I know. Look it up, theres over a dozen bikes. I also know this for a fact - me and my clan had 6 bikes at our base once. -
I have to say this wouldn't be a huge problem for me anymore. A months ago i literally could not play 1Pp becuase i got sick (In mod.) But i tried it in SA. With the small white dot i can actaully tell wherr i'm going, and the camera seems to be a bit further back into my towards my head. Then yesterday, i tried 3pp. I found it hard to control my character. So i'm pretty much exclusively playing 3pp now. Still, though, i Don't think it should be removed. Minecraft had a simple system that didn't allow you to look around or over stuff. That would work well in dayz. Plus, 1pp is still broken - like I'm looking through a little box.

This OP, i assume "Fireweapons" are Firearms (Guns?) I agree with backpacks being rarer, but i agree more with Bacon on guns.

Actaully each server had a minimum of 16 bikes, but a few days online brough that down to two that aren't dysfunction or hidden. They get the idea from 80% of servers being *800Vechs, M249 on spawn, 50 Helis, auto-refuel/auto-repair* Which the SA will NOT be like. At first, there will probably be around twenty bikes per server for testing, but i doubt they'll be on the coast. You'll still have to run to Cherno or even Zeleno to find one, especially since players will hoard them in the woods. -
Arma 2, which is what the map was created for. Chernarus was part of the Russian Empire and Soviet Union. I will send the Official chernarus page-thing link later, if i remember to.

Yup. Hackers can turn themselves invisible and you can still hear them walking. Happens to me fairly often.

You can't carry the mortar AND any amount of ammo. And good luck carrying a pack and gun. Its only practical with atleast 4 people to protect abd supply ammo to the tube.

There is already a great thread for weapons. If you want to make one, please make a Melee poll and add suggestions from the community to it, or for one or two guns you particularly want. We don't really need 98billion gun threads.

I'm not saying they aren't sniper rifles, they are not >True< sniper rifles. (M40, SV-98, ect) they are simply rifles converted into sniper's weapons.

Thats what every roleplay game is like. Take origins for example - everyone chose the soldier class, even though it gave not advantages. I've also seen very few who roleplay as civis on DayZ. I am a civi, so when i (Rarely) roleplay that's what i do. Also - Not every soldier knows how to use a tank, mortar, helicopter, rocket launcher, and use every gun in existence. Who on here actaully has used a mortar? Very few, i presume. Also dale - mortars can fire extremely quickly, basically as fast as you can throw shells in (Correct if i'm wrong. My relative who was a driver in one of those M113 Mortar carriers told me this) so you could effectively pound a base into pieces, fireing a dozen bombs in a minute. Thats a bit OP.

He did have a few fitting guns, like the CZ.52, although this isn't as common as Tokarevs, and the Stechkin, which is a fully automatic pistol. The SVD is in development to :) Edit: Claymores? Dude... useless in an apocalypse.

They aren't actaul sniper rifles. All they are battle rifles with scopes. So they aren't true Sniper rifles, as they weren't designed for that task. The SVD is always said to be a sniper rifle, but to the Soviets at that time "Snipers" were just infantry with scoped rifles engaging targets beyond the range of the SKS and AK. Indeed during WWII they issued scoped SVTs to best shots for "Sniping", though these weren't the type of "Snipers" that roamed Stalingrad that propaganda said they were. so that is why it has "Sniper" in its name. That doesn't make it "Sniper's rifle" as i'm sure you know the difference Between a Sniper and a DM. And yeah, it's perfectly suited for use by real snipers and often is, even if at shorter ranges than weapons designed for that role.

M107 was the M82 back in those days. A G36 isn't a G3. It doesn't matter if its based off one. Deagles were just the base models back then. There wasn't "long slide" types like there are now.

Gibonez - The mosin isn't shit. Do you actaully own one? I have both the 91/30 and m44, both of which are pinpoint accurate at 400m and 300m respectively. on a Human-sized target. I can hit 5/5 on the upper body, no prob. With my friend's scope rifle, i can hit up to 600m. Admittedly, they both all have original parts, but i have never seen a Russian one with mixed parts. With surplus ammo i do get alot less accuracy, though. Sure, some are shit. But have any of these "Tests" taken 20 rifles and tested them all? But anyway, back in their day Mosins more than proved themselves. That was when they were brand new, firing higher-quality ammo. 37million were made. If they were such shit, then why the fuck wouldn't the Ruusians have switched to Mausers? They weren't that much more expensive. For a rifle that can be well over 70 years old and a design that originated 130 years ago,, their modern performance is what you would expect. Svd is shit? *Cough It isn't a fucking sniper rifle. The mosin isn't a sniper rifle. There are no sniper rifles ingame. The mosin is a battle rifle. Becuase there were never any sniper rifles used by the Soviet Union. The purpose of the Scoped mosin post-war was to increase the effective range of the infantry squad to 600m, which the Mosin did well, but the Dragunov could do better. During the war, to, Soviet "Snipers" usaully engaged targets at only a few hundered meters.

Mod support was confirmed a long time ago. As to those who say mods "Ruined" the mod - the original mod would have died out long ago if Epoch and Origins hadn't been there. But for god sake - do not add Epoch carebear shit like locked cars, invincible safes, nearly invincible wood walls, and traders. -
How about something like the RG-6 grenade launcher? It fires the same grenades as the GP-25 from a 6-round Cylinder. Less OP than a mortar. If mortars are added, (Which i really don't think they should be) a 2B14 82mm should be the one. But really - even an AT gun would be a better option.

Dude... WTF... half those guns didn't even exist in 1982 and only two are used by the US. Story sounds like extreme BS, which is what i assume it is. Want kind of embassy has M107s?

There would be SOME western weapons, like the M1911, 92f, G3, FAL, various hunting rifkes and a few M240s, M4A1s and M16A4s in Chernarus. But yeah, the Majority would be AKM, SKS, SVD, PKM, PPS-43, M91/30, Makarov, TT, Nagant, ect. But i hope your not one of tge people who ONLY want eastern weapons. There isn't a magic western weapon barrier, although they are less common than Communist-Era weapons.

*Average cod age is 9 Yeah, your mortar effectiveness thingy is pretty a accurate. But the problem is, Arma uses a "Targeting Computer" in which it shows a map and you click where you want the shell to land. So the crew would usaully set up in some forest and lob shells into a base without being detectable Even if they add an ACE type system, i still don't think this should be added, becuase it would be to much work for something that would only be used for trolling, base raids and base defence. I mean really, mortar or Sniper rifle for counter-sniping? Plus, who has ever heard of a mortar being stored under some guy's bunk?

Yu can't lug around a mortar and ammo alone. it takes 2-3 people.
