So - i've been experiencing some weird stuff on Epoch, weapon damage wise. If you don't want to read my explanations for asking this - skip to the end. First was about a week ago. I was covering my buddies down at Balota and we knew another group was in the area, the same one that had followed us from Balota to a few hundered M inland in the dark. Bent on revenge for the stalking, but with little in the way of firepower, (Exept for me) we were gearing up. I could see Zeds spawning at a large fort (The server had a completely new Balota with like 20 barracks and shit) about 500m from my group, who were looting a firestation. I stared down my M24 scope for a few minutes, trying to locate the guy, when i zoom out to see a Fully-geared, DMR toating guy 5 meters away watching the airfield. I pull out my PKP and open fire. My first burst hit him atleast twice - but soon after i heard him screaming, so i fired again - nope - 4 PKP shots to kill. I took the NVGs, DMR, $, Car keys, and ran. Now today - we found a new server. I managed to find an M40A3 with a hoard of Ammo and headed to Komarovo to wait for my friend. Overlooking the factory, i saw a guy parachuting in. I decided to do what i swore i never would - kill a fresh spawn for bandages. One shot and he's bleeding, secound and i think he's dead, untill my friend rolls up and checks his pulse. He's still alive. How da fuq? Two hits, M40A3... My friend has to kill him because he is to low on blood to stay awake, and he then runs to the factory where he is gunned down my a G36 SD bandit. The bandit then runs into one of the sheds and starts to pick up a tire. Again - i hit him twice, and then the little bitch crawls in a corner and logs. I waited 30min and he never came back. But to the point - Is 7.62 damage nerfed on Epoch? It seems to be worse than 5.56 now, taking as much/more hits to kill.

Even so, .45 isn't a one-shotter anymore. The Garand uses .30-60, which is one of those early 1900s cartridges, original used in the Springfield 1903. Its not to common even in the US, and costs well over 1$ a round usaully. The Enfield uses .303 british, At least the ones you will find commonly, which is even rarer than 30-60 becuase it wasn't used in a ton of Civilian guns, and any surplus ammo left is unusable after 65 years. (In the US, atleast) The Mk16 isn't in vanilla, either. Some servers added it, but it's not a legit spawn. -

Garand with more common ammo but less damage? This isn't the US dude. And they would do the same damage. Finding a Garand outside of America or Israel is pretty much impossible, and ammo even harder. The P226 fires 9mm Parabellum. It would do EXACTLY THE SAME damage as other 9mm's ingame. .223 is 5.56 but they differ in loads. The bullet is exactly the same size and would do the same damage, and they would be interchangeable in an AR. It isn't "Scallee down" There are no Scars in vanilla dayz either and they don't fit the setting At all. But anyway, i don't think we'll see anymore new guns in the mod, besides maybe some from Arma. Maybe M4SPR as AR-15? -
If we aren't getting a Nagant becuase it uses a unique cartridge, i doubt we'll get a .303 gun that they can't really use in anything else besides a Bren. They would probably be in Chernarus (AKA Russian/Turkish border) but becuase the devs seem to dislike having more than five calibers it's pretty much useless to ask for guns like this. It may be added, or maybe the 7.62x51 version, but i doubt it. Actaully it appeard to be a G98 or other older-model Mauser. It definitely wasn't a K98K

Funny thing about the Soviets - they deliberately made their weapons look rough, denying any attempts to streamline them. Thats probably why alot of weapons like the TKB weren't adopted. And they look awsome as cheese. Op - This would be neat but, i've never seen one irl, and idk how common they wou - Screw it, +1. They need to add a semi-automatic civil AR-15 to. -
Rpg unrealistic? Every CDF squad had one or two. Also bullets - that's pretty far from true. There are billions of 7.62x54, and probably trillions of 7.62x39 around. So much that the Ex-combloc military feels comfortable exporting some while they still use it. In Chernarus though, M4 bullets would probably be pretty rare, aswell as .45. I agree that ammo spawns should be reduced, but not to that extent.

In my opinion lightly armed vehicles are a necessity, like Technicals and MI-17s with PKM's and PKT's. While alot of people think helicopters with guns are OP, they really aren't. If the helicopter is moving at a decent, it is practically impossible to hit anything smaller than a car. If you do, it's more luck than skill. The only way to kill players with the helis was to slow down or stop the helicopter, at which point it is ridiculously easy to kill the crew - i cannot tell you how many times I've shot out gunners with M14s, M24s, SVDs, AKMs, Lee-enfields, and even a Winchester. The main use of armed helicopters is to Suppress the opponents so the helicopter can get away, or to engage vehicles. Your not going to be wasteing hundreds of bullets on players, like in the mod. And technicals - seeing as you will probably be able to shoot right through cars, they are extremely far from OP, as the same limitations to helicopter guns apply, but they are much easier to hit than heli gunners.

These guns are complete and utter shit, and were designed that way. After 50 rounds they LITERALLY fell apart. They have no finish as they were MADE to rust away after a decade. Any that are still around aren't functional or only able to fire a few rounds before breaking at most. Oh and, there isn't even any evidence of them being dropped to my knowledge. Most were sunk into the Ocean after the war. And to those arguing about how this world isn't real - It's supposed to be a realistic world hit by an apocalypse, not a Fallout/HL type random guns everywhere becuase they are coolz type. Also - why? It takes around eight .45's to drop a guy - do you think a guy is going to let you stand infront of him and spend two minutes shooting at him from 5m? And yeah - it would take five minutes becuase of the reloading mechanism, which needed the operator to use a stick to push out the spent round and often to secure a new one. This is mainly becuase they're purpose was to be fired once and thrown away. Mosins maybe, but not guns that have absolutely no use except as museum pieces. Your better off with your fists, or making your own gun.

Yeah, tge problem is that version is more of a US thing, where 7.62x38 is rare. But it would probably be the only way to get one. There are plenty of .32 ACP guns that fit, to, but the likelihood of them adding them is slim/none sadly, as we may not even get 9x18.

On the roadmap something was said about vehicle weapons - idk if that means guns or sharpened logs on the front. Most likely though, it means guns.

The mod is currently much better, and i've pretty much stopped playing SA. (Exept when any new updates come out) And i've noticed the servers filling back up. That won't last more than a year though, sadly. I will watch your series. Keep it up! -

This was where i always set up trades in the mod. Pretty neat little place. Once i found a near-pristine Ural with SVD, DMR, Mk.48 outside the church. One of my best every finds. -
I would rather see an 1866 TBH. Neither fit the setting (Which is actually, in the real world, is Turkey) but the 1866 is a DayZ classic. Currently in the mod, it does 8900dmg and has an extremely high knock-out chance, fires extremely fast, is quiet... it's a beast i often drop an AK for when i'm looting a city. It would probably be my main weapon of it were in.

So your saying you shouldn't be able to make tecnicals? Let me explain something: a technical is a pickup truck with a Machinegun on it's bed. Tge gunner STANDS UP inside the bed to fire And is an easy target. They aren't "Powerful" or even military, and can be seen in virtually every conflict zone since the 1960s. Its extremely feasible that in an apocalypse survivors would mount a Gpmg or even a .50 on a vehicle to mow down hoards of zombies.

Yeah i haven't found one since before the sks but i haven't been looking. Ik they're still common enough, though, becuase it seems everyone i see with a Mosin/SKS has one. What i can't find is LRS. I found one, about a week after the release, and the rest i've gotten of dead snipers -

Production ended right after WWII, but over two Million were made, and they last virtaully forever, so plenty are still around. Damn.. the model in that vid wasn't done very well. Makes the handle waaay to thin, and tge sights non-existent. Nice to know someone actaully made one in Arma, though. I never could find one.

And abandoned mine :) It would be cool if there was something like a Dead hunter's bodie that spawns in the woods, and he would have Basic survival gear, hunter clothing, and a moderate chance of a rifle or bow and Hunter's pack.

That probably was to. I didn't watch the entire vid. RH weapon packs are just about the Highest-quality weapons in Arma2/3. They made their way into virtaully every DayZ mod mod, and there are dozens of different types per pack, all with high-quality models and sounds. One thi g i don't like about them is i can hit a target with an M9 from 300m
