Seems to complicated when it takes 4+ rounds to kill someone. In chernarus, the only guns fire either common or military-surplus/issue ammo. Finding a 5.56 mold there would be extremely unlikely. Maybe if they add rarer guns and ammo, like .44, .30-30, ect. Although i doubt your going to find many of those in russia either.

Mine is O+ all the time. Never had anything else. I had fun telling a few bandits it was B+... to bad they shot me before i got to see them use it.
-
Chernarus WAS russia, though, not another country. But did you see FNXs and Pythons? I doubt it..
-
Hmm... Russian pigs sending it all to the US... Edit: how many nagants did you see, Vs how many modern .45 guns or .357 guns?
-
American gun enthusiasts? Most gub enthusiasts want older guns. Maybe read some older threads? Gun enthusiasts are not cod kiddies

Typo.. srry Really? As gews said, thats commercial ammo. To reload it it takes around 30 secounds, not that much more than any other revolver without speedloaders. For unloading, you can just have a spare cylinder. I do. This isn't that effective for reloading, but it works well if a shell gets jammed in. And so what? They're common, it doesn't matter if they're obsolete. It just forces players to search for another gun, or keep this becuase no magazines are needed. They are also pretty accurate, so it would have some use there. In DayZ, we don't need top-of-the-line pythons. A common-ish, accurate but slow to reload revolver would fit well into the game

7.62x51 ammo - Useless ammo?
thedogfoodyayho replied to thedogfoodyayho's topic in New Player Discussion
Zon my current life (started fresh after patch) i'm yet to fnd a mosin to use it with. Seems kinda odd though... it says x51 multiple times in the description. So its no typo -
Yeah ammo is pretty messed up.. Btw, it CAN fire .38 caliber, different types producing varying results.

And another thing. The conflict in Chernarus took place in 2009. Most of the fighting was between the Loyalist CDF (Chernarus Defence Force) backed by US Special forces (No regular formations were ever on the mainland, if i remember right) Vs the CDh-something insurgents. Later in the campaign the Russian army intervened (Idr why) and thet were equipped with AK-107s, PkPs, and Aks-74us, along with Makarovs. CDF And Insurgent weapons were usaully similar. Ak-74s, AKMs, PKMs, SVDs, Rpgs, AK-74s fitted with PSO optics, ect. Us Force Recon weapons were mainly highly custcomizee M4s with suppressors, Holographic sights, CCO sights, M203s, ect, and M21 DMRs. Just to clarify

This game takes place on Russia's border, near Takistan (Another bohemian-made country) and is nowhere near the Czech Republic. The apocalypse happened in 2016 or 17, becuase there are experation dates on cereal boxes. But seeing as the russian army has decided against the Ak-12, and i don't see Chernarus being rich enough to buy them, it makes no sense. Then again, neither does 3/5 of the guns ingame.

Clearing out the orange coat snipers from Elektro

I think i was there that day. There was some serious firefights going down, either way. -
I can't say i really dislike anything made before 1960... Anyone got anything else to add about this gun/reasons against it?
-
Its a 1950 russian SKS. I like to keep my guns in the original config becuase i'm more of a collector than shooter. The M59 is a Yugoslavian SKS with Grenade launcher. I know this guy who makes guns for movies. He also has 3 1919's... never seen them in action though.

No one else? Really?

I'm going to get another gun sometime this year. Probably a CZ52, a Mosin M44 or Type 53, or a a Semi-auto PPS-43. What i've got rn is a Nagant, Mosin, SKS, M59, Makarov and i sold my Tokarev :(
-
I'm thinking about buying a suppressor. where do you live? if its legal there, search here: http://www.armslist.com/ I got mine for $115
-
Also, if you voye for the Nagant, vote here to! http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/166647-nagant-m1895-poll/
-
Widh i could understand why people are voting no... Theres no really big reason why it shouldn't be added, while theres plenty of reasons it should.
-
Chernarus had a civil war a few years ago. Ok economy? I severely doubt it.
-
If its added and i find one before you, i'll let you have a look. You know, i nice, short look down the barrel..
-
US, Right? I've seen the same thing. The thing about chernarus is everyone is poor as shit. Most people simply can't afford a berreta, glock, abd especially not a Python. So your going to see more older or cheaper pistols and rifles. Mosins, TOZ rifles and shotguns, TTs, Makarovs and Nagants fall into this class. In addition, after the collapse of the soviet union, everything from Nuclear bombs to AKs were stolen from arsenals. Many of the firearms were sold to criminals. As you can see from the first pic theres tons of them lying around in warehouses, that are only now being sold as surplus. And Norris, in Gews pick that was an APS stock.

Heres all you need to know about Chernarus's history "The Kozub dynasty ruled until 1631, when Chernarus joined the Russian empire. After the revolution in 1917 Chernarus became an autonomic federal republic, after the demise of the USSR in 1991 it gained independence." - Arma 2 Official Website.
