    Do guns need balancing?

I think that rarity and ammo availability should be the only balancing factors for weapons. In a survival game, there's a lot more to consider than just relative power.

are people trying to make the SA to friendly?

Most of it is because there's not much else to do right now. If the environment was a real threat, people might be less inclined to kill. Remember that people kill on sight because people kill on sight because people kill on sight. It's a cycle that starts with those that play only for PVP, thus making paranoid players treat everybody as a threat. Those that don't want conflict simply hide away, because most of the rest are busy blasting each other to smithereens for the thrill or for fear of death. If/When the world becomes as threatening as players, then the difficulty of survival may cause people to be more inclined to band together or at least communicate and trade. At the very least, it may cause bandits to get creative to avoid destroying precious supplies. I look forward to seeing people captured, robbed, and left for dead. It's far more interesting than shooting.

    New weapons?

I'm looking forward to more civilian weapons. I prefer to feel like a survivor rather than a soldier.

    Lets talk about 22. lr

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=.22+hitmen I don't know why you have to be such an anus about it when a simple search shows that it's pretty accepted that a silent killer greatly benefits from using .22 caliber weaponry. Way to make a mountain out of a molehill.
  5. It's worth noting that your character's diet will affect your character's status in the future. Eating too much canned food probably will lead to health problems, so hunting and eating well will be important for characters that intend to survive for a long time.
  6. I do agree that putting as much on the user as possible is a good thing, but there's only so much you can do when it comes to things like reload speed, bolt speed, etc. These are things that can only artificially become better as the character uses the weapon. There's nothing you can put on user for these, and a reloading minigame like Gears of War isn't the solution, so they either never improve or follow a simple progression.
  7. They don't have to be artificial things. They can be improvements in things like maintenance, scope sway, reload speed, or even something as simple as time to pull the bolt. It makes sense that somebody that is more familiar with a weapon would perform better in realistic ways. This gives your character much more of an identity.

    Permanent injuries

I agree to this only if there are different levels of severity to breakages. A minor fracture shouldn't give you a limp after it heals up after all.
  9. Back when deer stands were more useful, I enjoyed the relative safety of spawning in Kamenka.

So...How long until a DayZ ARMA 3 port?

I just hope that the SA can match the solid feel of movement that ArmA 3 has presented. I don't think I've ever felt so in control of my character in a FPS before, and that kind of control could do great things for DayZ. Also, since it is still the same engine but heavily modified, maybe the SA will slowly phase in some aspects of ArmA 3 over time.

Helicopter fail.. (First time flying I'm guessing)

And everything went wrong the second he realized how to turn off auto level.
  12. CommodoreFrank

Getting lucky with these heli crashes.

I'll be honest. I'd probably soil myself if this happened to me with my horrible loot luck. Of course, they'd all be empty already if I found them.
  13. CommodoreFrank

I just stood there and watched a guy get blown away.

Well, if that guy had any trust in your words, he certainly lost it the second a maniac appeared.

DayZ - Kill him or let him go.

That was not what I expected at all. I wouldn't have killed him or given the helicopter, since I just avoid people in the first place.
  15. I'd love to see more available skin variety. The game does come with a ton of built-in options, after all.
