Azrail (DayZ)

I just connected to a server with older patchlevel, 1.7.1 on 93825 Name was DE #52, comming from a server on 1.7.1.5 on 93965, forgot the name. I was north of Guglovo right to the east of a small barn, in the midst of a group of trees. The incident happpened around 16:45 GMT+1 i think. Right after spawn, i fell from about 25 meter to my death on the ground, i couldn't tell if it was the location where i logged off, but i couldn't find my body after running back up there, this sucked quite a bit. I suspect the older patchlevel being the culprit, prior to this me and my group hopped a bit on 1.7.1.5 servers to find a decent one with daylight and no xhair etc, and eventually enhenced filter to older patchlevels. the server we found unfortunatly wasn't decent for me. I now know i will make sure to stay away from servers with not-up-to-date patchlevel.

we were sniping in the bushies on NE airfield today. we got three unlucky victims, no escape and no mercy. we pissed them off good, because one of them managed to squeeze a X on the map at our location before he died, but only few people could see it from group channel. noone else came to investigate :( we are not bush snipers in real life though.

i admit, the l85 is my favorite weapon by far, but its by no means overpowered. its lacking power and situational awareness with this thing is a mess, your FOV is very limited so you constantly have to turn. its good for medium range or to make a spotter for snipers, but thats it really. i hope they didn't remove it from the game, just wiped it from the inventories so the duped items are gone. then i shall find my gun again :D if not, oh well, still more then enough guns to pick from.

Its a bug. And if you are worried about bugs screwing you over again and again, don't play this. *hammers rilenz to death with the alpha test hammer*

Is there any proof or official word for either version -.-

The free argument does work, because noone charges you anything if you download the dayz files. If rocket is working for BI or Microsoft is not relevant in any way here. You buy Arma II only for DayZ? YOUR risk.

just use sixupdater, did the job in about a minute.

i already successfully retrieved items from my corpse, once i was so lucky that the admin waited for me with an emegency restart, just so that i could get my stuff back (my corpse was deep in the woods, and i had only a rough idea where to look) ***edit: i successfully retrieved items 30 minutes after death, several times now. but i also had bad luck, corpse gone when i knew where i died and got back there. i would really like to know about how dead bodies despawn, maybe some dev can give some insight?

oh no a heatmap! *gasp* how could you ... people will soooooo be abusing this ... and my secret extra hidden save spot *tears* on the bright side, gj there, beat the devs to it :D the south of zeleno actually looks interesting with all the spread of heatpoints, not quite as i would expected...

its sad that the medical tents south of balota airstrip don't contain any sort of medical loot. i was crawling through that place for like 1 hour, avoiding zombies and players, to find me some morphine... found a coyote backpack on one of the towers and died shortly after.
