I never experienced it until 1.7.2, but I've started finding infected spawned inside the bases of deer stands. Easy kills, since they can't move, but still a bit annoying. I've not noticed too much of a change in behavior between the versions, otherwise. I guess that a single random infected, running across 1km of open field/hill, really isn't that bad. It'll increase situational awareness if nothing else, right? FWIW, I saw a report that in the experimental 1.7.2.1 version, there were over 1,300 infected on the server at once. We may need to get Akimbo Axes! -
At which point the OP never returns to this thread, changes his player-name and continues to douche it up.

I just walk around like normal and, when an infected agros at me, I line up the shot and hit him in the face with my hatchet. No building exploit, no noise, just a soft 'thump' and continue. -

Just go into the hills around Cherno and live off snipers. They will be looking the other way; just sneak up real quietly, open their ALICE packs, take out whatever gun is inside, and kill them with it. -

Try heading North East to Berezino. Same loot as Cherno/Electro, but fewer players. Or, as already suggested, just avoid the big seathbox cities all together. -
I find that losing aggro'd zeds is really easy once you stop worrying about them. I've even gotten decent at breaking LoS without the need to dash through a building. Fences and walls are all you need. And a hatchet is worth it's weight in gold.

He has made some pretty drastic changes. There was the "No food spawning" patch, the "Zombies with NVG/IR/ESP" patch, the "Now you start with no guns, lol" patch (I really liked that one-- no sarcasm intended), the "addition of wire everygoddamnedwhere" patch... the list goes on. I would like to see some more frequent wipes of character however. I understand that really rare items would receive less testing that way, but with the prevalence of scripting/duping it'll be no time until everyone is back to flying Helos, rocking NVG's, and sniping with uber rare guns. -
There is an ATV on top of the hill NE of Electro on Atlanta 42. Needs gas. It is also not being watched, I'm sure of that.

I am unsure how I feel about the new zeds. I was in a town with a buddy and purposefully agro'd a hoard of them. I was fine, but My buddy got swarmed (by more zeds than I've ever seen in one place) and eaten. It happened so fast too. He was there and 5 seconds later he was gone. Tonight I plan to run through Electro with a flare in my hand to see what all the fuss is about. Bandits, if you see an idiot running through Electro with a flare in his hand, maybe shooting a 1911 in the sky and yelling on his mic, please don't shot him. It'll just be me testing zombie reactions. Shoot all the kids who come out to see what the fuss is about instead. They'll actually have gear on them. :D

So the new forum is nice and all, but is it possible to have the white theme back? The red on black is tough on my eyes and a real PITA to read on a cell phone. I'll acknowledge that it may still exist, I just haven't found it yet.

Seem fine to me. I killed 30+ with a hatchet. They ate my buddy, but I ain't sceerd. Zombies are different now. You learned them once, adapt.

I was just playing with a buddy. We pulled a hoard in and I was figuring it would be like any other day. For me it was. Scott was swarmed and eaten, right in front of me, in under 15 seconds. Wow.

No one said it'd be easy to change the world ;) But we have need for more than just medics. You can help out without ever having to interact with random survivors. Hell, we even need people who are willing/able to kill other players. Society needs more than just medics.
