Alright, so just so you know I am talking about the DayZ mod, this seems to be the best spot to place this question since everything else is about stand alone (I plan on getting it when it has a bit more done on it, I'd miss too much from dayz epoch, and still I just mess around on my own server, not really a whole lot) Anyways, my question is, do zombies not spawn in the long white barns? I have seen them come out of the more empty, run down brown ones, but I have never seen any spawn inside of the barn, I think I may have seen one spawn in the small section with the door once but aside from that I can't recall seeing any. Have I just missed them? I want to set up sort of an "admin base" or whatever in one in the futile hope that people start to play on my server at some point, I don't think my internet is good enough though. It would be a bother to get out of your tent and have some zombies waiting for you, though I think maybe the bars would keep you safe and give you time to pull out your weapon. So, this is the barn I am talking about. Do zombies spawn in here or not?

I saw a video where someone set up an ambush inside of a tent waiting for someone to try and raid it, can you still get in tents? I tried but can not. Sleeping just makes you lay down, not even inside it.

Hey everyone I set up my own server, I am in saskatoon saskatchewan canada and before I do too much to it, I want to know how the ping is for people, because I am unsure how well my internet connection will work. It's standard Epoch right now, but I plan on possibly adding/changing things I just want to know how well people can play. Ah I see the ones I placed are half in the ground because it's uneven, I guess you have to put a tent on perfectly flat ground for it to not be floating :/

How exactly do you? I have tried going prone but when I get to the tent I just stop moving. does it need to be empty perhaps?

Well from what I heard silenced weapons and ammo are supposed to be quite rare, at least that's the impression I was given, but I raided the north east airfield and got the M9 SD, then I headed over to north west and got another m9 SD and two PDW SD's. Sadly no ammo but a crapton of other good stuff. Going in there at night time with some NVG's is great, I just hope to be able to get some SD ammo so I can enter the barracks, because if I run into a zombie in there I just want to pop it in the head quietly. Any tips for finding SD ammo? edit: ah it seems the PDW SD is added with epoch. but still two M9 SD's is a nice find.

I've encountered two helicopter crashes now, and I have to say they always bring a smile to my face, you get loads of nice loot. Interestingly this helicopter glitched or something and one of the machine guns had the muzzle flash still on it. The other crash was medical though so maybe it's on all gun equipped ones.

I'm running epoch, I thought that was a czech backpack but I guess they added a different one that looks like the czech. I'm going to get an actual czech one if I find one because yeah, 50 slots is overkill

And frankie is...? Don't be so quick to jump to assumptions, you just look like a douche. I wanted to set up my own server, epoch was an easy one and haf plenty of features I liked. That's why I chose it.

Alright so I have just started playing and I'm not sure if it's my server but this game seems ridiculously difficult. First thing is walking or driving around (I've been able to find some nice vehicles, a couple hummers on one life actually, and a once a hummer and machine gun and truck with machine gun which was cool.), when I get to a busier area (outskirts of electro), there will be a good 8 zombies at least all around, it seems pretty ridiculous, and they don't spread out much. Now, for some reason checking barns and stuff it was almost impossible to find a weapon so I edited my inventory and gave myself an m1911 and a few clips to start off. A zombie was rushing at me and it took a whole clip and a half before dying, what the heck? I thought they were 3 shots to the body? I'd going to give myself an leeEnfield and see in that works for 1 shot still. - Okay so that does do a one shot kill on zombies. This was just to mess around privately for a bit but if anyone wants to try it out pm me and I will give you the IP, maybe someone more experienced that see if it is fine or not, and I am curious as to how the ping is. I feel like something is a bit off because all the gameplay I see on youtube looks way, way easier.

Yeah I am on epoch, I sold an old truck I found for some NVG's lol, made scavenging nice and easy. yech, and deal with call of duty players? No thanks

Alright straight forward question, I know for humans seeing a bright yellow SUV in a field or on a road would be more obvious, but does the paint scheme affect how well zeds can see it? Aside from that I had a great experience, I was taking an SUV back to base camp, in the middle of a town I hit a post so I had to salvage a spare tire (used mine already) luckily there was a car nearby, so I went and grabbed it's tire. On the way back to my SUV two zeds came from the cars direction, so I put my Silenced MP5 on burst and took them out, one of them got to me though so I had to bandage fast, as another was about to spot me from behind, I turn around, bam, pop him with 5 shots, and then two more come from the other side. I take one out, one drops and starts crawling, I take him out with one shot, repair my SUV and get the hell out of there, it was awesome XD. I just need to get my server IP out there so I can have some people joining up, problem is my download speed. I have 12mb/s download, but only 1 or 2 mb/s upload, sometimes speedtest shows less :/ Anyways, back to the point. Does the color affect a vehicles visibility?

Yeah I've never played vanilla, but there are some things about epoch I don't love. I do love being able to scavenge parts from vehicles, that is great, however jerry cans and car tires only take up one spot now, and that is kind of lame in my opinion, I shouldn't be able to carry four tires a couple jerry cans and scrap metal to fully fix up a car I find a couple kilometers away. When I go public with my server I may try and change some of that and probably will remove the traders, it's way too easy to get things like NVG with them around.

Hello everyone, I got my server up and am working on giving it an external IP but in the meantime I started DayZ, and can not find any servers running just DayZ or the beta patch. DayZ commander also can not find any servers. I have allowed these programs through my PC's firewall. I am running whatever the latest Steam version is and launching through steam. (I also want to run epoch, as that is the server I will be running, I put the epoch client files in the proper folder but that has not changed anything. OS: Windows 7 X64 Can anyone help me figure this out? Uhg getting this game set up is annoyingly buggy. It also gives me the error Addon 'days_anim' requires addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationPRoject_E'. Mabe someone can point me to a super simple step by step foolproof guide or something.

Hello everyone, I set up a private DayZ server to mess around with and possibly put public, however I would like to just fool around and have fun first, as well as using inventory items to become familiar with them. I can see that there are no addons that allow you to just spawn items or vehicles, and that would be a bit much, so, after I log in and then exit, saving my position and inventory, how can I go about changing what I have in there/in my backpack, as well as possibly the backpack I have? Really the most I want to do right now is load myself out with weapons or something like that, to fool around before I play legitimately. So, how can I do this? Is it all text based or is there a GUI tool? I would also like to know how to edit the default loadout for anyone joining the server/respawning. I own the server it is on, and I am running DayZ Epoch 1.6.2.

Does anyone know if private hive tools has a GUI to edit the loadout? all I cant find is a list in a textbox. I don't know what all the items are called so I really need a GUI, either in that or another program.

Hm, I got private hive tools all set up, and it connects to the database but does not show anything from the server. No zombies, players, server shutdown doesn't work, nada. :/ Here's what I have throw in the install.php MySql DB IP/host: localhost MySql DB Port: 3306 MySqL DB User: root MySwd DB Pass: (It's blank so I just used a space, and it connects). DayZ Server IP: localhost DayZ Server PORT: 2302 DayZ Server Instance: 1 DayZ server Hive Schema: epoch Head admin logi/pass have been set.

Hey everyone I am working on setting up my own DayZ epoch server following this tutorial. I encountered a problem though,when I start DayZ_Epoch_instance_11_Chernarus.bat I get a window with the following errors. The window title is "Server creation failed : 2302" 14:43:07 Dedicated host created. 14:43:09 BattlEye initialization failed I was wondering how to fix this. I deleted the appdata folder but that did not fix it. I am trying to get this to run on an actual blade server I have running Windows Server 2008, so it can not actually run the game. Starting the game gives a display adapter or driver issue but that is normal since it is a bare bones vga output, though I was able to run steam and download the game(s) that are needed. So, how can I fix this? I have the games installed on another PC is there a file that I can move to fix this or something? I desperately need your help. Thanks.
