  1. Yeah, it sucks pretty hard now. Last night I was running through a field and seemed to be making no progress. I popped a flare and saw I had run into a fence (at some point) and had been running in place. I'm pretty sure that, in reality, I'd have noticed I'd hit a fence. Just like broken bones and morphine, I think we may have to sacrifice some realism for the sake of playability.

    Traps to be added in a later patch - thoughts?

    Traps sound great, but the idea of requiring another player to free you is awful. If you are playing solo they'd be a death sentence (a very slow one). Also, it would just lead to more server hopping. [hit with trap] shit [change servers] no more trap.

    Can you pull an average life expectancy statistic? No real reason for it, I'm just curious.

    Semi Perma Death.

    As a player who has no friends in game (all my buddies are console whores these days), DayZ is tough. Every 3 days or so I die (usually due to some sort of glitch) and I lose EVERYTHING. it's frustrating as hell, but it also greatly impacts the way I play. If I had a buddy who could recover my stuff for me and meet me at point X, I'd definitely play differently. A temporary server 'death'/ban would slow things down some, but it won't really change anything. If anything, things may get more chaotic, because you'll have people who are just killing time until they can return to their friends. If I die on Dallas 1, and have to vacation on Dallas 2 for 2 hours, why would I care about anything? I'm rejoining my friends shortly and they'll stock me up with better gear. I'm afraid this system would create more reckless CoDers, while not fostering any new relationships.
  5. Date/Time: 6-11-2012 What happened: The night was super dark, dark enough that I could see absolutely nothing but the sky (even with gamma/brightness maxed). The ammunition for my G17 also had disappeared. Where you were: I had just logged into the game, prone, outside Stary Sobor. What you were doing: I had just logged in. I ate some beans and a a pepsi due to food/water being critical after login. Current installed version: Dayz 1.7 (updated before play) Beta 93666. Server(s) you were on: US Hardcore 40 something (I believe it was 43) Your system specs: AMD Athlon II x64 4200 2 GB Ram Radeon 4200 512mb Win XP Timeline of events before/after error: I logged out the night before, health/water/food in the green, with 2 mags for my G17. I had just driven to town in a UAZ, then crawled into the bushes and logged out. I returned to find it much darker than normal. I ate/drank and flipped on my flash light to see if that was affected as well. I heard a thump (like a zombie hitting me) and saw another zombie running my way. When I tried to fire, the G17 was unloaded :( I assume a zombie killed me, as I heard no shots, but I also died really fast. I was unable to see what the real cause of death was due to the darkness. After I died, I logged on another server (Dallas 7) and the darkness levels were normal.

I could see the sky and nothing else. It was much darker than normal. I tried to turn up the gamma/brightness, but it had no effect. I was then killed, I believe by zombies, but I'm not sure as I couldn't see anything. I didn't hear any shots, but I did hear aggravated zombies. I then connected to a different server, which was also in a night cycle, and I was able to see fine.

    GPS tag/tracker

    I think it would be pretty cool if we could add a GPS tag into the game. It would allow players with a map and GPS to see the location of placed tags, allowing people to pin-point where they left things (like camps), where they found stuff (like helo-crash sites), and where stuff is (like vehicles). That last part is probably the best one. If Player A tags a vehicle, and Player B doesn't notice before stealing the car, A could track his stuff down (and with it, possibly B's base). Perhaps add a tag scanner item that is needed for finding/removing tags once installed? What do yall think?

    GPS tag/tracker

    I know that a GPS exists, for navigation purposes, I was talking about a device that could be used to track/find objects that players may pick up. As in a car/truck/helo, which a player may tag in hopes that an organized group may pick up and take back to their base, allowing players to find those locations on the map.
