LoLz you guys are going to love this.... Oh the IRONY!!!! Shortly after that last kill I had the feeling I was being watched, so I took off to International airfield to hopefully find a better sniper rifle and camoflauge. I got there no problems and found a camouflage outfit (wasn't the ghillie which I wanted) and a camouflaged scoped SVD that looked oh so pretty. Eh, I thought to myself, I am sure I can do some damage with that. I went into the tower to look for more gear and peaked out the windows with my binocs. I saw two survivors moving together near the treeline at the barracks. hmm, I better just avoid them. I looked at the firestation and saw a bandit climbing the stairs probably searching for gear. hmm.. I could kill the bandit and make a run for it but it seemed way to busy around this place to be loud. I was basically pinned in the tower. The survivors were still far away but they would hear gunfire. I said f it, picked up my svd and waited for the bandit to make himself seen through the windows. When he did I shot, and missed... He had an idea where it came from but now he was also pinned.. We both sat there waiting for the other to break. Don't know how long it was until he darted for the stairs but a well placed shot wounded him (I saw blood drops). I thought he wasn't dead so I waited but nothing happened. Still blood drops, yup he is dead. hah! ::gunshots:: Uh oh... It was automatic fire. And it was coming from the direction where the survivors would be. Alright... I was still trapped... Ill wait it out. More gunshots, then silence... I looked out the window toward the hangers and saw nothing, I didn't care peak out the top of the tower, I used the small windows on the sides. The view wasn't great and I didn't see anybody at either window... I peaked again toward the hangers and I saw one of the survivors running erratically and zigzagging. What are you doing you fool! You will get killed! I never saw the other guy, maybe he was watching. He checked the hangers and ran towards the firestaion erratically again. He would probably hear the flies or find that dead bandit and loot him. Good, good for him. I watched and watched the zigzagging nub (or so I thought) until I said f it, ill hide under the stairs and unfortunately if they come through those tower doors it will be there death. I put away my binocs and turned around....... And the other survivor had his enfield to my head. I then found myself in a green field with no zombies feeling like I hadn't a care in the world... the bastards must have known I was there. One guy was being used as the decoy while the other snuck up. Kudos to those bastards.. I will start again soon, but have not picked up DayZ since. I felt so dumb to be outsmarted lol.

Yet another day in Cheranus. After a life of fear I decided to take matters into my own hands. I would kill, hunt, and torture every bandit I saw. If possible they would not have a quick death, they would not be saved, they will die the cowards they were born by a fellow bandit turned rogue. Oh how satisfying it was. After hours of hiding, moving, and scavenging I decided I was ready... With my M4 scope, my m9, and large backpack full of food, water, and ammo, and a camouflage outfit, I moved from the North back toward the coast. There is one thing you can count on, especially bandits, they are fools. They run around the map without regard for stealth or care. Their objective, get gear as quickly as possible and go to "sniper hill" in elektro and Chernus and just kill new spawns. As admirable as they are, they must die... I passed a few nameless towns, avoiding all detection. I giggled as I saw zombies chasing a person, oh it was a bandit. Another fool with no regard for stealth, booking it to the new spawn kill areas. "Sometimes this is to easy", I thought to myself as I raised my m4. He was a good 50-80 m away when I let out my first shots. His body crumbled to the floor, zombies in tow. No, he would not get reprieve. I killed the zombies and went to his body. I stood over it like the superior I was and I heard him beg for death. His leg was broken but he wasn't bleeding, his pulse was low, and his life nearly extinguished. I aimed my weapon at him, knowing the only sweet release for this bandit was death. Death wouldn't come today. Instead, death calmly walked away ignoring his pleas with a smile on his face. "Please bro, kill me!" the coward yelped... I walked away, leaving him a mass of flesh that would be unable to die... Go ahead, try to server hop bandit, it wont help you, you will waste time all thanks to me. And you will never know my name... Move, cover, move, stop and survey, DOWN... That was my routine for the next hour while I headed to elektro. My goal was sniper hill. The journey there was uneventful, but I knew those lame tards would probably be in the same spots snipers always are in Elektro. Of course they think they are being stealth, but its only a person with a civilian background that thinks those hiding places are good "sniper" spots. Nope, I know how both sides think, and one side is extremely predictable. I surveyed the area with my binocs. I saw a survivor trying to sneak around entering the fire station, "good luck to you" I whispered to myself... I saw another survivor running for dear life trying to lose a zombie hoard. He was a fool but I knew he was probably being watched, and he was. Distant shots took the poor bastard down, shots from where? I laughed, sniper hill.... And oh there he is, hiding in what he thinks is a concealed area... Lolz I swung around into the forest, past the dam, and saw him still sitting in the exact spot. I came up right behind him, yelled "BOO" into the direct, and put a bullet into the back of his brain. Cowards die like cowards. I took his gear with no intention of using it and hid his body. You wont be able to grab what was left bandit. I left the area for more adventure, and found it.., -The Bandit Hunter

Why are people complaining about KOS like it's a feature issue?
Tmerc44 replied to kragz's topic in General Discussion
KoSing isnt that big of a problem and its a pretty big part of the game. Walking around the woods or small towns expecting a bullet to the brain is part of the tension. I am guilty of panicking and KoSing some people ive seen out in the middle of nowhere, but I always pay for it in some way. 1.Zombies hurt me bad, 2. He has a friend with him I didn't see 3.The gunfight took my health down to unplayable or broke my leg. When I play now I am much more careful and methodical when approaching areas that could have players. THIS is the problem.... The CoD kiddies that spawn near elektro-cherno and just run around grabbing the weapons they can, then they kill each other like a death-match and repeat. Those ppl kill the game for me. And I don't understand why, there is no ladder, no kill counter, nobody even knows whose doing the killing, wtf is the point!? This is a survival game and if the development team starts taking counter measures for those KoS players they will leave and make the game more enjoyable. To me best way to get ride of KoSer is make the zombies much more scary. I am not sure what they mean by adding consequences to PvP interactions and killing each other. Its a tight rope to walk, I don't want KoSer gone completely, but I would like it to be regulated fairly well. -

How to get rid of the kill on sight mentality? :(

This scenario is outrageous.... Here I am about 1-2 hours into a game having survived both an elektro supply run and cherno supply run (not without it's close calls), when I make my way into a wooden house on my way to balota for some top tier gear. In the house is nothing special, when I peer out the window to make sure the coast is clear i see something a bit out of the ordinary. I look to see a survivor with a rifle being chase by a bandit with a handgun. I watched for a while and picked up my 1866 and aimed it at the bandit. I take a few shots at him and eventually boom I get a headshot! Sweet! Just saved a survivor!! I feel good. Still weary I don't come out of the house until I direct chat him "yo I shot that guy trying to kill you! U can grab his gear and I'll take the rest, do u need any supplies or are u hurt?" No answer... I am sitting in a room looking out the doorway. He peaks in with his shotgun ready.. I move.. "Woh woh don't shoot! I got you buddy it's cool!" No response.. I am moving back an forth and so is he. "Bro don't shoot.... I saved you... I could have killed you to but I didn't man" A gunshot through the doorway from his m10 shotty or whatcer.... "Wtf!!!" -"oh sorry shooting at a zombie" he types in direct "Ok I am coming out with my gun down, put ur gun down and we can work something out". I come out and he is waiting with his gun up.. I run around him while he looks like he is steadying his aim for a shot... "Stop man!!! Stop!!! I'm not gonna shoot!" I run in circles and he follows.. He fires a few rounds still ignoring my pleas... I jump back into the house and get hit in the leg breaking it... He tried to finish me but I pop off a shot to the face... "Idiot!!!! What's your problem!!! I am tryin to help!!!" I loot him... I fix myself up back in the house and grab some of his crap... I make my way toward the bandit I killed when I see another survivor.. "Friendly bud don't shoot! I'll put my gun down" Nope... I do the same game with him... But he gets me... And that's that... It's people really... It's people that ruin what could be such a great experience... My loot wasn't great.... My pack wasn't big.. What's the point? KoS has certainly taken the fun out of this game for me and it's truly sad. If that guy told me to drop my weapon an my gear, I would have done it.... But na... KoS KoS... Sigh.... -
Haha that is awesome. Guess since he was a fresh spawn he won't care to much about starting in a new server. Much better than KoS though

This is exactly how I play. I love the feeling of sneaking through cities not drawings much attention, watching snipers on buildings looking for the survivors who aren't careful while unbeknown to them being watched by me. When I get good gear I feel accomplished because usually it has taken a while and I have survived what many have not. I love weighing the psotivies and negatives of going into a market, or building, or apartment, or open field. I have usually seen everybody before they have seen me, which feels good. I have snuck up on many survivors and held them up, judged if they were friendlies or not, and either told them to run the other way for a minute or team up. Usually they obey which is nice too, but if its a bandit and he runs he will get two slugs to the back. Its a eerie feeling hearing gunfire exchanges in cities, or running into an area that isn't usually populated and hearing single shots, or zombie attacks, or footsteps! Amazing game! If it wasn't for all the deathmatch kids it would be nearly flawless. Luckily I have not died many times by banditry, mostly by me being sloppy around zombies. -

I feel like this is deathmatch. I really dont see the satisfaction of killing new spawns or unarmed ppl. Cant you screw with them a little, tell them to drop all they have? whats so rewarding about KoS? Even if i get to sneak up on somebody ill scare the shit outta them and say either DONT MOVE or I AM FRIENDLY and usually they wont fire or try to run and BAM shot... But i mean its like a damn warzone. Maybe the zombies need to be scarier or more of a threat so ppl think twice about shooting. I think this would be an amazing game if it wasnt for kids running around shooting dying and respawning and repeating. So lame when agreat game is ruined by trolls. -

After 2-3 hours of scavenging and looting I finally was ready to head North and survive this hell. I quick trip back to the medical tents near the balota airfield and I would be done. I had a G17 with 2 clips and a crowbar so I figured I was good enough to survive any attack. Well carefully making my way back to the medical tents I spotted 2 bandits in the distance, I quickly duck down. My heart was racing as they slowly crept by me in their ghillie suits lookin Equipped to the death and angry. I bet they were going to Cherno to pray on poor survivors. Well, for some reason they stopped a few meters from me and I thought I was done for, they spotted me! No... it was something else. They looked behind them for a moment... They ducked behind a bush... They peered around. Then I lost sight of them in the grass... About 2-3 minutes later they got up and slowly started heading to cherno again... CRACK CRACK CRACK!! Gunfire started and the two men scrambled and got down. They fired back, I couldn't see where the other attacker/attackers were. boom boom boom! Lots of gunfire, then it stopped... Then to my LOLz I see a guy charging them with a hatchet! He made it all the way to the bandits before 1 shot to the dome took him down. ANd I sat there...And did nothing... I help my pistol tight, and watched them loot this brave soul who tried to save the many lives these men would eventually take. I stayed in my hiding spot another 5-8 minutes before the bandits disappeared. Then I got up and checked the martyr, and looted him as well. Sorry guy, you had some balls. I went on my cowardly way.
