I'd rather miss out on 10 kills & miss out on all the best gear in the game 50 times because of DCs than die once due to a server fart disconnecting me at the wrong time. If a guy DCs on you because you're about to kill him, you lose nothing. It's frustrating, yes, but you lose nothing. While the DC issue is a big one that needs some sort of fix I don't like the idea of punishing the innocent even if the guilty are punished 100 times more.

I think he means the original spawn. When 2 players first start it would remove some of the tedium to not have to run so much to meet your also-newly-spawned buddy on the coast. Since there is no real challenge in the "meet up" phase of the game I see no downside to it. No way to exploit it to retrieve your corpse.

We need more meters and gauges. I propose a Sock Stench level. Also the well known Skidmarks & Crustiness gauge. The first would attract zombies from further away while the other would distract your aim when the itch becomes unbearable.

There's a stickied thread that says this is a bannable exploit but will not be investigated unless you get the name of the player. I guess at some point in the past there used to be a log of that showing who killed who? Not the case right now though. The debug forest bug is common right now, Canada 2 is the only known server to fix it, and is permanently camped. Could a dev try and explain if it's even worth reporting this? Can / will the dev team do anything about it? If there's nothing to be done I'm pretty sure it's OK. It's Alpha, you guys have limited time/resources etc... Just let us know. Update that sticky (http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=8302) maybe. Everyone's kind of in the dark right now and the abusers seem to be getting a pass.

So it saves blood level when you lose blood, not when you gain blood. That narrows it down for the devs I hope. -

Will that just prevent the issue or actually fix it? Once you spawn in the debug plains you are screwed as far as I know. There is no way to run out of them (you are 600km south east of the ocean) due to food consumption. You just die and respawn in the wilderness again, 600km from anything. Can't suicide/respawn either. Reinstalling doesn't help. Anyone had any luck by installing old versions of the beta patch maybe? That's the only thing I have not tried yet. -
Constantly spawning in debug plains after 1.7.1.2!

Same that happens sometimes too these "hotfixes" are just breaking it more. Just happened to me on 1.7.1.5 - i spawn in that debug plain (GPS coords is roughly 820 // 890 - about 600km South East of the coast I think?). Lots of "players" there although only some of them move around. Changing servers does not help. Suiciding does not help. Any advice on how to fix it? edit - also tried running out of the field to coords 999//999 but I'm right back to there when i log out/back in. Am I stuck there until it gets patched or is there anything else I can try. -
Few questions - I believe I read somewhere that items/loot piles will disappear around the location you spawn in. 1)Is that true? 2)Is that in on all servers? It seems to be hit or miss when I play. 3)Does it make the loot disappear even when other players are already around? I seem to run into a lot of area without loot. I know loot is rare but when you do a whole airfield or the military camp without even a pile of empty cans, it doesn't seem right. 4)How long, roughly, do items take to respawn? If I get into a town with no loot, is it worth sticking around for a few minutes? 5)Is it not possible to make loot piles un-lootable to players that spawn near them, instead of making them disappear for everyone? Anytime I log out I seem to lose the blood I regained from food. The food does not come back though. Is that a bug or a feature? Any way to avoid it? Anyone else experiencing it?

I believe Zs have a very high chance to aim for AND a high chance to break your legs when you are below 9000 blood. I read that... somewhere. 1.7.2's patch notes mention this will be fixed/reduced. Right now it is really too high. Most people don't even know about it and therefore unknowingly stay below the 9k threshold.

Why is anyone wasting time on freaking bear traps or fog/rain effects on noise cancellation while threads like this go unnoticed? Why isn't there more discussions on how to improve the actual gameplay? This thread should be bursting with ideas on how to make mid- to end-game more interesting. More motivation to go hunting Zs. More need to refill your water/food supplies regularly. Maybe more utility items, important beyond or in ways that are unrelated to fire power? Maybe some stronger, clearer consequences to play with or again players rather than the clear cut decision to avoid player contact until you are bored out of your mind? Anything to make you ask yourself, when you are near a town "do I take the risk and go in or do I just keep doing my deer stands circuit?". Right now there isn't even a question.

1.7.1.5 Server and client Do not recall server =/ In Pogorevka I died. My buddy had a tent and pitched it right next to my body. He took my gear and saved it in the tent. There was a lot of gear switching since his bags were full and so was mine. I came back to the tent, got my gear back including my GPS. We took off and my buddy asks me if I want my GPS back. The GPS, and we later realized my 5 STANAG magazines, got duplicated in the process. I don't know how it happened exactly, which is why I didn't create a new thread. But there is definitely still a way to duplicate items with tents. Will post back if I figure it out. -
Hi! I have a basic/noob question. Do the rare items (namely NVG, DMR, Range finder, although there must be others) appear in Deer Stands? I know you should find them in military areas. Which means air strips, the one military base in Starry, or (I guess?) deer stands. I am actually trying to figure out if there is any use into going to the airfields which are always very much camped by PKs. I don't mind the challenge, but if Deer Stands can have the rare items, why bother? I hope someone tells me there is a reason for me to take the risk. Thanks !
