In my opinion, what DayZ lacks is some sort of character development. Yeah sure, you can get the best gear or all of the gear in the game and that could qualify as character developing but that is quite boring. It is also fairly odd that once we take control of this random person that has awoken on the beach, they instantly know how to handle WWII weaponry (Or any weaponry in the game), gut animals, gather wood, drive various vehicles, and fix various vehicle parts successfully. I certainly don't know if the ARMA 2 Engine could handle this type of mechanic, but proficiencies would give more replayability to the already lacking replayability state of DayZ. For example: The more you cook meat, the more you're proficient at it which reduces your chance of making burnt meat. The more you fire and hit a target, the more your gun proficiency increases, thus less sway when aiming. The more you repair vehicles, the more health you restore to the part in which you are repairing. (As far as I've seen, once you repair a part, it turns fully green.) A person more proficient at something another player is not at could encourage teamwork and such also. Thoughts?

In my opinion, side chat made the game feel more lively. Without side chat, it's boring. I honestly miss being able to read random people's conversations of various topics. Those conversations kept me company while in running simulator mode.

Occasionally I see other players glide across my screen and/or teleport into areas. Also, whenever I get into a gunfight, I run behind a wall and players seem to be able to hit me even after I run behind it. So is this server lag or lag on my part? My internet connection is fairly stable IMO.

I prefer fast zombies. Makes you think twice about sneaking and it's harder to get them off of you. There's nothing better to keep you on your toes than fast zombies. Plus, it makes players concentrate more on zombies. Also, what I never understood about zombies in DayZ is how they can actually catch up to you once they aggro on to you but they can't hit you while running. I hope they make it so they run at a constant speed rather than catching up to you only to stop once they reach you but don't hit you.

This is the reason why this community is totally ridiculous. If you criticize the mod, you get called a whiny, casual gamer, mainstream gamer, etc. Sure, this is an Alpha but the more you complain about things the more you can get things fixed. Atleast the OP is doing more than you people who are just posting "It's Alpha". Stop attacking someone just because they have an opinion. Jesus Christ all you people are annoying.

Making things scarce would still make people kill other people for their things. Thus, making it harder will also move people towards killing other players for their gear to make it easier. There isn't really a solution to PvP. You either know someone who you can team up with or you have a 1% chance of finding someone that won't actually shoot you in the back.

I would just like to apologize to the DayZ Dev Team for "hacking/scripting" in order to gain the upper hand in the game. A little curiosity just happened to turn into a consequence that I totally regret. All I wanted to do was get back at the people that always shot me on sight. However, that doesn't make it okay. This was the very first time I ever tried "hacking". A few weeks ago, I posted about whether or not if I should buy ArmA2 and whether DayZ was worth it. I got some astounding replies. I feel almost as if all those replies went to waste just like my copy of the game. I'm so terribly sorry. Some people will probably bash me for this and inevitably label me a hacker permanently, but I understand. Maybe I'll buy a new copy again in the future. Kudos on this amazing mod Rocket. I'm sorry everyone for adding onto the frustration that everyone had experienced with hackers. I hope you all are enjoying the game as much as I did before the hacks.

So does the ghillie suit work with a beta patch only? Or does it not work at all? Just wanna get it straight.

Let me get this straight. I did this entirely for fun and giggles. I attracted a HUGE horde of zombies and I kept running around Chern until I heard gunshots. I then sprinted as fast as I could towards the direction, but I closely hugged walls and planned escape routes just in case the person decided to shoot at me. I finally found him huddled up in a building. I ran inside with the zombies and then ran out the second exit. He saw me but he didn't know what to shoot, the zombies or me. He ended up shooting me but the zombies then got attracted onto him. Soon, zombies came from the second exit to come for him since he shot a gun. He was slowly swarmed with zombies while I attracted only about 3 from the horde I previously had on me. I ran around the building listening to his character scream. It was hilarious LOL.

Here are my PC specs. I ran the benchmark once and I get 32 FPS average before the tweaks. But it doesn't feel that way at all when I play. I turned AA and Post Processing off. Every other setting I have is on normal. Visibility is 1500. Second benchmark I got 42 FPS average. I swear it doesn't feel that way when I actually play lol. I get like 10 FPS.

Does anyone know any tweaks or fixes for FPS drops and such? I can barely do anything with the terrible FPS that I get in this game. I fell off a roof and died because of it.
