interesting thoughts. Ive seen threads about bandits having "side effects" such as seeing ghosts and stuff like that but honestly this seems way better. I like the idea of fear and panic and all that stuff for the people who KoS making the game much less interesting. applause to you good sir. =D

im unsure if the files from the bohemia website have any effect because the spyware shutdown a while back. but i believe they are out of date. Also, in your situation i think the servers you are trying to join are not being hosted anymore. You can download the files through steam now.(I would recommend re downloading them but thats your choice). most of the people i know use Dayz Commander.

the most up-to-date launcher would be Dayz Commander.(I recomend you set it to always run as administrator) you can just type it in google and it should be the first option. As for the Arma ll server browser issue, it could be fixed when switching to Commander. When you load into a server what you should see is a player list on the right and 2 tabs on the left. none of that matters most of the time just hit join and you should be on your way into the game.

So, from what i know the only difference from hardcore and normal is that Hardcore has 1st person only and normal has an optional 1st and 3rd person. Is the game actually harder in hardcore? possibly less loot, zombies hit harder, hunger and thirst go by faster?

was going to say, just uncheck the "Launch from Steam" box. but ive realised that its not there anymore. people have told me to use the most up to date launcher "Dayz Launcher". Ive been using it recently and it seems to work fine. i think you should try it maybe it, could fix your problem?

wait....how long has Dayz Launcher been out? ive been using commander for quite some time and nobody told me anything about it being out of date?

your 2nd problem : unless its kicking you out of the game, it means nothing. It does that to me on most servers i join, Eg- missing a plant or a car. But i can still play the game. As for your 1st problem : your best bet is to keep looking at the Steam and DayZ forums. Google around a bit hopefully youll find a fix. GL

Same thing happened to me. My fix was, head to your taskbar > go to your anti-virus > turn off "Real-time Scanning"(seems to be a glitch or anti-virus programs see it as a problem) > reinstall Arma 2 OA. (BTW i had steam running as admin. Dunno if it matters or not.) then, after you download arma 2 OA. Right click Arma 2 OA > properties > Betas > then click the 3rd tab, it should just say "Beta - " nothing after it. Then you will see the servers on Dayzcommander. Like i said, this was my fix. Hopefully it will work for anyone and everyone.

ahh.. ok. sorry for the misinformation. I heard about the spyware shutdown but i only though it effected the game itself not every independent server.

oh, if only i can find fun groups in DayZ D= im obviously in the wrong places at the wrong times.

Hey, sorry if im late for the party. I tried joining your server which seems like a good fit for me. Although when i put the IP on my favorites in Dayzcommander. It greys our and shows as if the server doesnt exist or its down. The title is the IP of the server. Hopefully there arent any server problems and will be fixed soon.

me personally, id rather clear the area as fast as i can if i dont spot anybody there. Although a few of my buddies like to wait it out and let some other guy do it for them. then steal the loot. Although my method has got me killed a few times. If you nearby and you rush it you should be fine.
