The huge map is a huge factor. The point of this game isn't to grab all the epicz lootz so you canz go kill freshspawns. Stop complaining and walk. Even when they're implemented (Not anytime soon) its not like your going to find one in every town. There was a max of 15 bikew per server in the mod, most of which ended up up north hidden in the woods. I doubt your going to see any more than that. And you newbies have it easy. In the mod, you couldn't just go to a military base. There was 3 bases on the entire map, and only one was worth looting. There was only a few/none enterable buildings in every town. Looting Kozolvka, Kamyshovo, Kemenka, ect, got you a tin can at best. Stop complaining. -

Ah yeah it probably does. Virtaully all my experience comes from the M1895 Nagant, which cylinder is locked in place, like a Colt Peacekeeper. But the problem i see is if you spin it while its out, you can see which rounds have been fired/are missing, and once its back in the gun, then you know where it is. -

No. Forced VOIP is a fucked up idea. It completely ruins teamplay aswell. And as for it "Ruining immersion", doesn't extremely rare Belgian pistols, fresh fruit in houses, and the apparent lack of cars ruin it more? For me it does. -

Best way would be that you get A "Worse" Spawnpoint every time you die, the worst being skalisty island. Effectively eliminates spawn Kamikazes aswell. -

Cylinders don't really "Spin" well though. They stop everytime they align with the barrel, so spinning it isn't going to move it far unless you sit there rotating it 20 odd times. -

Nah, when you die, you should get a "Worse" spawnpoint (IE noobs wanting to get to balota from kemenka, respawns in Solnichiny, if suicides again, Krutoy Cap, and if they continue they spawn on Skalisity island. Also adds more reason to stay alive, instead of suicide-punching, becuase even if your shot, you'll still get a "Bad" spawnpoint.

I couldn't find ANY gear in aftermath besides trash in boxes and a hatchet off a dead guy. I think i heard somewhere they're going to go with fortifying houses, which is the best idea in my opinion, as long as we have tents and shit still. Personally i'de like to be able to build a small shack to, along with fences. And civilian, bright-colored tents! But epoch's building system was extremely annoying for raiding. Everyone and their mother had 5+ Safes and locked cars, in addition EVERY FUCKING BARRACKS had a brick wall blocking the door. Plus, try making plywood out of little logs and then making perfect walls, doors, wibdows ect from it. -
Back to the mod for me, until SA has some more shit added. So i decided to get on a Medium-pop clan epoch for some Raiding/Pvp. After bashing the shit out of locked cafs with my hatchet, i found an AKM and a few mags and headed inland. I had seen several choppers flying around so i took the back roads up north to stay hidden. I was near Devil's castle and BAM! Giant, 3-story base with 4 Helis linee up outfront, all locked. I walked around the exterior looking for a door, and found the Garage unlocked. 2 Armored SUVs inside. This might be a good raid.... Got into their storage area and grabbed a Pkp, Large gunbag, UZI, SVD Camo, shitloads of food, ghillie, ect. I was about to leave when i hear a heli coming towards the base. Looking through one of the windows i saw a Chinook landing 200m away, boty guns manned. I managed to hide in some weird room before they get inside. Them: "Who took my PKP?" This was extremely stupid of me - Me: "Me" 20 Secounds later, insta death + ban. Not even a non Pvp server, either. My friends are going to destroy the base in a few days, although i'm sire the admin will hack it back in. Next, i shot at an Admin's tank on another server. Ban. Now i'm onna pretty good one, so it seems. At least, i killed the admins friend and didn't get banned. Anyone else have this happen?

Well why are there M4s, UK vestscand Kevlar Helmet? My guess on the M4 was that after the Civil War, the CDF adopted NATO standard weapons/equipment , explaining the Hmmvs and vests aswell. And the helmets. In arma 2 the CDF used them. But anyway, yes. More eastern equipment is badly needed. From Arma 2's website, we know Chernarus was part of russia from 1631 to 1917, then the USSR until 1991 when it gained independence. From this its pretty much confirmed the region was involved in WWII, which is the reasoning behind the monuments, ect. Heres a few things i'de like to see. Weapons: Ak-74, Akm/Aks, Rpk-74, SVD, Vz.58p/v, Tt-33, Nagant (MUST ADD!!) Makarov/makarov PMM, Cz.52, Stechkin/Ots-33, Toz-18, toz-194, Ks-23, ect. Equipment: CDF Uniforms, webbing, ect. WwII Era soviet uniforms, complete with high-leather boots with pants tucked in. Russian gas mask Some war "Bringbacks," like some German uniforms/weapons and some trophies from Afghanistan. And for a few random things: Once radios are added, i want to see the Soviet and Chernarussian anthems available. A large reathed hammer & Sickle on one of the international hotels. Some old, Soviet poster on a wall somewhere A few portraits of Stalin/Lenin in houses. Ect

Besides the tanks, i would love to see the CDF equipment in. Maybe the insurgent stuff could be found in houses. But full-fledged tanks, no. My ideal would be the BrdM-2 (Hq) from arma. This had no turret, but a limited-traverse PKM above the passenger seat. As a further, nerf, make the tires weaker and the bullet-proof glass breakable. At most, a T-34 with no ammo for the main gun, but a coaxile DT and a hull-mounted DT. The drivers hatch should be missing and the turn speed of the turret should be low. Some technicals, like pickups with Dushka's or PKMs should definitely be in. What your all forgetting is once flares are in, we can make explosives with flares and gas canisters, so light armor wouldn't be to OP. -

I like it. It adds another thing to do in-game, and besides the traders/camps of them, its a pretty thought out idea. It won't make it into the official game though. -

I do it in the mod alot with to practice headshotting with Acogs. I've become a fairly solid 2-3 shot hit at 200m At one point after playing origins i could headshot zombies at 20m with a makarov. -

Not on Public hives or most server hosting companies. DayZ Priv is the only company i know allows you to do this. And anyway, only Epoch admins seem to do this for me. I rarely/never see them on legit servers. -
What maps would you want in the Standalone?

N, S, E, W, Chernarus needs to be in, so you can walk to the edge of the map and switch to a server running that map, and still have all your gear. If you go into West chernarus if you go west long enought you should end up in Eastern Takistan. Go north and you'll be in a part of Russia. As for basically anything in Britain, there would be no guns besides military, so i don't think it would work out. Maybe a map based in the Southern US, with a bunch of small towns. Lots of farms, forests, and guns.
