DayZ Development progress makes no sense
RAM-bo4250 replied to Doomlord52's topic in General Discussion
Parazight, sorry for the confusion if this wasn't directed at me. I was referring to the fact that Doomlord asked why isn't there a bug tracker like in the 3 games he mentioned. If it wasn't directed at me I'm sorry. I think Doomlord spiked my drink. -
Why, are you in the dark?

I can't stop thinking about what Doomlord posted. Somebody please rescue me from this alter universe I am in. I don't mind looking a little dumb on this or not comprehending but am I reading it right on the question about a bug tracker asked by Doomlord? I'm an adult. Tell me. I don't see it. I'm willing to have egg on my face. -

Am I being punked? Seriously. You mean the bug tracker that is currently available? That looks exactly like at least the ARMA 3 bug tracker? Where's the cameras? I am not going to post the location of the bug tracker because I would think a business owner who makes $200,000.00 a year would be smart enough to locate it on their own. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Now I'm not so sure. Is this for real? Did I post a bug report in a non-existent bug tracker? Perhaps in another dimension? This is too much. -

Really? You really think that I meant in this situation. Writing some crap on a game forum, really. This is getting exasperating. -

Was it Wonder Woman zombie. Maybe she went invisible? Or a Klingon zombie that cloaked? -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

That is a pretty cynical look on life. There is a slight possibility some low life companies may do that but I don't think the big reputable ones would do it. To much to lose if the big secret gets out. I am never a one for conspiracy theories as it is pretty tough to keep everyone in line with the lie. As Snowden has shown. It may be money related however. They may try and find the cheapest solution to the problem. Don't underestimate the hackers either. There are some pretty smart fackers out there. -
Ok. Can they please either reduce armor from clothing.... Or

From the looks of it the press vest is Kevlar like what the police use. Funny, those types of vests do absolutely nothing for high powered rifle rounds. They are designed for low sub rounds such as pistols and such. I really havn't seen in game the heavy military vests. They are heavy bastards and would cut down your stamina a lot. They do have the design to stop high powered rounds as seen on Live Leak. In a game, especially, an unfinished game, there will be silly balancing issues. In the end I'm sure there will be a happy compromise (hopeful). -
You forgot one, mine. Alpha building a frying pan. You know what I find amusing Chain. The analogy was brought up by Awruk, furthered along by Scriptfactory, and then wait, Scriptfactory gives you his beans for your post. When somebody puts forward an analogy and I respond to it using it to further their frame of reference, what am I supposed to do? Shout them down and say only mine is legit? Words are ideas? If it helps their understanding to use whatever analogy they want (as long as it fits), that's fine with me. Some people are slower than others to grasp concepts. Which one of these will you choose to be? stupid [stoo-pid, styoo‐] Spell Syllableadjective, stupider, stupidest.1.lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.2.characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish;senseless:a stupid question.3.tediously dull, especially due to lack of meaning or sense; inane;pointless:a stupid party.4.annoying or irritating; troublesome:Turn off that stupid radio. ignorant [ig-ner-uh nt] Spell Syllables adjective1.lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned:an ignorant man.2.lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact:ignorant of quantum physics.3.uninformed; unaware.4.due to or showing lack of knowledge or training:an ignorant statement.

The biggest problem with hackers and those that don't say anything to them or about them is that I feel they totally think there's nothing wrong with it. I bet most feel, hell, everybody else is doing it I might as well too. Also for the fact that they paid for it so they feel entitled to use it. From the several threads lately they almost seem surprised over being banned for it. There are also those who use duped items and such. That is cheating also. However, imho, they are down the hierarchy of offenses since they are game generated. Still cheating though. You find such items, don't play with them. All these issues will eventually be dealt with so right now it's all about self responsibility and self policing. What a concept when we live in a world where it is always somebody elses fault. -

Dale, first, thank you for your service. How do you know the devs are implementing the elements of the game in a haphazard erratic fashion? Companies don't behave like military companies. Military companies do not research and development. They test. Does each and every soldier know the details of what is being developed as far as say an AFV being developed. My argument may be a little flawed here as I don't know exactly what they do tell you. From what I have read, the Bradley had a lot of misconceptions and problems associated with development and deployment but the individual didn't really know of any deficiencies in it's development and deployment until said deployment and testing phase. Again my argument may be flawed. We are in a time when most of what is being done now, was done in secret. All I'm trying to say is we can not really make an informed and educated decision of how things are proceeding because it's all new procedures. We were allowed into a period of development that historically was done in secret and by a select few. From what I've read Dayz is basically being built from the ground up borrowing concepts etc from the mod. Do you know the developer, Battlefront? I'm sure you're at least aware being a soldier, maybe. They make the Combat Mission titles. From the end of CMx1, the first inception of their homebuilt engine, to CMx2 titles, took I believe, approximately 10 years to develop their new engine. Scope I know is way different. I think they have a company of 5+ (unk for sure but tiny). Just explain to me, in just after maybe 9 months (give or take), anyone can make a judgement of haphazard, erratic fashion? It may be true. I don't know. No experience whatsoever (0) with making games. But neither do you. Bottom line. We all have to wait until it is finished to see if it's a good thing. And kicking the mule isn't going to get it to move. -

This is a perfect example of an utterly ignorant and obviously false statement. And GhostDivision, you signed off on it. Before you lay down such a harsh judgement as "scam" you better have a whole lot of evidence to back it up. This isn't just a criticism. It is impugning the integrity of a major software developer as well as their employees. If it actually led to loss of revenue and could be proved you would be opening yourself up to a libel suit. And because of this outrageous, contemptuous accusation anything you say now or later will fall on deaf ears. Unless of course you have enough stones to realize your error and come clean. Even if said in anger or frustration it was uncalled for and an apology would be in order. If not.... -

Next, you'll be asking for BI to make their books available so that we can be sure where every penny is going so those complaining about being ripped off will know that hey, "I'm not being ripped off." This request is a little over the top. A weekly blog with team leaders telling of their work and where they are heading is not enough for you? They are leaning over backwards to allay people's fears and expectations. Doomlord, one of these days you are going to have to look yourself in the mirror and say, I am being impatient. Kicking the mule isn't going to make it move. -
Have you even read the posts and threads on this forum? There's practically a new thread everyday of players raging over hackers. I'm not assuming anything. It ruins the playing experience of many. If hackers want to come clean, give up their cheating, and like men, apologize they are welcome. Otherwise, stay out of my game and out of my forum. And don't have the audacity to come here looking for help without such humbling. Statik wrote a whole new paragraph that the OP didn't even write. All cheating in any form ruins the gaming experience of many.
-
No, but a little accountability goes a long way.
-
Daft comment again. I certainly did not read any attempt at an apology. That's what people do when they are generally sorry for an offense. Don't write text that wasn't there.
-
I expect to get beat up a little if I say something daft. Did I curse him, break his kneecap, steal his beans?

This brings to mind an episode of "How I met your mother" where Robin takes Marshall to a canadian bar in NYC. She purposely bumps into a guy spilling some of his drink. The guy, a Canadian, turns around and apologizes to Robin for being in her way. Hilarious. Stereotypes, go figure.

You act like we're crucifying him for crying out loud. He's getting his stones crushed a little. OMG, the horror. Let him go to the website he bought the hack from and ask them.
-
Need them to protect my gun barrel. ;)

Are you fricking kidding me Statik. This ain't some poor sclub that experienced a bug. He's a hacker that has ruined the gaming experience of many. He has the nerve of coming here looking for support? It's a small punishment but let him find the answers on his own. Why don't I help a burglar by giving him my house key. (Exaggeration for effect)
