So this is a tough one. I haven't played Dayz in awhile but it had been working 100% normally until the .60 update. Now every time i launch DayZ i am faced with 2 error codes.
Error #1
ERROR: Device error: Cant set resolution
this is shortly followed by
Error #2
The instruction at 0x0000000000DE7C56 refrenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be written. Click on OK to terminate the program
I have done many things to try and solve the problem but none have worked:
- Verifying the game cache
- Deleting DayZ.cfg
- Uninstalling DayZ
- Updating my graphics driver (I actually did have an update but updating it didn't solve the problem)
- Removing launch options
- Upgrading to Windows 10
- Restarting Steam
- Restarting my Computer
The only other thing that apparently had worked for someone was going into the DayZ.cfg and changing the settings to windowed mode. When i attempted to do this, my notepad++ had brought up a box saying "This file has been modified by another program. Do you want to reload it?" I clicked Yes and it deleted most of the lines in the CFG file. Now the only lines that remain are:
language="English";
adapter=-3;
3D_Performance=1500000;
Resolution_Bpp=32;
I have tried deleting the cfg file to restore the default lines of code but these are the only ones that appear when the file is created. Even reinstalling Dayz did not restore the lines of code.
If someone could help me that would be great!
