    why good samiritans irritate me

Sorry, thats hard to detect on internet forums. Well said. A prime example of previous experiences evolving a human into something that, from a distant observer, could be describes as "evil" is Beth Thomas. Here is an interesting, sad documentary of her. A Rape victim who repeatedly threatened to kill her parents and assaulted her half-brother. Nobody is able to judge someone with a past as horrible as hers. (Luckily, she recovered and evolved into a mentally stable person) But i still think there are pretty evil humans out there who have no legitimate right to behave like that, and should not have to right to call themselves "human beings". Their negative charasteristics (not counting in experience) just outweigh everything. Now Bye.

When the person youre a having an argument with never once responds to your arguments, but tries to deflect with tiny details, you know you should stop wasting your time in this thread.

    why good samiritans irritate me

There are people who act under truly altrusitic motives. But close minded people identify any behavior as selfish "He committed suicide because he hated himself? What a coward, he took the easy way out. " "He is eating enough for himself to survive? What a selfish prick! He should give all his food to poor african children! Not just 90 percent!" "He is giving all his food to african children? He is just doing to feel appreciated! What an asshole! I will shoot him in the face because now I feel worthless!" "He tells me he feeds African children without the bare intention to feel appreciated? He is just telling me this to feel appreciated! What an asshole!" This enables them to do bad things while still feeling good about themselves.

You know, there are not only players who do helpful things to feel appreciated. There are also people who just want to help, and do not care about their ego. If you dont want anything, just say "No". Dont assault them like a spineless maggot. You risk killing a genuinely nice player. Making Humanity even more shitty.

So, a guy offers you gear, and you respond with extreme violence? You c*nt. Stupid people like you feel insulted in their ego and all butthurt because they are "patronized" instead of just appreciating kindness.

The bullet that broke the bambi's back

people confuse vulnerability with just being nice in every part of life. Some take advantage of that and boost their self confidence through you. You can just go on with your behavior and not give a shit about their misplaced opinion of you, or you can go berserk and make their disgraceful maggot lives as shitty as they deserve (recommended for mental health). Just evaluate deliberately who needs punishment and who doesnt, or else you are no better than them. translated into DayZ: You want to help people? Why? F*ck them. Humanity is bad. You dont have to abolish the good part of your spirit, but dont put yourself in danger for others. You have been taken for a fool multiple times. If you encounter a player, take a look at his characteristics. Is he one of those assholes that would have taken advantage of you before? Stab him in the back. Is he just a normal human being? Split paths.

    Weird Mouse movement DayZ standalone.

i have got the exact same problem and i think most people dont realize it, or they dont have it. i made a big thread about it, constituting in great detail why mouse movement is so shitty. But responses made me think that like only half of the people experience this issue. someone made a video of himself turning in Arma 2 and told me that it was like that, for him, in Dayz aswell. I compared his time to make a 360° turn and mine, and the results are weird. Here. The first in this vid is the other guy, the last is me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI2WPHaLEMM

you know what else makes it a challenge to aim? being paraplegic. They should implement that!

Raw Mouse Input Is Crucial To Immersion

No it`s not pretty fucking good when you get used to. Its still unrealistic and clunky, but if you eat a disgusting meal over and over again, you may come to like it a bit. Yes it is good enough for military training to show the players how group operations, mostly on large terrain, should be executed tactically. In Arma, the player agility is limited a lot (which is a good idea, but in its extent incredibly unrealistic), to make him feel very dependent on his group. Thats the emotion they try to trigger in their soldiers. Arma`s mouse movement system fits for this very purpose, but not for DayZ. In DayZ, you may need to work alone. And in this case, you should be allowed to have the intuitional agility you would have in real life. The mouse movement BIS brought forward is anything BUT imitating real movement. They tried to countersteer the trend of CoD-like movement, and they overshot it to ridiculous extent. It got even less realistic than those games, if you really inspect it, like i did in my thread.

Raw 1:1 input, as the OP describes it, does not necessarily mean that 360 no scopes will be possible, due to a widening of crosshair (if i understood that correctly) If its somehow like my suggestion, watch this video for clarification (from 0:25 onwards): Just look at the crosshair (cyan dot). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxOJLI3h6DE

or draw pictures like i did in my thread. it was seriously kind of hard for me to understand most of your posts, OP. I couldnt make out what your technical terms meant, because they mostly were very vague. Just saying, my first thread on this matter was a huge mess aswell.
  18. rephrased my suggestion and added a video demonstrating it.

Adjust your head for a better experience.

There is the problem. With the current movement in DayZ, we do not have a compromise. Almost every freedom of mouse movement is taken from the player, and everything focuses on these "tactical situations". Keep in mind, this is not a military operations simulator we are talking about here, but a zombie apocalypse simulator. That means the probabilty of having to work alone is raised a lot. Making friends in such a dangerous environment is not an easy task. And if im working alone, there is not THAT much of tactical operations i, myself, can do. That means, the logical conclusion would be, to give the player some of his movement freedom back. If i scavenge a house and there is someone hiding in a corner, im fucked, because my mouse movement only clunkily and partly gets translated into ingame movement. Gameplay in DayZ should neither be built ENTIRELY on muscle skill nor ENTIRELY on tactical skill, but a compromise. After all, this is how things are in real life.

Raw Mouse Input Is Crucial To Immersion

EXACTLY what i was thinking. The problem lies within the animations, tho. It probably won`t be possible for the devs to get head and arm movement done working simultaneously...

No that advantage does not completely go away, due to the element of surprise. If you see him spin around, shoot him, if you refuse, its your own fault. And i also dont think that realism should suffer because of gameplay-reasons like the one you describe. It has so many negative side-effects.

Raw Mouse Input Is Crucial To Immersion

Yes. I actually did that. Those circumstances affect your movement. But they do not affect your movement as much as they do in Dayz. This restriction actually makes it way harder to move, feels more clunky, and IS more unrealistic than raw input for a reason/goal that was not achieved. While in raw input games you play like a super-strong ballerina on extasy, in DayZ you play as a physically impaired fat retard. I think so too.

I know. I dont think the devs will ever adapt 1:1 input, tho. Its just too convenient for a game like DayZ. The devs try to go as far away as possible from Cod etc. The solution i wrote is more of a compromise.
