If you want a PvE type Zombie experience on the ARMA 2 engine just lookup: Dynamic Zombie Sandbox. Thanks, no go play something that is tailored for PvE and not try to gut what makes this project amazing. -

Exactly, I also want to add that the devs have said the game isn't meant for private (or self-contained) experiences, and that is exactly what a PvE DayZ would be. You and your buddies running around, killing glitchy zombies, farming loot and vehicles, all for what? Nothing, because without player interaction from players other than your own group you are missing out entirely on what the devs want to accomplish with this project. -

AFAIK all NEW servers are recquired to have a minimum of 40 playerslots. I think any older server can have a minimum of 25 or so. Al though I have seen 10 and 15 slots servers before, so I don't know... -

The only thing that will kill this game is the hacking problem. Or if Rocket gave into carebears like yourself... The whole point of the game is to invoke heavy emotional responses from the players. Whether that be fear, anger, remorse, pity, sorrow. All of these emotions come from the interactions between the players. It wants you to actually think about the decisions you are making/going to make, and think about the possible repercussions of those decisions. If they gutted the whole pvp aspect then the game would be so utterly boring. Think about it... The zombies are a joke, the only thing that makes them dangerous is either your own carelessness or the simple fact they are glitchy as hell in their current state. It really would just be a cross country running / loot farming simulator without the threat of other players potentially harming you. It really is as simple as this: If you can't handle the sandbox nature of the game, then MAYBE, just maybe, this isn't the game for you. -
Dedicated Server no Cars Spawning?

That's odd because the longest I've heard them taking to spawn is about three to four days. As long as you followed the proper setup procedures/rules and the server is whitelisted, then there should be no reason that your server doesn't have any vehicle spawns yet. -

I have heard that it can take a few days for vehicles to spawn on new servers. But I haven't experienced this first hand as when my clans server went up we immediately found vehicles. -

Seems like you see these OMG A HUEY threads pop up everyday. I thought this was just another one but then I saw the guy talking about the private server thing. I made the assumption that since it was "private" (meaning in no way connected to the central hive) that the vehicle spawns could be anywhere and anything, So him making a big deal out of finding a huey on a private server just seemed ridiculous to me. Thus my ridiculous post. Sure it brought nothing to the table but again that was the point...to not have one. Wait what....

Alright That was my way of basically asking the guy why make this thread? He is running a private hive and sees a huey where its spawned and thinks it's the second coming of christ or something. You are running a private server, weird things are going to happen cause, ya know, the mod isn't meant to be singleplayer.

That's the M4A1 CCO SD, it has a red dot and a supressor. Not a holo, m203 and a suppressor. -

As long as you didn't hack the items in, then you cannot get banned for using them. But it does seem that if you happen to "come across" hacked items quite frequently, they will suspect you of having a mule account and just ban you outright. So as long as you don't happen to find hacked weapons often, you're fine. Although I've heard stories of people saying they were banned for just using the items, I feel that is mostly hearsay and script kiddies trying to feel good about themselves. -

I wasn't even aware there was a "quick match" function for dayz or arma for that matter. Pretty much what jskibo said, always take note of the server name when you are connecting and disconnecting, many things could happen where having that knowledge would be really helpful. Obviously remembering the server you played on is important if you found a bicycle or a tent or something, you know something tied to the server itself. Or if you got hacked you would be able to report them and try to steer clear of that server. Or if you join and kill a guy or two and then get kicked/banned, always good to know what server you were on to be able to report admin abuse. Just a few things to keep in mind...
