Thank you all for your suggestions. I will try them out and report back later. And Mos1ey, I did some research and found out my 5400 rpm harddrive is really slow. Would buying an SSD and running Dayz off that allow my harddrive to only focus on recording? I would assume that although the harddrive is a slow 5400rpm, it shouldn't lag if it is only recording.

Hello. I recently discovered Nvidia Shadowplay which allows me to record gameplay without a significant frame rate drop. Now, my frame rate only doesn't drop if I don't travel long distances. For instance, I would be in berezino upon spawn in and not suffer any fps drops. If I try to maybe travel to another town , I can travel out of berezino for only a few minutes before I start getting fps lag. I am thinking this is due to my computer having to load the map as I'm running while at the same time recording gameplay but I an not completely sure. If this is the case, would recording to an external harddrive fix the problem or does dayz use the CPU to load the map? Thank you

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

I have 130 hours of game time and I have come across 2 hackers. One of them stole all my gear but returned it a minute later. The second was a guy I teamed up with who I later found out had ESP hacks. During the time we played together, he didn't even try to hunt down anyone and only used his hacks to avoid players (still doesnt excuse his hacks though). I really don't know how some of you guys are running into hackers that often. -
I'm not home right now and I always forget to test it when I start playing. Would it be possible to increase the sound of specific things like footsteps and gunshots?

I've been watching some dayz videos and people always seem to be able to hear gunshots from so far away. When I'm playing with my friend, he always hears gunshots but I don't. I'm using some standard $40 Sony headphones so that might be the problem but it could be that my in-game volume is low. So guys, what's your sound setup? How loud do you like your in-game sound to be?

I keep seeing people talking about tents, persistent storage, etc. What exactly is it? Do tents carry over to other servers? If anyone can explain this to me, it would be great :) . Please excuse the misspelling in the title lol.

Ya, I guess so but that's why I said they should only spawn low-mid tier weps. No m4's, m107's, etc.

What so you guys think of maybe 1 or 2 American compounds being added to the map, you know where most Americans live before the outbreak. It wouldn't be too big but it would contain a security building that has low tier- mid tier American weapons. Still haven't thought of what the other buildings should have. So, what r ur opinions?

How is that possible? Im getting 20 frames on very low with this crappy laptop: Processor: AMD Turion II Dual Core Mobile M500 2.20 ghz GPU: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Ram: 4gb (3.75 usable) There's a youtube video of someone running BF3 at ultra with AA off at about 40 fps. He was using a laptop the exact same specs. I'm sure if a laptop can run BF3 on those settings, it should be able to run DayZ at around 30 fps on highish settings
