I found g17 to be very underwhelming sure the flashlight and large mags where good. But its downfall for me was the low power and scarcity of ammunition. I quickly changed back to m1911.

I like the current system because I feel a sense of achievement when im able to find a weapon and basic survival gear. Its more realistic too not many people have handguns and prescription narcotics (how an opiate cures a broken bone I would like to know lol).

I think its a good idea but you should be able to use a Czech pouch with a ghillie suit.

Sure you wouldn't look suspect walking into the enemy's base in a blood soaked uniform.

I know id get more value from building a computer but for my lifestyle and job its more convenient to own a laptop instead.

Yes I will never forget the first time I killed another player, he was creeping up the stairs inside Devils castle. He didn't know I was inside waiting for him as I heard footsteps slowly getting closer my heart was beating and I was terrified, Ive never felt emotion like that from a video game before. There where thoughts going through my head like "I dont want to kill this person but I do not wish to die" from my positioning I was able to sight him before he sighted me and when he came into view instinct took over and I emptied my pistol into the side of his head.

Not to hijack the OP's question but can anyone recommend an upgrade to my Asus G73j? Id be looking at parting with around 3k.

I have a Asus G73J with ATI radeon hd 5870 and it runs DayZ rather well on high settings it cost me around $1400 12 months ago so it might be around 1k now. I would recommend it if you want a good gaming laptop for a reasonable price, another good feature is the cooling system is nice and quiet and works very well (so long as its kept free of dust ect).

Is there any update on the damage/broken bones/bleeding caused from going prone through doorways or up and down stairs? Im not sure if this is an issue with dayz or the arma 2 engine.

yes I think there will be an even more roguelike feel to the game and finally finding a gun and supplys will be more rewarding, it will also possibly curb the shoot on sight mentality. although we wont know for sure in till the patch has been playtested more.
