I think your opinion and the other guys explanation are crap and that we must be playing two different games. Sniper rifles are powerful but they aren't game changers. I've taken out 5 people with an AKM and they all had AS50s. I followed them around for minutes. I've followed so many sniper rifle toting guys around, followed them to their camps, back to their vehicles, JOINED THEM without saying anything and just had a jolly good old time and never even noticed as not being someone from the group until I decided it was too late. If you think sniper rifles are crazy op you haven't learned to use the terrain differently than you currently do. Players are only powerful because people are mass duping. They'll eventually fix it and until they do the game is perfectly playable to me.

I don't think players are being that empowered. Some exploits need to be fix but other than that, sniper rifles are rare and the typical person can't even hold on to it long enough to use it. You are trying to fix a problem you aren't even addressing in this thread and that's DUPING. Sniper rifles are only common because of duping. Fix the duping and this feeling that players are being empowered will go away. Removing sniper rifles is just dumb.

I don't find snipers a problem. You say they sit outside of large popular areas and snipe people. Guess what, you are exactly right. They are sitting there and they'll get a couple of kills then troll o loll comes along with his trusty hatchet just a herp derping and spots retard thinking he's all invisible sitting in the woods and wacks that mofo to death. These guys can't snipe from that many locations and crying about them is retarded. Claiming you've done it is even more retarded because if you have then you would know too many people like me are killing those snipers off for easy loot that they are becoming more rare by the day.

Addiction is what drives DayZ. I'd say reserve me a booth at this dirty all you can eat buffet but I'll probably be playing.

For windows 7 users if you want this to go as easily as possible, Search 'my computer' for 'battleye' and delete everything you find. Delete the beta folder and revert your game back to original. The important thing is that every single file on your computer named battleye.dll is completely deleted. Then run the patch you want to run, 94876 being considered the most stable. When it installs it will ask you to install battleye and you should. Have the mod installed the way you normally do and you should be good to go.

revert your game back to original, search your entire computer for anything named "battleye" that's battl eye or battle ye "battleye" not "battleeye" and delete anything you can find. Then install the beta you want and the mod how you normally do. When you install the beta it should ask you to install battleye, if it does not you didn't delete everything you should have.

I understand all steps and completed them twice with no results. I have tried every combination of 1.7.2.3, recent betas and battle eve versions available.

I thought people knew the fix to this problem by now. Don't use Steam to launch DayZ. You must use Six Launcher or you will be invisible. This is crazy talk. Don't listen to this guy. The bug is from not having your game installed correctly.

You people and your nerfs running from game to game ruining them. The L85 isn't OP, it's got thermal yes and even with zeroing it isn't op. I can effectively kill someone at a longer distance with an enfield. The best guns in the game are sniper rifles, the AS50 and the DMR and neither should be nerfed so nerfing something that isn't as powerful is just dumb. Never have I ever been killed by an LA85 and I have 600 hours in the game. I have one stuffed in a tent and roll around with a sniper rifle. Getting head shots with the gun at distance isn't easy with thermal or not and I can get head shots with the enfield at sniper rifle distances. I've been shot by them countless times and just ran erratically while getting the players position stopped and popped him one time with an AS50 and it's game over for him. It's these types of people running from game to game ruining them. Phisher, you've repeated yourself how many times in this duplicate thread? Give it a rest. You people make duplicate threads, post insane amount of times in them to make them more popular than they need to be. I imagine you want to camp the hills of cherno and elektro and be free of people hunting snipers. The thermal does nothing but add balance to the game against people who camp in trees and bushes with ghillie suits.

The purpose of the GPS would be to have a mini map with grid locations up without opening the map which is great for driving. The markers have personal uses. You can put them up without everyone else seeing them. If you don't like other peoples public markers then remove them. My opinions are based on normal human behavior. If people are given a choice the normal or average person is going to choose the choice they prefer; meaning the typical person who plays regularly on a server play there because that's what they prefer. If they didn't prefer that they would do the normal thing and play else where. So my 'opinion' is that you aren't normal. Haven't you heard the idiom 'It's a dog eat dog world'. I don't see why this is so surprising to people. While the saying isn't always true it surely can be. Not everyone will back-stab you but if you want to take the chances on figuring out who will and who won't you will die eventually or die often. I have killed people appearing to be friendly just for giggles and I find the entire backstabbing part of the game hilarious at times; even if it was done to me. It's part of what makes DayZ addictive because you just never know what's going to happen and what stories you'll have the next day.

You don't need to be an ESP hack to find the tents on the map. Ask the people on US153, We've destroyed just about every tent on the map. Combing the forests is simple. Tents are harder to hide than vehicles. We've destroyed 200+ tents in the last few days on one single server. Finding tents deployed in forests is easier than finding one to deploy. You get a nice offroad vehicle and just drive around looking for them. I could find all the tents on a server quicker than someone could find a single tent in an area 10km2 next to my house. The only purpose tents serve on the map is to give free shit to people who don't deserve it.

Sounds like an AS50, compared to other snipers it's pretty quiet. If you were already damaged with only a little life you probably wouldn't be able to hear the second shot. Snipers can shoot from great distances so they wouldn't need to be close. You can be shot by an AS50 from distances that you can't hear any shot. I just tested it with a friend.
