    Global Ban a Big Success

Them not getting another copy of ARMA2 will make me very sad indeed. I will make sure to miss them a lot in the next few months.
  2. I'd love to help you out, but I can't. This is something the server host will have to investigate. The DayZ team cannot investigate this as we don't have any control over the local server. You need to talk to the server host, or choose another server to play on. Edit: To clarify, if there is a problem with the server, the server host will need to look into it. We cannot do it. If it's a bug, it most likely resides within the ARMA2 server code. We don't control the ARMA2 server code, and cannot help you with that. -- Pallidum DayZ Server Team

    Reserving slots

Hi, this is answered in the Server Hosting FAQ. No, it's not allowed to reserve slots at the moment, as ARMA2 does not provide this functionality. It MIGHT be allowed in the future if such functionality is added to ARMA2, but no promises. -- Pallidum DayZ Server Team
  4. If your friend has indeed been banned wrongly, I wish him the best of luck, but in most cases when a "friend" has been banned, it has been proven that the "friend" was in fact banned legitimately and usually lying about it. The way many anti-cheat systems work is by matching the signatures of known hacks and cheats. You cannot get such a signature from "looting a weapon", you have to have the hack or cheat in question to be flagged. I don't know for sure, but I assume this is why there are no false positives in this round of banning. Anyone found to be banned is legitimately banned.

    Overlay ban

Actually, yes. The DayZ team has a lot more time available now that there isn't as many cheaters and hackers around. Thanks for asking. :)
  6. I've read the entire thread, yes. I'm also on the DayZ server team. There are three types of bans. Global (BattleEye). We cannot do anything about these, as they are administered by BattleEye, not DayZ. Database (DayZ). These bans are administered by us. Local (Server Hosters). These bans are administered by the server hosters, not the DayZ team. As you're able to login to other servers, it's neither a global ban or a database level ban. It's a local ban. As such, we cannot help you as we don't administer the individual servers. I cannot help you. Rocket cannot help you. The only one who can help you is the server hoster. If the server hoster needs help to troubleshoot this, they should turn to the server hoster community. They should be able to help out. The DayZ team, however, cannot as we have no control over local bans. -- Pallidum DayZ Server Team

    Own fault... :'(

You should be able to, yes. Also, kudos for owning up and taking it like a man.
  8. The DayZ server administrators don't control all the servers. The majority of the servers are administered by the server hosts, with little if any interaction from the DayZ team. What we do is coordinate the servers and maintain the central database. As it appears to be a local ban, the DayZ team cannot do anything about it, unless you can prove that this ban was created by an abusive admin. If that's the case, we'll need some very solid evidence to the effect. To reitereate, the DayZ team does not have any control over local bans on the servers. You'll have to contact the server host of NY25 to resolve your issue.
  9. YES But this also needs addition of other means of survival to be effective. Some sort of melee weapon, or simply a means of knocking down/away zombies and/or bandits would make this work a lot better.

This is an awesome gesture, although I fear you may have a hard time finding your attacker. :)

    Do the Dev's Ever Respond?

We're doing our best to work through the backlog of server requests, but there's still a lot of work to do. Please be patient in the meantime. :)

Kicking of Players for Clan members

DaMonkey, that'd split the resources of the devs. The devs would now have to code to both support a centralized database and a local database. Any bugs would have to be verified in both code branches, in case the bug report is specific to only one branch etc. Essentially, you'd give the devs a lot more work for something that gives little benefit, and actually takes away from what they want to do. No disrespect intended, but if someone wants a local DayZ equivalent, there's nothing stopping them from coding it up themselves. That's the beauty about mods. Everyone can make their own. Don't expect a single dev to code it the way YOU want, when you can do it yourself.

    So ... I found a MLRS.

This is NOT a valid vehicle. It is spawned in by a hacker. Get out of that vehicle immediately and contact the server administrator or DayZ staff, please.
  15. First of all, 500-700 zombies on a 50 man server would mean 10-14 zombies per person, on average. Secondly, the zombie spawn rate was MUCH higher a few patches ago. People were complaining profusely about this, so the spawn rate was dialed down. Thirdly, zombies spawn based on player locations. IE, if there's no one near Stary Sobor, there will be no zombies spawning there. As players get more organized and move in groups more, the players will be less spread out, with higher concentrations of players in any given location, but fewer locations with players in. This means that there will be fewer locations for the zombies to spawn in, which results in fewer zombies on the server. Also, this game is about survival. That's the only stated goal with this game. There's no stated goal saying that you should kill players or kill zombies. Your only stated goal is to survive. Anything beyond surviving is up to you.

    Forum discussions lately

Someone, I don't remember who, once uttered a wise statement that paraphrased goes something like this: "If the other team is complaining about what you do, you're doing something right." Basically, there's been (last count) 1,344,133 player deaths. Out of these, 346,265 (or 25.8%) have been to other players. 220,680 (or 16.4%) of the player deaths have been murders (as opposed to bandit kills). Out of 101,407 alive characters, 12,857 (or 12.7%) are bandits. The only conclusions I can draw is that zombies are much better at killing survivors than bandits are, and that the huge majority of the players are nice people who ask first and shoot later. Rant from a Bandit

Hi, I'm Pallidum Treponema. I'm a volunteer for a no-kill animal shelter, and a frequent donator to several charities. I'm former army, having volunteered because I wanted to serve my country and help others. I've proudly served for humanitarian causes twice, volunteering both times. I'm about as honest and loyal a friend that you can find, and I've been accused of being overly generous to those in need. I live a pretty successful life, being happily married, currently enjoying a lot of gaming after having started, built up and sold off three separate companies. In-game, I'm a bandit. I will kill, steal and lie whenever I need to, or whenever I feel like it. If you are not part of my team, I will have no qualms whatsoever about luring you to your doom, blowing your brains out and dancing on your corpse. I will post on the forums gloating about how I'm better than you, then I'll drink your tears as you get butthurt over it. The reason for why I'm doing this is because I know there's a difference between game-me and RL-me. RL me is a nice guy. Game-me is not. It's actually quite liberating to be able to roleplay someone in-game (and, to some extent, on the forums) who does not reflect who I am in RL. And that's why I'm a bandit.
  19. The reward for PKing just went up. I now can make people REALLY cry about getting killed. No, I don't think this is a solution. You just made it a lot harder for the disorganized to survive, whereas organized PKers (and survivors) will have it a lot easier. I'd LOVE more dangerous zombies. That'd be awesome, to be honest. Both for survivors and for bandits. Right now the only real challenge in the game is other players. Zeds are a challenge only if I let them be one (or get forced into making them a challenge). Yes' date=' please. Note however that this makes it harder for non-organized survivors. Organized survivors and bandits will be mostly unaffected. OH GOD YES!!! :D
