I recently found an M4A1 CCO at one of the airports. I saw on the wiki that it's a very rare spawn, is there anything particularly great about the rifle?

I was at the airfield earlier tonight. I snuck my way up into the ATC and found a player who was intently watching the stairs. I took cover and used the direct channel to identify myself as friendly, I even lowered my shotgun as a sign of good faith. In the end neither of us shot the other, and now I have an assault pack and an m4. Balota is fine by me. -

Thanks for taking the time to reply. One more thing, I didn't install any of the previous betapatches since the one released toward the end of May, do I have to download all the patches since my last patch-up, or just the one the servers a running? I keep spawning in Wilderness Bay, I can't get to play this game which is so bloody frustrating. I've spent more time fucking about with Dayz than playing it. The beta patch was required with the release of 1.7.1.x, so your issues may be related to not having it. In my experience, some older beta servers will not let me connect (I currently have 93825). If you get a black loading screen, try a different server with a current version (to confirm the nature of the bug). -

I just sucked it up and learned to use flares (it's not like they aren't everygoddamnedwhere). In cases where I want daylight, like when I have to do lots of wilderness travel, I log onto servers with 300+ pings. It reminds me of playing Quake2 with a P.O.T. line and a 450ms ping. Oh the golden age... -

I see no problem with this. It doesn't 'ruin the game', as has been suggested, it just makes everyone play like new players. Now everyone has to find gear, rather than resupplying from private reserves. That's the point of this project, right? To test game mechanics? This X3. I hope vehicles get wiped next. -
I was thinking about how easy it was to draw attention from a zombie. Simply walking is enough to make a town of Zs come running. But why don't zombies, even at a full run, attract/aggro other zombies? Here is my idea: a new type of zombie that runs after any movement source. In town, around other zombies, it would be pretty schitzo, but I think it could lead to hoards wandering around areas. It could also add a new dodge/distract dynamic, because drawing the attention of a single zombie, even without full aggro, would potentially draw others in. Just an idea, any thoughts?

Yes, you need matches. Blood packs are in hospitals only, and you need a second player to administer it.

Rocket, Is there a way you could add a Hug-Gun into the game? Instead of shooting bullets it fires soft warm Hugs. Maybe have the hugs raise body temperature or restore lost blood or something. That way bandits can still have the fun of shooting players, but without having kill people and make us lose our stuff. I think this is a good idea.

Character Location tied to individual servers

I like moving to different servers. Sometimes (most times) I cannot log on until it is after 10pm. I don't always like to play in the [total] dark, so I'll move to a different server with an offset clock. But pings across the globe can be erratic. Locking players to servers would punish players such as myself.
