    Wooden Makarov Grips - Attachment

"Should be able to attach the Wooden/Bakelite makarov PM grips" - I know they're bakelite. I'm simply refering to them as Wooden as they are (Atleast, i've read) meant to resemble wood and most people who would read this thread would be like, "whaddy-yut, you want to add more plastic grips to the makarov?" Btw, AK-74 mags are not and never were Bakelite, they were polythene. In that case, they need to just remodel the whole thing anyway.

    New weapon confirmed? VSS Vintorez

Why the AK-9? The barrel length on the SR-3 is only a little bit shorter, and the overall length (With stocks folded and no suppresor) is about the same. Ingame differences would be minimal, (Besides the slightly more accurate AK9) and it uses a different magazine than the VSS, detractiing from it's usefullness. I think the VSS, SR-3 or maybe AS VAL (Folding stock, hence ability to fit in packs) and the OTs would be enough for this family of guns.

    new pistol

Probably won't happen now that the devs are adding the 9.39mm for the VSS, even though 7.62x25 Tokarev. would be a much more logical caliber to add.

    Maxim M1910

So, ever had some guys hold up in a House, and need to lay down suppressive fire? AKM doesn't quite cut it does it? That's where this thing comes in. The Maxim M1910 was a 7.62x54 Heavy Machine Gun virtually unchanged from the 1883 Maxim gun. It was mounted on a heavy "Slovak" wheeled carriage which allowed it to be transported quickly, but brought the weight to 139 Pounds. The mount also featured a Removable Metal shield that might deflect shrapnel and Long-range rifle fire. It was water-cooled, fired at 600 RPM and was fed from a 250-round belt. It served the Tsarist Imperial Russian Army through WWI, Then both sides in the 1917 Revolution. Although obsolete by the 1930s it fought all the way through WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and even in the recent conflicts in Afghanistan. Now, you may think, a 104-Year old Machinegun won't be active anymore. Ukraine, 2014. this is an Early model, by the water jacket. Many are popping up on the web in Ukraine, and some are still used by Re-enactors and a few are probably in the Warehouses of the Russian Federation. So what's the point? This thing proved it could fire thousands of rounds for days on end in WWI, and with the heavy mount, there won't be recoil. So, even if a PKM is added, it's not as if this thing would be useless. It would be the sort of thing you would haul out when you need to keep firing and not have your barrel overheat or Jam up all the time. So, when your defending or attacking a base, or when you want to blow the absolute shit out of a vehicle. And, it's not really OP. It's not a .50, it fires Mosin ammo, which you would have to find a TON of to keep this thing going, then ammo belts, Water for the barrel, spare barrels eventually.. Then, it has a limited traverse, so you'll have to fix it on a target and hope you don't get flanked. It's also more practical than a lot of other similar weapons because it can be pushed/pulled by one man (Albeit slowly). It could also be deadly when mounted on a vehicle. Hell, I don't really care if it's a maxim or not (Although they're extremely cool) I just really like the idea of the Wheeled mount. Both the DsHK and the Maxim's replacement, the SG-43 and SGM had similar mounts. It's a lot simpler and easier than Tripods. How would it work? It wouldn't be like a gun, it would act like a Vehicle, being tied to a server and never despawning. Maybe it could be found near one of the Bars or hidden in a barn somewhere. you would have to "Get in" it to use it, then you could push it slowly or load it into a pickup or something.

    Nagant M1895 - Poll

Oh I know they are also .380, I was simply suggesting .32 a round and allow for the implementation of the Nagant... yeah I had the dumbs that day... got up to early. Of all those guns though, the only ones I really want are the CZ-83 and Skorpion, to expand on the .380 (*Cough Cough* Need 9x18) Family, unless of course .32 was added, then I would love to see a small pocket pistol like the M1910.

I've seen a lot of people bringing this thing up again.

  8. When was that? Weapon damage was highly increased a couple months ago. It used to take that much if they had body armor on sometimes.

    Does DayZ need aeiral transport?

As i said before - i want the AN-2 biplane. It would fit really well into DayZ (It was already in the mod) and could be fitted with light machine guns for dogfighting... imagine watching that... They stall to easy for strafing the ground. I also have visions of WWII bomber movies, with bullet holes being ripped in the plane from ground 2cm machine gun fire, cutting up the crew inside. (No, i don't want 20mm guns... a 7.62 would work on an AN-2) Would lead to those "O' shit" moments when you see small shafts of sunlight light coming through the small holes that are starting to punch through the cargo bay. (Ofcourse, the arma engine is to sucky for this)
  10. I don't think you understand that someone could do the exact same thing with a Sporter, a Magnum, Mosin, SKS or even a Blaze. ANY gun can kill you just as fast. In the mod, i typically used a Lee-Enfield (Bolt action) and would win over AKMs and M4's 70% of the time. The 30% was usaully due to them having the drop on me, being in CQC, or simply they were better than me. How? I tried to stay out of close-range environments, using the accuracy of the enfield to my advantage, and kept on my heels. Even in CQC when you have a Mosin, if you see the guy with the auto first, you can take him down easily. What i get from you, whether i'm correct or not, is that your having a hard time with PvP and are blaming all your problems on automatic weapons. (No offence ment) I suggest you be more careful (look both ways before you cross the street.. applies here to) and don't hang around in the big cities. Those are PvP capitals, and you can get the same loot by hitting a couple villages.

    Lethal Creatures

It's located somewhere along the Caspian sea under the Russian Black Mountains. (Under Volgo/Stalingrad, Above Georgia) Atleast from about everything I've ever seen. The province the map is set in (South Zorgia) has the heightmap from a region of the Czech Republic. The actual culture seems to be based the Czech republic and Russia. (I believe all the Rivers are fake, as searching their names on google maps takes me all over Eastern Europe and Asia) http://www.arma2.com...narus/chernarus Anyway, your al forgetting about the creature lurking on... GREEN MOUNTAIN

One of the german G36 variants in DayZ

If they dropped any guns, it would probably be surplus G3s. Anyway, I think the AUG will be the only "European" NATO 556 rifle. Anyway, the AUG was probably only added because Rocket used it in the NZ Army. (Some reason the NZ Berret was added)

    Does DayZ need aeiral transport?

Why do people think the "Gunships" (Copters with doorguns) will be able to mow people down with no effort? (I say "Gunships" as a real gunship would be an MI-24, AKA Hind, Apache, or a Heli outfitted with rockets, ect) In the mod, they were basically useless, as it was impossible to aim with them, unless you held COMPLETLY still, thus making you extremely easy to hit with an Enfield. Every single twich the heli made threw the gun WAY off. Keep in mind, these aren't miniguns, they are 7.62mm machine guns, held by an exposed door gunner and firing at 600rpm - That will DRAIN your ammo. They are for suppressive fire - The only thing you can even hit with it is a car. You won't need an Anti-aircraft missile to shoot it down - A mosin shot threw the cockpit will suffice - One shot for up to like, 6 kills. Also, you can hear a Heli from 1000m out, that gives you plenty of time to duck behind a tree or inside a house. After all that though, I don't even want a Heli. Not for combat OPness, but because one guy with a Stolen heli can find every tent on the map in ~30min. I only want one of the most Classic DayZ vehicles - the Anotov AN-2 biplane. Useless for gear hunters, nearly useless for combat, (Unless you can drop shit from it.. grenade blitz of cherno...) and only able to land in open areas... Guess what? BARREL ROLL!

    Learning The Map

Just go on Arma 2, spawn a car in the editor and drive around for awhile. And if you really need it, use an online map (I recommend DayZDB) but as previously stated, that really ruins the game. Believe it or not, one of the funnest parts about DayZ is not knowing the map and not knowing how to deal with zombies - Because the game is much more intense when your on your tows all the time, running from barn to barn across the countryside at midnight, flares lighting the way... Sadly for me, after 800 hours, I know every single pebble on the ground in Chernarus, and what Zombies? you mean that fly? I will never again experience the real thrill of DayZ - Being confused and scared shitless. If you want to learn the map while actually playing, i'de suggest finding a PVE Epoch mod server. There are usually people willing to take in a newer player, (Atleast, I used too. Again, PVE servers) and it's usually necessary to drive across the map in Epoch. I learned a lot about the main roadways from my guide who's name is lost to history, But you won't learn much about the Backroads doing that. Eventaully once you've got a decent mental map, and do some AI missions for target practice, hop back on a Vanilla/Epoch/whatever your playing PVP server and you'll kick ass.

    Nagant M1895 - Poll

On track to Nagant suppressor, and Literally 2xp away from the AVT atm. I was able to find a little more info on the KR-22. It's a .22lr nagant with a Stock and Foregrip that weights 2kg, currently produced by Izhmash. Unfortunately that's about all I know about it... no production figures. If you google the name, some Russian article will pop up, along with an English one, linking to it for more info. there are also .22lr Nagant training revolvers. All of these could be pretty useful as they don't need magazines, but can be fired double action (Higher rate of fire than the Trombone). I'de rather see .32 ACP though. There are tons of .32 guns that would fit DayZ. Firstly, the VZ-61 Skorpion Machine Pistol. Needs no introduction. Then there are dozens of .32 pocket pistol models that were mass produced from the early 1900s to the 1980s, with a few modern designs being around aswell. Here I picked the Most famous, Mass-produced versions. Browning M1910 - Used to kill Arch Duke Ferdinand, and essentially allow Austria invade Serbia (Later Yugoslavia) and start WWI. also carried by Al Capone. Walther PPK - James Bond's favorite gun. Hitler also used one to shoot himself 70 years ago in 1945. Zastava M70 - Made in Yugoslavia post-wwii. Was widely used by Police and is still common there. CZ-27 - Czechoslovakia's standard sidearm during the interwar years. Hundreds of thousands were produced, and production continued for the Germans during WWII and for export after the war. CZ-50 - Replaced the CZ-27 in production for the commercial market (The Czech military adopted the 7.62x25mm CZ-52) and widely used by Police. CZ-83 - Commercial version of the military CZ-82. Produced in .380 and .32. .32 versions had 15-round magazines. Widely produced and Exported. Of these, I feel the VZ-61, CZ-27, and CZ-83 fit the best, as Bohemia created a Spinoff of CZ (Česká zbrojovka) known as CR (Chernarusk Zbrojovka) that produces the CR-75 and CR-527. and many more.... Browning m1900, Mauser HSc, Berretta M1934... That I don't think you'd see a lot of in chernarus. .32 could be a low-powered Self-defence round, chambered in the small pocket pistols (that could take up 2 slots) and the Skorpion, which would be inferior to other SMGs but only take 4 slots, and the decent CZ-83, with it's high capacity but low damage, aswell as the re-cylindered Nagant. Guns chambered for it would be quiet and have little recoil, but would also have low damage and short effective range. edit: For when those people who are to lazy to read the names of the rounds closely start crying, there are man names for .32 ACP, including 7.65mm Browning, .32 Auto, .32 Browning Auto, ect

A new loot location, Rebel Caches

I was planning to make a thread just like this.. i even have the perfect place for a camp. The rocks on Skalka mountain (overlooking the spawn point of the Ural-4320 in the mod). Not only could these spawn the weapons you listed but also the DP, Maxim, Dushka, and other older machine guns, aswell as IED parts and old Soviet uniforms.

Can we give sporter 22 attatchments?

Yes, the earmuffs. I don't use them when i'm shooting alone, but as i live in the city i go to an outdoor range where people shoot everything from BB guns to .50s on benches 3ft apart. So yeah, i wear heavy hearing protection. But a .22 sounds about EXACTLY like it does ingame with earmuffs on, but slightly sharper.

    Some ideas for Random events.

Ever since I found my first Helicopter crash site in the mod (I stumbled upon it not even knowing they existed) I've been thinking up new ideas for similar events. here's a few of the more viable ones. Life raft: A mysterious rubber life raft with a couple Zombies inside washed up on the coast. It could spawn basic equipment like raincoats, heatpacks, food, flareguns and flares, ect. It could even become a vehicle for the player. Plane crash: Some random military cargo plane has crashed. This wouldn't have so many weapons (Maybe a pistol or SMG for the Crew's self defense) but it could spawn large supplies of one item, which would be random (So, say, a TON of Helmets, or tons of 5.45 rounds, or even crate loads of AKs) to simulate the plane's cargo. Obviously these would be extremely rare and have a massive cloud of smoke over it that would attract players. Fuel Truck: Some unfortunate Trucker crashed his V3S Fuel truck. Since fuel will probably become rare later on, this could be a blessing to those who found it, who would be running back in forth with Jerry Cans in an attempt to store as much as possible. Helicopter: Some Military obviously survived, right? this would basically be an Mi-17 that flew over the map loaded with supplies. Anyone who had the firepower to shoot it down would be one rich fellow, but you would need an LMG (which, apparently, atleast one of which will be added) and a ton of ammo. There's more, but those include derelict Cargo ships and such, which are obviously not viable.

Thanks for the bump. I unfortunately haven't unlocked it yet... getting close though.

    Some ideas for Random events.

I fail to see your point. i'm not suggesting that dynamic events be added, they are obviously confirmed. these are ideas for different types of them.

    dead bodies should not dissapper

I think they should stay until server restarts. It was always unnerving in the Mod to find a body in the middle of nowhere, especially since the "examin body" thing would say "He was shot in the head" 90% of the time - It would get you wondering - is whoever killed this guy still around? At one point i found a clan's camp that had been besieged, and it appeared that everyone had died as the ground was littered with bodies. They also served as a warning - a Body in the middle of the field ment there may be a Sniper, or that there atleast were Bandits in the area. Unfortunately, they just added a standalone-type system where bodies despawn in the mod.

    Mauser C96

Oh, and as for the 1919, i keep seeing them in pictures from Iraq and Afghanistan, along with SG-43s, Maxims and Mg-42s. I'm assumng they were sold off from Israeli stocks, but they seem quite common. If they were to add some kind of "Criminal" spawn point, i'de be all for it.

I have to disagree on the PPS. It would perform much differently than the PPSh, and seeing as, like the US M3, it remained in limited use with tankers until the ealy 1980s (At which point it was replaced by the AKS-74u) i'de say it's just as likely to be encountered as the PPSh. And yes, i know the differnce between the Vz.24 and 26, and i didn't count both of them. What i would like to see from those is the Wood stock being an attachment. And for the Bizon, i would also rather have a .380 version. I just threw that in there as another 7.62x25 weapon. I have a feeling that the 7.62 version is only available for production, but never actaully produced. And for the C96, there's no reason they can't add it as 7.62 if they indeed go that rout. The AK-74m was re-purposed for the AK-101, afterall... just remove the "Red 9" from the grip. I would love to see a DP-28 and Maxim (I actaully made a thread about the Maxim if you recall) and i honestly forgot about the Winchester, but i can't really picture finding one of these anywhere on the map. What i would like to see is an old Soviet weapon warehouse added to the map, where many of said weapons are still stored. It would be an interesting place where you could find a ton of old Weapons, from Mosins to Maxims and Winchesters, and maybe even some old Urals outside. As for Modern Russian ARs, i'm all fore them (especially the AN-94 and AK-105) if they add Russian military crashsites. I can't really see the Chernarussian Government having these. (It could also spawn guns like to Mp443 and PP-19)

Can we give sporter 22 attatchments?

You know what the Sporter sounds like? It sounds EXACTLY like a .22 does when you have shooting headphones on. I believe whoever put the sound effect in chose the one they thought sounded most like the "Real thing" they shot at the range.
  25. thedogfoodyayho

    Mauser C96

Why do you include the PPD-40 but always exclude the PPS-42/3? (Which was WAY more common than the PPD, remained in production until the late 1940s, and acts way different than the PPSh) There are also versions of the CZ-52 with nice target sights, and from my experience the CZ-52 is much easier to shoot accurately than the TT. (Though I would rather just have the TT, as even this is little difference) but there are more 7.62 tok guns than you might think. Versions of the Bizon use it, (with a vertical 35-round mag), and the Czech Vz.24 and 26, (Which was also available in 9x19 as the Vz.23 to be fair) could be a nice compact Uzi-style weapon with a nasty armor-piercing bite. So there's what? atleast 7 guns with different characteristics (PPSh is the "Trench Broom", the PPS is the crappy slow-firing SMG, the Bizon is modular and sits between the two and the Vz.24/26 is the Compact unique gun, while the CZ-52 is the more accurate Tokarev and the C/96 is the cool one). And think about this: They've pretty much capped out the .357, they really can't add more than four 7.62x54r (SVT, mosin, SVD, PKM) guns, and there's only about 3 guns they can really add that shoot 5.45x39 rounds (The AK-74s and the RPK-74, though some rarer guns could be an option - AN-94 anyone?) And there's a fairly limited number of .380 guns that are actually different. and .30-06, only the Garand and a Model 70. Oh wait, there's the M1919 and the BAR... just no.
