    Some feature ideas requesting feedback

    i think it is a worthy effort to fight server hopping, but its just too sci-fi imo. it actually acknowledges that other people in my dimension can warp to another dimension, ghost around me and warp back into my dimension. (edit: and serverhopping to revolve around other players would become sort-of legit, because then you can fight it with ingame measurements) it takes away from the authenticity we need so badly for this mod. imo, logging out of a server should be like sleeping. if you dc or log out, your character is flagged as sleeping, and to wake up after reconnect it takes 30 seconds. exactly what we already have, but it needs to happen upon every login, just not as long. half a minute waiting time is not really that much, and it would force people to think about WHERE they are logging out.

    i could easily understand how to start arma2 with mods on my own, but i really see no need to, because sixupdater just does the job for me. yea i am lazy, now what? no idea why people keep bashing it, its a great program, and its doing its job, and its working PERFECTLY. comparing it to something like steam is a bit out of hand there. i guess some people need to show off that they are born leet and can in fact figure out how stuff works. *yawn*
  4. The thing is, rocket is the one guy with the plan. Noone here knows where the road really goes. Afaics he is very experienced with development, i don't think we need to tell him how to do stuff. I would rather trust him all the way, because if there is one trustable man on this world, it would be him.
  5. Alpha = look for features to put in the game and how to implement them, test how they work, experiemental stage. Beta = find and fix bugs, fill the gaps, finetuning stage. This is an open alpha. I don't really think its neccessery to pick a fight wether we need to call this stage alpha, beta or open-gamma, we (or some of us) are trying to lift this game onto a solid level, i think this is what matters.

    Tent problem

    if you put things too close to a tree, specifically items you drop under a tree, there is no way to recover them. thats why zeds can not hit you, if you stand "inside" a tree. you can keep dancing around the tent and see if you get any option to interact, but my bet is, its gone.

    we dont need realism, we need authenticity. more realism doesn't neccesserily mean better. dayz/arma is not considered to be a game anyways.

    Tents holding less than before?

    somewhere i read, as of 1.7.1.5, tents can hold 53 items, excluding firearms, tools and backpacks. i think it was on the wiki.

    Corpses vanishing instantly?

    about 2-3 weeks ago i shot a player in cherno with a lee enfield, its one hit kill. the body despawned a few seconds later. about 5 days ago i got two headshots off. but apparently a headshot from a L85 is not a kill (i think it is so OP?), so one of them just disconnected (no corpse) and the other one woke up again and almost killed me. i killed her (female player) with my pistol. she respawned again at the same spot about 15 minutes later, i again shot her down. she again revived and started bandaging herself, i killed her a second time. body despawned after a couple of minutes. about 2-3 days ago we shot 3 players at NE airfield in a time spread of about 5 minutes. they all despawned simultaneously a few minutes after the last one died. then again i already managed to get back to my own corpse after 30+ minutes to retrieve my stuff, more then once. i would really appreciate a definite answer to: how do human bodies despawn (without being hidden)

    move slower then other

    we tried to figure this out, its completely borked as of 1.7.1.5 guys going with ghillie suits, coyote backpack full to the max, double primary weapon, sidearm go faster then a fresh survivor with coyote patrolpack, one primary weapon, no sidearm. all at full health, sprinting, hunger/thirst don't seem to be the issue either. funny thing is, it already occured before he died, carring the same stuff as the rest of us. we constantly had to stop and wait for him catching up with us. its definetly a bug.

    Lost items washing onto shore

    without bugs forcing you to swim with the sharks, its not likely anyone would loose stuff in the ocean. also, items as heavy as weapons would sink to the ground.

    Share some tips for those of us who are new to Arma and DayZ

    double click it, switch to it (check options to kind the keys how you like them, or use mousewheel for a start), reload (i think they fixed the need to reload crowbar/hatchet, have not tried yet)

    no. there really is no point in alpha. you can test relevant stuff with and without wipe just the same. people rampant asking for a wipe just went mad over the stuff they lost.

    hoi, has anyone made new experience with tents in 1.7.2? in 1.7.1.5 i hold off with pitching my tents due to the recurrent wiping. do tents still eat stuff in 1.7.2?

    Lots of Potential, but ...

    i stopped there because its all that matters - game is not about fun, its about challange. see how bad things can go, and what you can possibly do to come out ahead. its supposed to be unbalanced, cruel, unforgiving, frustrating. its supposed to scare the hell out of you (stil lacking a bit at this point, i'd like to see more suprising/shocking elements). to me, this is fun because its just that type of game i've been wating on for years. if things gonna change, then hopefully to the worse.

    it was already said on original patch day that changes not being listed in changelog were unintentional (except for security updates of course) people need to just stop making up wrong conclusions when shit doesn't work the way they want. this has already happened way too often in here, but i guess i can only expect so much from a crowd of spoiled kids ... we lost 3 L85A2, but we will push to get them back and meanwhile we shall cause havoc on the airfields =) edit: i can only guess but i think the new melee weapon might be the knife, now being able to be fitted to the sidearm slot. can anyone try this? oh god this would be too awesome <3 but if i had to bet, i would say its just a coincidence with the classname tampering.
  25. dont park vehicles beside your tents. vehicles still tent to move after being parked. vehicles > tent everytime.
