Mod worth playing still or too many hackers?
thedogfoodyayho replied to Killroy6873's topic in New Player Discussion
Haven't encountered any huge hackers in 8 months in the mod. Although one time this guy took 10 AKM rounds and killing me with an MP5. I've seen 4 hackers in less than 60 SA hours. But other than that, i'de really recommend the mod rn. Its a pleasant change from Balotafield to a bit more interaction. Heres the key. Stay off populated servers. Smallee servers are usaully populated by friendly(ish) players, though still don't turn back. I wuv headshotting them when they make that mistake. And rn its harder to do anything in the mod than in SA. You're going to need dayz commander to play though. If you really want hardcore, threatening zombies, try DayZ+, a mod for a mod. -
Theres also Sawed-Off ks-23s... I fcking want it now!

Western-feeling | Or: My 2 wishes: Hat & Leg Holster
thedogfoodyayho replied to irishroy's topic in Suggestions
Trade off for American designs:http: //commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nagant-holstered.jpg They need to add a holster for that gun to, because its holster looks buass. As for the hat, it doesn't really make much sense. Same for other clothing. Love to see more holsters though. -
Now if it was added, it needs to be extremely rare, like M136 in the mod rare. In-game though, it would be a pretty good weapon. No magazines needed, common ammo (if the Tokarev is in) and accurate. I did some research on using 7.62 in 7.63, and it turns out that a Tokarev can use mauser ammo. No idea how it fits but it does. Infact, some earky PPD SMGs were apparently marked "7.63x25." So if a tokarev can use 7.63, i'de say a Mauser can use 7.62 with pretty good accuracy. And as for it not being used anymore,it is a collector's gun, in the west. They are apparently still used in Afghanistan and i bet are rarely seenin eastern Europe. The west has to many collectors and to few Mausers for criminals to get them. That is, if they aren't being blown up in Australia.

Wow, mostly WWII era British vehicles. Bravo. Mostly anything you would find in a place like Chernarus would be UAZ-469 jeep thingy, Gaz-69 jeep, Ural-435 6x6 trucks (Which were everywhere in Arma 2) and maybe a BRDM, although if thats added, no turret. The chances of finding any of your vehicles is 0%. Especially since half of them haven't been used since 1945. Personally i think most vehicles should be civilian, like: GAZ sedans, VAZ "Lada" sedans, Skoda sedans and vans, Ural(s?), and a pickup truck. Maybe a civilian UAZ variant, and some ambulances, fire trucks (Urals) ect. But please, before you post some things like this, look into the map/setting first. We're not in a British tank museum.

Bicycle Suggestions/Discussion [Official]
thedogfoodyayho replied to ianaconda's topic in Suggestions
Wow, if you seriously think becuase you can kill people this entire game is PvP, just uninstall it. DayZ was never made for Deathmatch, it was made to be a cruel survival simulator with Bandits sticking people up for beans. (FYI, if you kill everyone you see, including fresh spawns, you are not a bandit. Bandits take what they need/want and Usaully let the guy go. Killing everything that moves isn't being a bandit.) -
No, just no. Unless you have a $100 mic like very few people do, its going to be HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM *Keyboard* MMMMMMMMMMM For anyone within hearing distance, revealing positions and making it impossible to sneak up on people. Plus theres one thing to remember. There IS a line between realistic and fun. In my opinion this would be crossing it. And how is it an invasion of privacy? That fact that anyone within 40m could hear anything in my house is a HUGE invasion of privacy. A d as for it being "Hardcore only" that means anyone who doesn't want it would be stuck on "Player radar, spawn with M4" servers or completely full public hives with 24/7 DM.

I'm not saying that all servers are bad. But it seems the majority spawn in jets/tanks and level cities, and cry when they Lose. -
Street Sign Need English Name and Why
thedogfoodyayho replied to Styxx (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I think it adds to the suspense to not know where you are. It renders Browser maps slightly less op, but DayZBD has both the Russian and English letters. But once you play awhile, you won't even look at the signs. Stop trying to turn this into a "more fun" game by making it easier. -
My Greatest, nd first, Mod Experiencei
thedogfoodyayho replied to King of kong's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My first time was back when you spawned with a makarov. It was pitch black, i could see a heli off the coast, searchlight on and the music was almost making me shit my pants. I didn't know how to chat, but i saw a car speed past me. I ended up dying from trying to chest shot Zeds with a Makarov... My favorite involved Namalsk, stealing a heli, forcing an An-2 to crash, and killing several players in a barracks in about 45 mins, but thats a long one, so i'll post it tomorrow. -
Lol yeah. Irl though tge Mi-4 was a pretty sturdy chopper. That ones just been left outside to long :/

Vybor (Office building) Pavlovo mil base (Hoslital, large office building) Office building in Berenzino lumber yard. -
Nah thats how WWII era scopes were. Its not made for long-range use. Its best used like an ACOG.

You'd run out of powder and primers before you ran out of bullets. Ever been to a big gun store? They usually have crates of 5.56, 7.62x39/54, 9mm, and shelves of .22 lieing around while maybe 4 types of cartridges to reload. And as i said, i doubt many people reload outside the US, aand especially not in Chernarus.

Why wouldn't this pistol make sense gews? As i've stated they are found all over the world even today, and were a common pistol back in thec'30s-'40s. Where do you think one million pistols went? And the C96 was never really used by the German military in WWII. WWI, sure, but during the secound WW most used were privately purchased by SS officer's and some pilots. They had also been out of production for a few years. They were also extensively used during the Russian Civil war.

Yes, no adults know how to drive. Clap. Clap. Clap. Maybe for helis though.

Mi-6 was its predecessor, and many nearly a thousand Mi-6s were made. As far as i know, the Mi-26 is only used by russia.

Hello! Though I would make one of these My votes are for Rare military weapons and common Civillian rifles. Tell me if you want a weapon added to the poll!

Why wouldn't lead work? Technically, it does, but for several reasons, its far from desirable. First is that it DOES mush. I've seen it happen, mainly in AR and AK type rifles. Pistols seem to work fine. Secound is that the lead melts and rubs off into the barrel every time you fire it. It gets worse with higher velocities, so it may not have much effect with a 9mm but would destroy a .5.56 or especially a 7.62 But really, in-game it seems like a giant waste of time, both implementing and useing. So you get all the tools, bullet, primer, casing, powder, ect. You spend an hour getting everything. Then what? You get >1< Bullet when you could find 50 at Pusta. Furthermore, not very many people have reloading supplies lieing around, especially for guns firing cheap surplus Soviet 7.62x54 and the soon to be penny o' dozen .22s. Most people only reload for rare/expensive ammo, like .44, .303, .30-60, or when they want to make "Hybrid" ammo with different velocities or shit. By the state of Chernarus as we left it in Arma, i'de say people have guns to put food on the table, not spend hours reloading.

Coconuts? Tigers? Piranhas? Where do you think this game takes place?
-
You don't need a "Big rig" to run SA. Plus, the new map would be massively OP in the mod, becuase theres, i think 20 barracks in it. In addition, i tried porting Chernarus+ into Arma 2 and 3, and it worked, but the Buildings, plants, roads, rocks, water, ect wouldn't work. So basically i had the Grass abd dirt. So they would have to replace ALL the trees and rocks, buildings, roads, railways, powerlines, phonelines, ect. And by the time they're done, SA is complete.

Hey, just wondering, will it be possible to turn a Ak-74 into an Aks-74 kobra? The problem would be the the AKS-74 has a folding stock, and theres no Ak-74 kobra in Arma. Unless you replaced the standard Ak with a fold-stocked version. Also, will we maybe be able to find Grenade launchers to attach (M203 for M16/m4, GP25 for ak, ect) at any point in the future?
