Chainsaws would be stupid, you have one decent edge to do damage with. A circular saw on the other hand... There should (and likely will) be HEAPS of new weapons added as time goes on, it'd be silly not to

I seriously don't see the issue in adding more military weaponry as long as the drop rates are tweaked accordingly. The current issue is we have 18(?) military primary weapons (and 5 civilian lol) each having it's own drop chance varying from 0.19% to 4.35% What would fix the oversaturation of military weapons that most people seem to hate is having a 5% (number pulled from my arse) chance to spawn a military grade weapon. From that 5% chance you have your 0.19% to 4.35% chance to spawn one of the 18 primary weapons. This would allow MANY new weapons, both mil and civ, to be added without everyone camping the hills around Cherno with their trusty AS50/M1017 I made a thread on this a while back... Check my sig

Nah not Australia, we recently allowed R18+ (highest rating) games to be sold in the country so if there was cannibalism it'd just get the higher rating Not sure about NZ though

I was thinking of adding this to my thread (the one in my sig) but didn't due to reading somewhere a while ago that it's just not worth doing in the ARMA2 engine. I was thinking that no ammo spawns as "STANAG mag" but instead is "30x 5.56x45mm rounds" and then you can convert them as you like into limited magazines or magic ones that appear out of thin air upon filling them if having limited magazines is unfeasable

I do think we're arguing the same point; for example "That would kinda work with the whole zombie apocalypse thing. You're always going to run out of ammo more than you run out of weapons to use them. This would force players to roam around more to find more ammo/different weapons" "They should add more of both and tweak the milgrade guns to be rare and the civ guns to be more common"

I was just saying that there wouldnt be a million new ammo types associated with adding new weapons Also http://www.dayzwiki....php?title=CZ550 CZ550 = .308 Winchester ;) Though I'll admit I misread the G3 using .308 win, that's just the parent casing for the 7.62x51 NATO, either way that ammo type is already in game

My point is this isn't going to solve anything, it's just implementing a system that writes down the names of the people who kill you. People will still murder, people will still grief Also, the servers where you spawn with a gun are horrendously out of date and shouldn't ever be played on -

The balance comes in the spawn rate. If someone wants to run around with am AS50, let them - But make the spawn rate so low that they'll have to either be extremely lucky or play a lot to get it Having many weapons in the game =/= having weapon saturation
