Pretty much this. You don't have to PvP everyone; a lot of players do, but it's not required. I have ZERO murders/kills and I've been playing since the old Makarov days. I don't avoid populated servers either, or social interactions, you just have to be careful and use your head. Once you learn to not get killed, PvP adds a huge amount to the game (even if you don't partake in it). When I run into town to resupply, I am not afraid of the infected, I'm afraid of snipers and well geared teams. Zombies haven't killed me in quite a while, but players have (due to my own carelessness). It's a dangerous world out there, and playing as a medic throws you right into the middle of it. But with patience and skill you can live 15+ days, as I do.

A proposal to fellow medics
Survivor-Kyle replied to trimethylxanthine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd like to coordinate your efforts with those of the FreeLoaders, since we have the exact same goals in mind. I sent you a PM so we can arrange things. -
I found my endgame - after 3 days of playing.

We always have room. Add me on steam, Dr carebear md -
The friendly guy and the helicopter
Survivor-Kyle replied to iaxx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You'd still be alive if you'd have sent him to investigate the chopper while you "provided cover fire" from a safe location. Just sayin'. -
IN NEED OF MORPHINE IN NORTHEAST REGION
Survivor-Kyle replied to itsalive427's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you are near the Black Forrest/Novy Sobor, and are willing to take a little crawl, I can tell you where I have some stashed... -
I found my endgame - after 3 days of playing.
Survivor-Kyle replied to Element47's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am actually organizing a group, in close cooperation with Dr. Wasteland and his whitelist, to do this exact thing. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in joining the coordinated effort. -
I've got no problem with typed words. I get shot just as often (actually, more often) by players who speak 'friendly' than those who type it. My hours are erratic, but shoot me a steam hello and maybe we can meet up. Dr Caredear md

Medical supplies are rare, so what to do
Survivor-Kyle replied to dierampe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I play as a medic. We stock up constantly, but have plans to make meds more available throughout the wastes. -
I made it to day 15 with zero murders/kills, and multiple rescues (as a medic). Like VZSpyder and others have said, you just have to be alert, patient, and learn to serpent run. I've been chased and shot at more times than I care to admit.

I have encountered those same invisible zombies. Buildings too. 1.7.2.3 beta 95876

Run away from that death trap. Run, crawl, passout and pit distance between you and the NWAF. Then ask RatedMGaming, or any other medic team to help. You got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out. This could be your defining moment. Against all odds, survive. /peptalk

Is there a good Samaritan who can help me
Survivor-Kyle replied to NeptuneVA's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Neptune, the wasteland medic threads are a good source of aid, should future medical emergencies arise. Also RatedMGaming.com/helpme and the reddit rescue force. Chin up hombre, there is still good out there. -
Finding and realizing a goal is what DayZ us about. The people who lurk the Survivor HQ have it right; trading posts, medic teams, logistics networks, survivor-friendly forts, concerts, taxi services (including a trivia CashCab edition), guide services... the list goes on and on-- and often these things are done for free or for donations. It's amazing stuff. People who get bored with the game, or start griefing noobs because "there's nothing else to do", really just need to step back and reevaluate what the game COULD be.

Keep fighting the good fights guys! I'm honestly amazed that you've held out for so long. -
Rated M Gaming -- Awesome Group of Medics
Survivor-Kyle replied to zulthus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Lynx, they'll get killed and lose it in no time :) -
A hatchet is pretty useful for a medic as well, and a spare tin can (for hospital windows). It's pretty liberating shedding the yoke of rare gear. I'm having more fun now that I don't have my ghillie suit (because I don't worry about losing it all the time).

did you ever play arma 2?
Survivor-Kyle replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Is ARMA 2 some sort of mod for DayZ? I've never heard of it. -
why does DayZ take so long to load ?
Survivor-Kyle replied to dgeesio's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It takes time because the client has to contact the server, which has to contact the HIVE, which has to validate with Battleye, and then everyone has to swap data... etc. FPS issues are partly because ARMA2 is not well optimized and partly because part of the game processing is conducted on the client side. -
The first time you are waiting to meet a patient and you see some survivor walk out near you, and you have no idea if it's the patient or a bandit or a random player, you will be sold. And when he or someone else shoots you to death, and you realize where YOU screwed up (walking out into the open, not having a spotter, picking a bad location, etc) you'll change your undies, smile, and love the game (all over again).

Do like those crazy Brits did and fortify a block in Cherno. Make a North American Fort Friendly, and keep the riff-raff out. That thread is fun to read, and I bet a BLAST to play.

I am adding your CashCab to my list of 'What you can do in a SandBox' ideas that I spam EndGame threads with. I salute and bean you sir.

Want to make a difference in DayZ?

It'll drag out for longer than necessary however, because we'll keep patching them up ;) -
Seasons & a possible solution to deathmatching
Survivor-Kyle replied to Azrail (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Why not pilot the idea by linking ambient temperature to the server's date/season cycle. Just flux temperature at first, watch as heat-packs suddenly become useful and infection rates skyrocket. -
This is the suggestions subforum, and you are not offering any sort of suggestion. I suggest that you post in the correct forum next time.
