Yeah. Sorry you didn't get added from your earlier post (sometimes people slip through the cracks). Added to the Google Doc (now please edit your availability :)). What's your TS3 name and job preference?

Hi Publik, sorry I couldn't be there. I'm seeing some happy customers, though, so hopefully the next run will be a bit better off for lessons learned in this one and produce even more happy customers. I must argue against this image, though. First of all, the white cross on red heavily implies a purely medical purpose. Dr. Wasteland would probably be better served with that than us. Perhaps a white cross on black, ala the Hospitallers?

My guess is' date=' as long as you aren't and haven't shown any hostile actions against the trading post then they will trade with you just like anyone else. [/quote'] That. If you follow our rules we'll let you in. It's possible that we could have a tent at the front where anyone with really low humanity (detected via heartbeat) might have to leave their weapons at the door, though that's been discussed as a ground rule for everyone. Depends on how everything goes. I wouldn't be a huge fan of having to leave my weapons in tents before entry: 1. What if I want to trade a weapon? 2. If all hell breaks loose, I will have no way to help or defend myself. Quite frankly, if you're humanity is low enough that we ask you to check you're weapon at the gate, then we suspect that you would be the primary instigator of hell breaking loose. If you want to trade, I'm sure one of the guards could fetch it for you and hold it in escrow. It's still just a thought, though. Even if you have nothing to do with an external attack (which you, the customer, are not supposed to actively defend yourself from anyway), that bandit who we let in with his gun starting to fire inside the camp might be mildly distracting.

Would you care to join, Br1mley?

One of the points of the location' date=' is that it's quite difficult to get a raised position to overlook the area with a sniper rifle. [/quote'] Also, who said that we aren't doing that? *Evil grin*

You're still quite welcome to be a part of this' date=' Victor. We wouldn't have done it without your thread, and we could use your experience, especially in these early days. [hr']

Everyone, remember to edit your own details after we've put you in the roster.

Technically, he hasn't "gone looking" for a fight, he is simply staying in place and inviting one to come to him. Still not exactly wise, though.

As I have said in the past, banditry is part of the experience, and we would be surprised if we didn't have to deal with it. The only thing I really don't want to see is out and out griefing and people false-facing. I understand that betrayal is inevitable, but I would prefer that bandits hold off a week or two before they start trying to infiltrate us. Consider that the project being scuttled 5 minutes in will mean the destruction of the survivors vs zombies vs bandits environment we are trying to facilitate and relatively small gain for our killers. Alternatively, bandits and survivors alike could have a rip-roaring good time defending and attacking an established trading post for weeks and months to come, with more loot for bandits whenever they win. Both in terms of enjoying the game and in terms of loot, I think that it is in the interest of the bandit community to sit back for a minute and see what happens.

While we honor your martyrdom' date=' details please.

Maximus and Shylan, you've been added. General Note: I'll be out of town/mostly computer-less this weekend, so if you have to pick someone to PM, it probably shouldn't be me.

Okay, sorry for the delay, here is the official recruitment announcment: We are now recruiting for Freeside Trading Co. If you are interested, please post the following information, in order: Steam Name, TS3 Name, In-Game Name, Forum Name (for ease of use),Timezone (UTC+-X). EDIT: You can also PM the details to Vulwulf, Publik, or me if you don't want to post them here. Also, please list which of the following roles you would like to fill: Organization, Mercenary, Gatherer, Guard, Pilot. This will all be going into this Google Doc. As soon as your name has been added to the roster, feel free to edit your row in the Availability and Preference sheets. Please don't be an evil troll, btw. :\

We could give out a "weapons free" order if it comes down to it, I suppose. We would just have to be sure to coordinate it over TS3 within the group of guards before announcing it over Direct, so as not to make trolling too easy. The best course may be to have the "weapons free" order be given out only in text chat by a specific individual who identifies himself accurately as a guard beforehand, so that the guards and civvies can double check his name. Direct for customers, TS3 for members of the company, as Publik intimated in his "Operating Procedures for Customers" section. Keeping the company on TS3 at all times will help to make sure that guards are always communicating and communicating with the right people.

Nice work Publik. Very pretty formatting. I eagerly await the completion of the "Employee" section. One note on the "Hostile Actions" section, though: "Entry or exit from an unauthorized area (we'll assume that you're up to no good)." Also, we probably want to make our willingness to store violators' goods conditional on the provocation which caused us to open fire--Ghosting in with a can of beans is different from ghosting in with a grenade in hand. I think he's working on the "Employee" section to tell you just that. :)

Steam group it up and we'll see you on the field. We might well have a use for ones such as you... Be sure to have one of you drop by the TS3, or at least check out the new-and-improved announcement thread later today. -

General message to the friendly neighborhood bandits: While you may be somewhat tempted to scuttle our trading post before it can begin properly, imagine how much more fun and profitable it would be to try to raid an up-and-running outpost a few days down the line, creating a real "settlers versus bandits" environment, instead of you guys essentially griefing a clumsy start-up. Food for thought, at least.
