either gets rid of them or they learn that they wont be able act like that on this forum. While it's not optimal I think it's better than to just hope that people will change.
  9. Maybe I'm a toddler then. No but seriously, maybe I ran into glitches/bugs but this update makes no sense to me. At first it seemed quite fine but when I alerted the first zed today close to a barn I went inside to deal with him which was no problem. The other zeds also got alerted when I fired my makarov so I had to deal with them as well. Unfortunately the zeds kept on spawning giving me no room to sneak out (there was always one on his way into the barn). After 50 zombie kills I had no more ammo and chose to make a run for it. It took me about 4 mins to lose them all in the woods. Since I had no ammo left I went to a workshop in hope of finding something. I prone-walked up to the building but about 20m away 3 zeds charged out towards me (I would suppose this was due to some bug/glitch, since I couldn't be more careful and I couldn't even see the zeds through the wall). Either way I decided to take some advice to go upstairs in buildings and get out of their LOS which is what I did, I hid in one of the rooms on the third floor but they wouldn't stop their chase, I died. I've also several times had zombies spawn just 2-3m away from me when I'm trying to sneak into/out of buildings. I don't know maybe I'm doing something wrong but to me this patch feels kind of wrong if you know what I mean.
  10. If it was only possible to at least see outlines of stuff. As it is now it's literally impossible to see anything unless you use flares (or if you can for some reason put them between yourself and the sky which is highly unlikely to happen) which will pull all bandits within a 1 km radius around you. There's no "creeping" around unless you have nvgs in which case it's basically day time for you. I think we can all agree that pitch black is unrealistic (unless it's like winter and it's snowing). But I would say that the most important part is the gameplay and would it ruin the game play if you could actually see something during the night? Maybe, that's not up to me to say but I personally think it could be a bit brighter, allow us to see shades at least so I can see if i'm running into a tree or not.

Poll: Do you play at night?

I try if I can to not play at night but if it turns into night I wont switch server but I might leave the game if I'm anywhere near a high risk area. Right now if I play during night I use road flares, holding them if I need to travel somewhere (only if I feel safe from people, and I always drop them before my character stops so I wont be an easy target in the middle of the light), and I throw them around if I want to sneak into a small town etc. I feel that it works pretty well. I've heard people say that chemlights can be a good light source at night but I've tried them on several occasions they only seem to light up about one or two square meter. An entire pack of chemlights wont even light up close to half a single road flare. If someone could explain the use for these I would be very grateful. Finally, is there any reasonable way to "counter" NVGs? I just got killed by someone using nvgs. I just don't know how to prevent something like that from happening. I suppose the answer is simple, don't do risky stuff during the night unless you have nvgs, but I would love to hear some tips if there are any good ones out there.

    How much would you pay?

Full price even if he released it now like this (I know bad consumer practice but hell). I would say that I've already gotten my moneys worth from the mod alone. I have no intention of buying Arma III, never really liked modern shooters, if I want to play an fps I play UT2k4 or Red Orchestra. Though if it's coming out as a dlc/mod for Arma III I'll simply have to buy it there's just nothing more to that. I've been wanting to play a game like this for quite some time now, pretty much Heaven and Hearth Fps zombie style. :shy:

    What's the point in trying?

While you could die from a stray bullet that wasn't even intended for you but for some zombies there are certainly ways to reduce the chance of getting killed. Like never stand still unless you feel completely safe, same obviously goes for looting/picking up items since it's harder to take out moving targets from far away and the closer the bandit/killer gets to you the higher your chance is to spot him. Another even easier way to survive is to stay away from the commonly visited sites like airports etc.

Dear rocket, f**k humanity. Focus on Morality.

You guys seem to forget the zombies. These characters have probably killed some of their relatives in horrific manners. I might be talking for only myself but I believe that bashing my mothers skull in even though she has zombiefied would haunt me more than some random survivor waving an effing gun. If we wan't to get rid of the death matches (which seems like a good idea to me) then I think it should be done in another way. Some way that punishes that specific gamestyle rather than all bandits. For example, harder punishes for dying though that would be wierd for spawn camping. Over all what I am trying to say is that i want a solution for this but I don't think this specific one is well "good enough".
